"I have my moments." Grinning at him and tilting her head a bit before reaching up to smooth her hair back around her around her horns to that it fell right. "If we're going to be raiding this place for supplies, we might as well make them count, yes?" Taking out her paper and pencil once more, more or less drawing as they walked. A distracted look to Xeke. "Wait a minute, you can sense those? And you're telling me you've been lazy all this time?" Shaking her head and giving a noise of mock annoyance. "I honestly can't believe you, lazy thing." Giving a melodic laugh the echoed off the surrounding stone walls.

They had entered into another hallway, salt encrused to the walls here as well over various little murals and other wall decorations that had survived the tests of time. A thick layer of salt and dust gave way to boot prints they left as they walked. She flicked her tail lightly perhaps in some effort for her balance. The hallway eventually gave way to a multistory circular room, old rusted spiral steps circling a pillar in the middle heading up and branching out to the floors above, but also downward into almost a tunnel like chamber that sunk under the floors. Books, artifacts, abrics and various curious objects seemed to litter the shelves and walls. "Wow...I can't belive all this stuff is here...and intact. Or probably at least until we touch something..."

He had hold of his sister's tail and was letting her lead along. "At least you don't gots fur for it to sticks to. Makes me itchy." Indeed itching at his arm before it was back to literally tail tagging along throught the sands, hooves sounding in loud cadence as they reached the temple and they hit stone. "What if wes get losted?"

She waited as he set up again and handed up binding marterial, duly taking to securing the piece without fuss. "You're just fond of her because she touches you." Giving him a saucy look as she finished tying off what would be the last knot, swinging a leg over the beam so that she wasn't straddling it anymore and dropping to the deck, wiping the back of her hand across her forehead. Stupid sun. Stupid salt making everything hotter. "Happy by leaving them be. I would hate for them to think we depended completely on them. Fire and Ice are perfectly capable...I'm sure with a little convincing I could get them to hunt at least. Hard to find an Ilindal bred dragon who will do so these days. But this is survival...at least I still have rum to put me to sleep at night."

Dedemona growled when she hit a barrier, and turned her attention to the other elf.

"Go ahead. let her rot my wings off. I'm not a chromantic. I'm a metallic. and bronze. surely you elves know what that means? you rot me, and my blood turns to acidic gas. we all die in a short period of time. Now I don't have time to be fooling aroudn with your pride. I want those shards, I want them quickly, and I want off that damnable wenches boat."

Tilting his head oddly as he surveyed her. Raiding... that sure made it sound worse than it actually was, didn't it? All and all, he personally considered this more of an exploratory trip rather than a supplying one. But her logic was intact so he simply nodded, continuing on through the building with her at his side. "I agree, Xeke. You could have said something earlier." But then falling silent again as they reached what could only be considered a vast storage room of artifacts. The circular walls that spiraled upwards seemed to exaggerate its size and the steps tunneling down into the ground were ominously cracked and weathered. "It seems like we are the first to step into this place in years..." Looking down at the saltdust-covered floor and then up at her. "Watch your step, but don't flap your wings unless you actually fall. Who knows what strong air currents will do to these objects..."

A muted noise that usually accompanied a physical shrug, if he had been a person. "The feeling comes and goes. And that label isn't fair, I am limbless after all..." In the giant room, even his glowing light seemed minimal. "Oh great. We're going to grow old and die in here."

"You fail to see the flaw in your plan of 'let her do it' even though you've plainly stated it, don't you? If you want to get your shards and fawn over that b*****d of a captain, you need to be alive to do so." Giving her another swift steel toed kick to the ribs. "Thus is not about my pride, this is your impatience...and I cannot tell you where to go unless I can feel out the lay of the place around me as conduit for my senses. You're only hindering up futher." Eventually pushing out of the dragoness' hold and brushing herself off. "I only help you because maybe it will shut that b*****d up." Turning a look to her friend. "Take it down, and help me feel this place out...the salt is maddening to me."

Jae giggled again and nudged him in the side with her elbow playfully. "Oh go on and crack a smile Kaz Kaz, I know you want to." After all, how would not want to with all of this vast knowledge just ready to be combed over with his sponge like tendencies. But a sigh, "You said the bad word. Now I probably will fall..." Shaking her head but trying to tread lightly so as not to disturb the floor. Her feet lead her to the downward stair and she peered down them. "Tunnel leads onward..." But a look to Xeke as he was still perched on her shoulder. "You float slow, which can be called lazy."

