Sirius Silverstar
I was actually craving a margarita and needed a shot of tequila to make it. Like I said, it sounds terrible out of context... I promise you I'm very boring. xD
I have theories about what I'll be like when I'm drunk [and hopefully they shall remain as
theories] - 1. I will sit in the corner and rock myself back and forth, looking much like L in
this picture. 2. I will be a slut.
Aside from sweetened drinks I don't really care for alcohol. I've had sips at parties [and study sessions, dear god guitarists are insane] but it tastes gross to me.
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DRIVING TEST!
heart I just took it last year, so here's my advice:
- Being overly cautious is a little better, but almost as bad, as being reckless. It's best to drive confidently.
- Make your gestures obvious. The instructor won't notice if you glance to your right or left - you need to turn your head so they know you're looking around, even in parking lots.
- ALWAYS read the signs fully. I failed once for NOT turning right against red light, because of a sign that said "NO RIGHT TURN ON RED"... and in little letters - "6-9 AM"... it happened to be 9:08 when I was driving. And there was no one behind me either, so I wasn't holding up traffic. I had only been sitting there for 10-20 seconds or so, and my test instructor got pissed anyway, then spoke up, and failed me for "Instructor Intervention."
I can't help you with yield signs, though. One person failed me for STOPPING at the yield sign before I went, the other in a different town almost failed me for NOT STOPPING at a yield sign. And the bizarre thing - the first time I had a red light, and the second time I had green!
Yes, I failed several times... to be honest with you, I feel like most of the reasons were really ridiculous, and the DMV people like to go on their power trips. But man did I waste a lot of time in tears and frustration because of learning to drive. I've come to hate driving. :[
No, your not very boring.
I'M very boring.
gonk xd I find it hard to believe that you'd be a slut. You just don't seem like that kind of person if you ask me.
sweatdrop I admit, I'm not very fond of the liquor I've had before, but I think I'm getting the taste for it.
Though, Brandy is nasty as hell. Rum and Tequila I've found that I like.
Sparks, tastes alright, but does a number to my stomach so I don't drink it any more. Guinness I haven't had enough of it to tell. But I defiantly can't stand most of the beers that my father or brother drink. Blegh!!
Thanks, though right now I'm really just distracting myself so I don't think too much about it least I turn into a nervous wreck.
Which is why I'm being scarce, I've been watching shows on youtube the past week.
And Saturday, no matter if I pass my driving test or not.
The family, and I'm talking about the whole family (Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle, brother's household) are going down to Yuma, Arizona for thanksgiving since my brother is working down there and wanted us down, so we're going.
Otherwise we'd have just gone to Blythe.
xp lol Thankfully, I don't have that problem with the signs unless I go into unfamiliar ground, which is the otherside of the the valley.
As far as I'm aware of, there is no "NO RIGHT TURN ON RED" anywhere in Palm Springs. But I stay at the red lights anyways when turning right, unless I'm positive that I can make the turn safely.
Otherwise I'll just wait for it to turn green.
And there aren't many yield signs around here either, but I'm pretty good at those.
I slow at them and then continue, or stop if thats that case. So far it's worked out well for me.
I agree fully with you that the instructor's have too much power in their hands for passing or failing.
A family member's friend took the driving test twice and was failed.
First time she only got one mark against her, the second she got ZERO marks.
The instructor said for both reasons for failing her was because he didn't feel safe with her.
All because she was blind in one eye. She had to turn her head more and further to make sure that she could see her blind stops, but she was just as safe as someone with both eyes.
But yeah, I'll try to remember to keep my gestures obvious, so that the instructor knows, I'm turning and looking.
wink I've failed the first time taking the written test and when I decided I wanted to drive again, I failed the first time again.
I just suck at written tests, and it doesn't help that half the time I have so much trouble trying to figure out the question, even though I know the answers.
emo But yeah, thanks for the well wishes Aivi, Kilana, Eve.
