As the droid exploded, Darksun scratched his chin in thought, still smirking.
"Well now lads. It seems we still be holdin' the upper hand."
Turning around, the captain proceeded towards the bridge, his cape flapping lightly as though a breeze was blowing. "Get us back into hyperspace an back onto the space lane. Alert the others. It be seeming Marr will have to learn his arrogance comes with a price."

"I am still ranked an apprentice, despite being well into the age of knighthood," Sonya stated through clentched teeth. "I've had a series of masters from Darth Kawaii, to Karah Tos, and of course Nakara, all of whom have failed so far to find a way to harness my power. I held a small territory near Sullust before I sadly lost it, due to a poor fleet who didn't respect my authority. So far, i've only learned rudimentary fighting styles, and have been self teaching. Not the most effective way to learn."

" I see... " Volgens mind slowly and clamly reached into the girls.

" Follow me my dear... " He turned and walked out the bridge door. As he walked he attempted to find any thing in the girls mind that would aid him. Volgen's mind was like a swamp, filled with pockets of pain and sorrow. He left her mind alone for now to find what drove the girl to fight. They turned the corner and entered a large cargo room.

" You there! Come here. " Volgen yelled at a crew man.

" Yes sir!"

" Would you follow her command? " Volgen pointed to Sonya.

" If you told me to SIR! "

" Hrmm... "

A slight itch in Sonya's head brought her stare on Volgen.

"If you're trying to probe my mind, don't. It won't get you much, and making an umbaran for an enemy is never a wise idea." She raised her hand up to her brow, squinting at the light. "You're able to see in the darkness, mind turning the lights down some?"

She quickly gave an annoyed sigh, "So what are we going to do now?"

Marie bent down slowly, sliding her hands down her leg and stretching her muscles till they pulled tight. She moved to the other side, then arched her back and brought her hands to the floor behind her. After a few more stretches she sat in front of Jakar, crossing her legs and looking him over with a faint smile on her lips.

"I was thinking of something a little different for today's session," she said softly, as if a loud noise could shatter the stillness in the room. "It'll be a lot less physical than yesterday, but significantly more challenging."

Rook sat back in the chair in her personal quarters on the Revenge and looked at the young boy sleeping on her bed. Fi was able to evade the feds after a brief chase through the city's upper levels and they managed to escape to deep space. After they were clear of trouble, Kira told her about her encounter with the scientist, and why she rescued the boy. She couldn't just leave him there to be tortured and used as a human lab rat...she just couldn't.

Fi said that she was just being overly sentimental, and that the kid would probably be dead weight, but she didn't press the issue. That was why they got along so well, even when she disagreed with her she still knew when to let it be. Kira counted today as just one of many that she was glad to have her as a friend.

Looking at the boy, though, had gotten her thinking. She thought about what children meant, the passing of time and the continuation of legacies. Rook pondered on what her legacy would be, what people would say about her when she was long gone. Before she hadn't cared to much about it, but lately it had been weighing on her mind more and more.

Children also represented responsibility; not just responsibility to those younger than us, but also those under her command. In her vendetta against the Jedi, Rook left her men leaderless. Not wanting them to suffer in her personal battles, she left them without a cause to fight for. Most of them were just gathering dust back on Lyra, and the mantle was not a place for a warrior.

Kira sat there for a long time, pondering on duty and legacy and the path ahead...

The lights dimmed after Volgens eye twitched. The crew in the cargo room tapped their goggles and activated the night vision. Strangely she was right about one thing, it got him little. But the little was of some use.

"You not like me doing some thing? " In the blink of an eye his saber sat under the umbarans chin.

"Why not try and stop your new master. Not like you can... Your masters failed in teaching you any thing. So your good at feeling some one enter your mind, but can you fight? " Volgen lowered his saber and walked behind some large crates.

"Why not see if you can find me first... Your vision might help... but I have protection... " Volgens voice echoed and bounced off the walls. The lights went brighter in some places and darker in others.