Sorely tempted to go down those stairs. Splaying her wings in preventative tactic just in case, she touched one boot down to the top step, testing her weight on it. "Seems to hold up..." Of course she should really learn not to say these thins because the moment she folded her wings and stepped her other foot down on the same step, they gave way under her, dropping her down into the hallway below them with a yelp from her and kicking up a large cloud of dust and salt that wafted about in the air, thickening it and coaxing a cough from her...well at least coughing meant she was okay. Or at least seemed to be thus. Just her luck...

Caden eyes lowered at Desdemona, the stubborn woman couldn't be any worse but then she went out of her way to prove him wrong. It pissed the guardian off to see the dragon just not even give a crap about Savvy at all. Though when Shyrae stepped in he knew that if the gal did not go by what they asked she would get it one way or another. But before he could actually step in the elf decided to do some thing of her own, kind of simple but effective. He looked at the three of them for a moment but didn't say anything yet before staring off somewhere. "It's best we get moving, even for me this damn salt is starting to bug me a little." Mainly his eyes, the salt was leaving a nice sting in them, he rather be moving than standing still.

"Or calm. Or distinguished with an air of royalty." A sound like a chuckle before she fell and he stayed right where he was in the air. "Look at you... Maybe your clumsiness is just a psychological matter."

Blink. Oh, he wasn't smiling. That meant he wasn't properly displaying internal emotions so that others could react to them. Made perfect sense and yet, he always forgot. Just wasn't used to it. "It is exciting..." And thus giving her a small smile that was surprisingly natural as he was slowly getting the hang of it now. "You're just being superstitious, Jae." But the crack that sounded in the air quickly proved him wrong and he quickly flared his wings and dropped down to where she had landed. "Sorry, maybe I was wrong. Everything alright?" Offering her a hand for support.

"Death doesn't mean I don't see him. just means a bit longer wait."

before glaring at them.

"And I think I know hunter better than you ever will. despite certain things."

before crossing her arms in a huff.

"then hurry and lets get going."

Hunter was heading downstairs from another way, and looking around the place. careful enough, and lightly moving down with long practiced almost soundless steps.

but that was not what caught his attention..it was the..emptiness of this place. no corpses, no bodies, no people caught running for thier lives or anything.

"what happened here. I mean no one around. no bones..nothing. like everyone got up and left before things went to s**t."

A look up to the ball of light. "Or maybe you added to my weight and this is your fault." Oh boy...something was twisted. Or several things rather but since when had she been one to complain? She was used to falling down and hurting something on a regular basis. Still didn't make it any less humiliating. "I landed on my tail..." Shaking her head, dust and salt falling from her hair as she took Kaz's hand, letting him help her up for the second time today. Another cough and she brushed at herself as she turned a look down the dark hallway they were in now. "Well...we're at least down here now? Time to snoop...or rather investigate." Another look back up. "Coming light ball?" Well...at least she recovered easily or at least appeared so.

"Metaphysical weight? Oh don't tempt me..." But bouncing against her shoulder some to make his point and then gliding along the dark hallway to light their way. "Light ball is a much better nickname than butthead."

Unlike her, he didn't have a deja vue moment as she took his hand and stood up again. The steps were indeed old and weathered, they would have to be more cautious. "It doesn't look broken, you can still move it. Hold on to me if you need to." But looking down the hall now, he nodded and began to walk in that direction. "Look, these walls don't have murals of any kind." Interesting wasn't it? Seeing how almost every single inch of space in the rooms before had been covered with such art.

"You should be called a butthead though. Sometimes Xeke you're insufferable." Shaking her head and watching him float on off like he always did before turning a look to Kaznec and his somewhat concern before her eyes drifted down to her tail, watching it as she curled it some, testing and such. "Have to love flexibity that prevents too much injury." Turning to follow him, limping slightly but not fussing about it. Lack of balance, and now more so. How fun. While they walked, she took a moment to pull out a second piece of paper, jotting down a note on it before quickly sketching.

