"Listen kid," Orrin said from his cockpit, "Paperwork is nice and all, but in the time of a war things get smudged. Eventually you'll be officially transferred, but seeing as how we loose a pilot every so often, all you got to do is fill in for them as a temp on the files and everything clears back in."
The engines wound back down, as Orrin stepped out slowly. He had been getting slower as age set on.
"Of course, by signing on with us, you kind of eliminate the possiblity you could be promoted to squad leader."

"Heh sorry about that.." Ace smiled slightly as he turned his gaze towards Orrin.
"Well leading has never been my strong suit, unless it is absolutely necessary...I don't like to be in command. Besides, word is spreading about you guys." He nodded his head.

Zendia gave a brief chuckle at the proceedings. "So yes. Basically, we wish to throw a rock at," snickering, attempting to not laugh at the name, "Pre-fried Vrelt?" She then shook her head, asking, "Who names these places, anyway?"
She then nodded in agreement at Orrin, as she never personally had much use for all the bureaucratic red tape.
"I'll lead for as long as I'm needed," Zendia sighed. She then turned to Ace. "What do you mean 'Word is spreading'?"

"He means somehow, we're getting known for the bullshit we do. Though short of losing more members per squad, I doubt we did anything worthwhile; Ruby's far more famous than we, I know that much. Flew against the death star boosts your street cred for ya.."

Zendia was rather curious now. With a forced chuckle, she agreed with Orrin. "That's pretty much about it," she said. "HC, you say?" she asked Ace, an eyebrow raised.

"I'll try to remember those rule.." Ace smirked. The attitude of this squadron was so different from Azure Squadron, they joked and had fun with one another.
"Huh?" Ace blinked and looked at Zendia. "Yeah...Cap'n talked about you guys a lot, said there was real potential here.."

Orrin began shutting the engine check down.
"That's officer speak when they got nothing better to say. Sort of like getting a medal for being shot down."

"From my watch, we move out in five hours. So better get going. I'd like to get out of here in four and a half, give us some breathing room shoudl we run into the x-factor all battle plans have," Orrin said, "So I'd suggest find your ship and your loadout. Time is of the essence. I'd hate to really kill your spirits, but once this damnable war is over, we all can go home over the hills and far away from the memory of this place. Well, most of us can. You're a bit S.O.L. there Starshine."
