the scoreboard lies.
not once does the hero ever win out of his own power.
usually the villain, who up until that point was intelligent, careful and thorough, suddenly becomes a drooling idiot which even an untrained monkey would be able to defeat.
OR, in a case of actual character consistency, the hero turns one of the main antagonist's right hand man/woman away from the dark side through the power of GOODNESS FRIENDSHIP AND SPARKLEFUNTIME FAIRIES. the former villain then betrays the main antagonist at the last second, winning the day - not the hero.

My sister replied with: "So we are all going to glowing?" I also forgot something cool! The Birdmen!! Every summer that I'm there, I go and watch them jump. I'm scared shiftless for them, but its amazzzing to watch.
