Lorelei was shaking as she responded with a just as shaky voice, "I can't handle it... more and more... so much.... to much..." She was unable to form coherent sentences as she felt more and more emotions of others around the world. She had been manipulating herself so that she wouldn't feel these other emotions, but now that it's overwhelming her she's not able to do so.
Maia completely ignored Aaleah as she attempted to go to Lorelei anyways. "Lorelei! What's too much?!" She looked panicked for once, and her tone of voice gave off concern. Should she have succeeded in getting to Lorelei, she'd kneel down next to her and put her hands on her shoulders. "Come on, talk to me, Lorelei!"

Aaleah was distracted for just a second, when her brother called out and she looked over to him. She heard foot steps and when she turned, Maia was in front of Lorelei. She bristled at the fact she was ignored when it came to her sister. "I said leave her alone!" she yelled, in her anger, her clone disappeared since her thoughts wanted anyone but her and possibly Jayden near Lorelei right now.
Jayden crouched next to Maia to see if there was anything he could do "Lore? What's too much? What can we do to help?"

Lorelei clenched her hair in her fists tightly. "No!" She shrieked. "Get away from me!" She removed her hands from her hand and was about to push Maia away, but she stopped herself, an inch from pushing her, her eyes opening widely. "What am I doing..?" Due to the magical promise between her and Maia, her powers were switched off as she was about to hit Maia because she was being over whelmed by it. She turned her head slowly toward Aaleah, her eyes still open wide since she was processing what just happened."Aaleah... Why do you hate Maia...?"

 Aaleah stared. Her hands clenched and her teeth ground together. "I don't believe it. I don't ******** believe this s**t." she growled as her eyes looked like they flashed between pink and red. Her whole body shook as she felt her anger rising. At Lorelei's question, she snaps. "Me...Jayden, we ask whats wrong, we try and help and nothing. But this...this b***h comes and everything is ********!?" A ring of fire appears around her as she gets angrier "******** you Lorelei! None of this happened before she showed up and now your having weird a** panic attacks, but you still ******** pick her over your siblings!? I know we aren't blood, but that didn't used to matter and now...now you really show how much that means." Aaleah wrapped her arms around her stomach as if in pain "I don't care for your lame a** story about friendship. ******** keep her in your life, because I don't ******** care anymore! At this point let Shion come and ******** kidnap us, as long as it gets me away from both of you. Wanna know why I hate her, why I wish she would ******** disappear or die? Because if it came down to it, if you could only save Maia or me and Jay, we both know whatever ******** bond you have with Maia would have you saving her and leaving us to our fate. You wouldn't even hit her just now and we both know me or Jay would have been knocked back, so what makes you think you would let her die? I am not going to stick around for that type of disappointment and betrayal to happen." she glared and for the first time she glared with burning hatred at Lorelei and Maia.
Jayden sat stunned, Sure he felt hurt at how Lore was with Maia, but he never felt like..like THAT. Hell, he didn't even think AALEAH could feel like. He felt bad, first from because what she said to Lore and secondly that she felt like that and he didn't see it. He glanced at his older sister 'That we didn't see it.' he thought a bit guilty. "Oh Lea..." he muttered sadly.

Lorelei's eyes widened. Her hand clutched her chest. "Not even.... The magical promise can... hold it back..." She thought to herself as the emotions came flooding through, Aaleah's emotions being most prominent. Unfortunately, this caused her to genuinely start feeling hatred for Maia, and that was breaking the magical promise. She clenched her clothes in her fists as she felt her heart hurting. She fell over, unable to keep herself standing.
"Lorelei?! Lorelei!" Maia shouted in a panic. "What is it?! You look like you're having a heart attack! Lorelei!?"
Kaiko stood up, clumsily and in a rush, and started running over to Lorelei. "Stop it! Someone knock her out!" She shouted in a panic. Due to her power detection, she knew exactly what a magical promise was, and saw what just happened. That's what caught her attention. "Knock one of them out right now! She's going to die!"

Jayden's eyes widened in horror. Not wasting time, Jayden used his super speed to rush Aaleah. Fast and extreamly hard, Jayden made sure to punch his sister in her her solar plexus, knocking the air out of her and finishing it with a strong blow to her jaw to knock her out.
Jayden turned and watch as his sister crumpled to the ground. For a moment he stood there looking at her sadly, before sighing and picking her up the best he could. "I'm sorry. You felt like that and I didn't see it, I didn't help you." he whispered hugging her close to himself "I'm sorry sissy." He looked towards Lorelei hesitantly "Are you okay? Did it stop?" he asked just a bit above a whisper.

Lorelei took a deep breath as she felt like she could breath again. She felt relief wash over her, but in an instant she clasped onto her head again as she was overwhelmed once more. She was unable to say anything.
"I don't think she'll be able to respond. It seems you all are unaware, so I will explain." Kaiko starts, slowing down as she nears them now that she sees Lorelei's not in mortal danger. "You're aware of her power to manipulate emotions, I've heard it mentioned quite a few times. That power does not come with just the ability to manipulate the emotions. It's like a superior form of empathy. I wondered how she was able to handle it so well, especially with the mood swings Aaleah seems to have." She looked at Lorelei, her expression laced with concern and some pity. "I get it now, though. You were manipulating your own emotions to make the feelings you were getting from others go away. Unfortunately, that was the worst thing you could've done. There was no way one could continue doing that forever. It was inevitable that your powers of empathy would outgrow your power to suppress it. Now it is far worse than it would've been before. I imagine you're being bombarded with different emotions from millions of different people, along with the thoughts that are tied to them."
Maia looked startled at this explanation. "How did I... not notice... that..." She muttered to herself in disbelief. It made so much sense now, but she never connected the dots to come to that conclusion. She felt disappointed in herself, somewhat disgusted even that she was too dumb to notice.