"Maybe it's to keep intrigue down and thus people from the passage." Indeed, bare walls, bare floors, not even wall sconces that would of held torches for light. Narrow and dark for the most part as the two continued down, the hallway even starting to get a tad more cramped in both dimensions of height and width. The further they went, the cleaner and less whethered it seemed to get. "Look, door at the end."

"You and Areesa should be getting along just fine then. I'm not insufferable, I'm realistic." Which was already built into his inherent nature so no amount of commenting was going to change him. "And just so you know, we are on the right track. This feeling is... stronger now."

Indeed, the plain walls stretched on. No murals or torches. Even the salt encrusted on them seemed to be getting thinner as they walked on. And sadly for Kaz, he quickly realized that he was claustrophobic. Obvious in the way his steps were slowing down and the distracted fidgety way he began to talk. "Maybe... Maybe not many people came down here... Or not very often..." But a door was good news right? Thoughts of fresh air looped in his mind, until they walked up to it and he saw its diminished height, then the puzzle-like combination made from stone that prevented anyone from opening the door unless it was solved. Holding up his hand in the way that told Xeke to land on it, he inspected the puzzle more closely in the light. "Something... important is behind this door."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 30, 2007 5:13 pm

"You're boring mostly." Giving a little giggle, the sound kicking back from the walls again at the two walked on. Though a look to Kaznec at his fidgety motion and the way he....babbled. He didn't babble. Well he did, but not in that matter usually. When he did go on and on it was in educated fact retelling fashion. This was just babbling. Giving him a look a moment, she studied him; the look in his eyes, the rise and fall of his chest in his breathing, the light flick of the end of his tail. Someone wasn't happy about something. Maybe it was his aprehension.

Looking to the door she studied it a moment, hand reaching to push at the little puzzle, stone dials with various markings giving way and turning lightly. "We just have to solve it, shouldn't be too hard." Watching him again, "You just hold Xeke." Thusly taking to fiddling with the lock, while letting the end of her tail wrap around Kaznec's, threading through the blades on his own tail as if she was holding his hand. Several different methods she tried, matching symbols and reversing orders, pretty much trying to logically go through it. With a frustrated noise, she drew a thin flat piece of iron from her satchel and threaded it into the space above the dials, feeling for the mechanisms that held locks up. "You think this would be easy, we're dragons...we love puzzles."

And there was hunter, looking at a similar door. except this one didn't have dials. it had bocks that moved to form certain patterns, and those patterns apparently, also needed to reconnect to each other is a specific manner.

"why can't people just use regular old locks. well come on boys, put down your stuff lets get this figured out. you work on this pattern, I'll work on this one, and you that one. see if we can't get this door open. if not...could always try gunpowder."

He was none too happy about this situation. Short walls, ceiling barely scraping the tips of his horns, and now this door in front of them that basically prevented movement ahead. Not pleasant at all. He needed to move, to go somewhere... If it had been a more open space, he would have helped her with the puzzle. As it was, he couldn't concentrate at all.

Between watching her and then glancing back behind him at the long corridor, he just stood there and occasionally gave a discreet cough that people usually made when they were uncomfortable. The entwining of her tail and his provided minimal comfort but it did keep him from continuing to fidget too much. "I can help, if you want... Or are you ok?" But soon a scratching click echoed in the passage way and the door gave way slightly. You could almost hear the breath of relief he let out. "You did it!"

"I'm fine, no worries. I put stuff together, I should be able to get it apart or working too." Despite her attention to the door, she was also paying attention to him...it wasn't hard to see, at least for her, that he was upset about something. She vaugely believed it had to do with the hallway...after all, he was tall and this place wasn't really. And he'd started to act funny since they had come down here. A slight start back from the door as it gave but then a smile and she put her took a way before a smile to Kaz and a tug on his tail with her own as she braced a shoulder on the door and eased it open. At least enough for them to slip through. "Come on then, looks like it opens up."

Indeed it did again, another large room with various things...though these things seemed of the armor and weapon type, all in suprisingly well kept fashion, time having not gotten to here. Diamonds cut in the walls seemed to be circulating a breeze or at leased seemed to be, and light filtered through barely. They were still underground, that was for certain...but they weren't cut off. "Armory?" Though something else seemed to catch her eye as light glinted off the small sliver of crystal on the floor and she grabbed Kaz's arm. "Kaz, look."