The crew looked at each other as the ran out of the room. They looked at the umbaran and bowed as they passed, as if to say good bye.

Jakar opened his eyes, looking straight at the Sith woman sitting in front of him. "That confuses me, honestly," he said.

Why must every master insist on playing games instead of teachign something useful?

Igniting her saber, she watched the explosion of ultraviolet rays dance from the room around her. Natural night vison, and this mutt was just like every other master. Nakara's taste was somewhat predictable. Methodically, she began slashing the crates in half, one by one, until the cover was destroyed.

"Oh mutt, where are youuu..." she teased, noting that he wasnt' behidn his cover. Placing her hand on the hilt of her saber, she slowly moved about the room, watching the shadows dance where the light wasn't bright.

"Protection's only uesful if you use it.."

" I see... Ataru would be some thing more to your liking. Smashing your way through to get to your target. " Volgen 'stood on the ceiling, his claws hooked in. He stood next to a light to hide himself. If she even glanced near him it would hurt her eyes.

" Hrmm. She talks a bit to much. I could bend her to my will... Vaapad might be some thing she coul learn. " He grinned a bit.

" I could let her natural abilities come forth with time. "

Volgen continued to talk to himself as he watched her. After a few moments of her breaking cargo and other things he jumped down behind her. He was only a few feet away. He wanted to see her reaction time.

" Tell me umbaran... Do you enjoy the Thrill of a saber battle? "

"Are you always so talkative?" she asked, igniting her saber backwards on her hip, inches away from his chest as the other one lit in case he wanted to try to parry. "In a battle, one shouldn't have time to speak."

A sly grin spread across her face. "Funny thing about my opponents in the last few months. They seem to always try to come from behind me. It's a good thing that they enjoy my back so much, but it's rude to a girl to not speak to her face."

" Jar'Kai... " Volgen ignited his first saber and batted the saber pointing to his chest. Igniting his second saber he stepped back and got into fighting position.

" You are right about having no time to talk. If I was to attack you with more then I am now... you would be dead. From what I know of your kind you are different. " Volgen sniffed the air.

" Unlike your other masters, I am trying to let you show me your ability. Umbarans' are known to talk... but say nothing. Jar'Kai is the form your attempting to use. I assume you have used it before. The style is tricky, many Jedi Knights and Sith Lords trained to use Form VI in the hopes of gaining a basic knowledge of the dual-bladed attack, but very few ever achieved complete mastery of Niman. I on the other hand... " With swift movement and animal like prowess, Volgen danced his blades toward Sonya. He came down quickly with both sabers.

" Show me your power... "

Sonya let go of the blade still attached to her hilt, and gripped her single blade with both hands, rising it up above her head. The two blades met with her one, as she half-parried, half-blocked them to her right. Letting go, she extended her left and sent out a force push.

"I once tried to learn Jar'Kai. I was beaten quickly by Karah Tos. He used the exact same skill on me when I attacked." She said quickly, leaping forward with a scissor-cut.

"However, Umbarans do say things when we speak. It is the jedi who talk and say nothign!"

Flying back from the force push, Volgens' claws sparked along the ground as he came to a stop.

" Yes, much better. Utilizing your sabers with your force, mind and body as one. " Volgen watched as she lunged at him. Volgen jumped up spinning into the air. His sabers dance about him as he landed behind her.

" Enough. " His sabers extinguished.

" If you talk then we have no need for this. I have met many of your kind. I lived with them in fact. Many of their ways seemed strange to me at first. " Volgen turned his head sharply as he avoided a bad memory.

" The point of all of this is for me to know my student. Since you seem to be able to use more then a saber, I say we talk about your training. I would rather you grow from with in then wither from thirst. Tell me... What do you want to learn. " He motion for her to follow as he got on all fours and headed for the door. The lights returned to normal and before long crew men came in and started to get to work on cleaning and other things.
