I'm dating a vegan. xd
He's not preachy at all. I've made steak like 3 times in our kitchen, and sometimes he brings home fast food for me even if I don't ask for it - now if that isn't love... heart
He's rather strict with his diet and lifestyle but he's not hardcore to the point where he won't eat products with imitational-meat flavoring. And, he doesn't believe in forcing his views upon other people. In return, I NEVER say things to him like, "Oh, there's just a DROP of milk. You don't have to kill a cow to drink milk. Just eat it!"
Besides, there's a lot of great "middleground" food that we can share. He has good taste in vegan products that I can enjoy too, and occasionally makes yummy things for me to try. That's no easy task - I HATE vegetables. ;] But it feels so wonderful whenever we can share a meal and eat off the same plate.
The ONLY problem so far - groceries. For someone like me who doesn't eat a whole lot, my groceries go bad before I use them all up because no one will share with me.

The only problem I have with veganism is "soy imitation" stuff. But only for the fact that it's horrible. I like soy beans, and I like tofu, but I don't like making things out of those two things. The only things I've seen work were seafood substitutions anyway.
That and soy milk doesn't seem to work the same as dairy when I try using it in cooking. Which I hate. I'm sure soy yogurt would probably be a better substitute in a lot of causes.
And I like leather and fur and such, but I suppose thats a bit less of a concern to me.
My vegan friends usually don't give a damn about things like that though. Luckily most of them are the kind of people who don't directly support the industry by buying animal products, but wouldn't turn down a meal or a nice pair of shoes or something. Which I can agree with.

Jeff Buckley has my birthday!
"My body turns, and yearns for a sleep that will never come. It's never over... My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over... All my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her It's never over... All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter It's never over... She is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever Maybe I'm just too young, to keep good love from going wrong Oh lover, you should've come over."

Damn, I knew Japan would do the male cafe thing. Too bad there isn't much of a market for it in America.
...the school setting is a little weird, but I suppose it works. Too bad that guy looked really old...and not that good looking.

do you know that sound that cow from cow and chicken makes when she's disappointed? it's like moooooowww... i've been trying to find it on youtube, but i haven't been successful.
i find it sooo cute and try to imitate it all the time and my friends are like, what the ******** are you doing, because they only know the german dub, which is lousy!
i hate how people dub things half-heartedly just because they think it's for children...

Oh, I'm adoring this song. Thinking about performing it for a contest in choir gets me all excited, because if we can get it down, the other schools will CRY. whee
Yay French music.

Vegans bug me. Mostly because I've never met one who does it for health reasons and their moral reasons tend to be bullshit. Well, the health reasons are bullshit, too, seeing as how many legumes and vitamins you need to take to get your daily protein value and other things you would normally get from meat. But the no eggs/ no dairy?
It's so obviously a city trend. Anybody who has ever been around cows, even for a little bit, knows that they don't give a s**t about being milked. They will give a s**t about NOT being milked, though. Dairy farmers have a pretty set schedule with pretty much no vacation unless they can get somebody to watch their cows for them. It is quite physically painful for a cow to be full of milk and have nowhere for it to go. And eggs. Dear god. I don't really like eggs much myself. But if I eat them, I'm not killing baby chickens. I'd be eating a chicken's period... which I actually find slightly more disturbing.
Of course there are those who just don't agree with the way the animals are kept on large corporate "farms," but Christ, that is what they have farmer's markets for. Buy from people who actually take care of their animals before they kill them.

Man, I am just sick and tired of school, especially this damn essay. And then I'm going to get slammed with two essays right in a row. And this next one really is going to suck because it's based off of a book turned into a movie and seeing as I don't really actually watch movies about the only one I've seen that I've read aside from Lotr is Catch-22. Unless you count Frank Miller's work.