"What do we do?" Jayden asked strained. One sister hated the other, one can't handle the emotional pressure. They can't keep one of them knocked out forever, but the way its going they may have to split up. "Even if Leah gets over herself, her emotions are chaotic and always changing. Lore can't handle that..." he trailed off "But...if we were to...to separate, Lore could go with Maia. She seems to be able to help Lore with this bond. And...and maybe when Lore can handle it...we can see her again?" Jayden stared at Maia as he said this. Lorelei said she was super smart and hopefully now, she could come up with a plan to save his sister.

Kaiko looked at Jayden. "Separating from you both would not improve her condition. She would likely still unconsciously hone her power in on you both, out of concern. Aaleah would likely start to hate Maia even more, as well, if that were to happen. That is the more damaging factor here. I've explained the effects of the curse that one gets from breaking a magical promise before, specifically to Jayden, though, so I'll repeat it for your sake." She looked at Maia. "If you break a magical promise, a curse spreads from the inside out. It happens slowly. First you start losing control of your powers, and losing your powers themselves. Then you start forgetting things about your past. Then, if you have the power to see into the future, it doesn't work. Then your heart starts going numb. And it keeps going numb until you don't feel anything at all. That's when your powers disappear, and your future does too. You basically become a shell of your former self. However, as I explained to Aaleah, it is very hard to break a magical promise based upon friendship. The relationship has to be ended willingly, without any outside force interfering, and it cannot be for the sake of the other person. Lorelei's power complicates this, though. I never even thought of such a case before, but now that I'm seeing it, it's quite obvious. The way an empath's power works is that they literally feel what another is feeling. Such a strong hatred from Aaleah must have come through very prominently. At first, the magical promise enabled a sort of fail safe, since it was the case that her own power was causing it, and not her own feelings. When she stopped herself when about to shove Maia away, I could not sense any power at all coming from her. Thus, she was able to actually think over what she just felt. That's why she was able to be coherent, it wasn't anything to do with her not being willing to hurt Maia. I suspect if she was just angry and lashing out, she would've shoved her, but she wasn't. She was feeling direct hatred toward Maia. Unfortunately, none of you knew that, so Aaleah's outburst could not be prevented... However, the deep seething hatred emanating from her... Anyone could sense that most prominently. Imagine how it feels for an empath, who literally feels what others are feeling?" She paused for a moment to let that sink in. "A magical promise can't shut down one's powers like that without spreading the curse. Such a strong emotion is a trigger for empathy to activate, thus her powers came flooding back. Unfortunately, she was still not hating Maia without any outside force interfering, but she was quite literally hating Maia. Hate ends friendships. The curse could not activate with an outside force interfering, but the very premise of it compelled the forces that binds her due to making the promise to do something. The conclusion, well... You saw the conclusion."
Maia listened patiently to Kaiko's explanation. After a few seconds of thinking it over, she maintained a worried expression and looked at Kaiko. "At this right she'll die anyways! Feeling that much at once will overload her brain! I.. I can't wrap my head around this power based off of emotions quick enough." She looked at Lorelei again. "Is there nothing we can do now that her power's gotten this powerful?"

"This is so messed up!" going next to Lorelei, Jayden sat next to her. He wanted to lean against her, like he usually did when things felt like this, but he didn't want to freak her out. Instead, he focused on calming his emotions, hoping at least the little change would help.

Kaiko sat down on her knees next to Lorelei. "I think... I might be able to do something. I've... Never really purposely used this power, since I recently discovered it, but I think I can force her to better control her powers. If I do it wrong, though... I could end up hurting her worse..."
Lorelei, still being conscious and able to hear everything going on, looked at Kaiko. "Please, make it stop!" She adorned a pleading expression as she desperately just wanted it to stop, "I don't care how, just make it stop!"
Kaiko nodded. "Then I need you to listen to my words closely. Don't tune me out, no matter what you're focusing on." After seeing Lorelei quickly nod, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She focused trying to summon the power she'd used before. Once she felt ready, she looked Lorelei in the eyes. "Focus on my voice. No matter what happens or what you do, focus on my voice." She spoke in separate commands, to ensure that the power worked. Seeing the look of complete attention on Lorelei's face, she continued. "Good. Now, focus on the emotions." "Determine the distance that you can feel the emotions coming from." "Make the distance smaller." "Even smaller." "Focus on just the emotions coming from right next to you." "Now make the distance even smaller." "Focus on the emotions you feel now." "Those are your emotions, and only yours. Separate them from any other emotions you might feel." "Note how they feel in comparison to the other emotions." "Note how close they feel." "Never let emotions coming from anywhere else feel the same as those emotions." "Never let other people's emotions feel that real." At this point, Kaiko started to fall over. Before she had only accidentally used the power, and now she was using it for so many commands at once. Despite how she would've liked to guide Lorelei to controlling her power more, but she couldn't keep herself sitting up anymore. Her eyes rolled upward as she closed them, passing out.
As Lorelei listened to Kaiko's commands she started shaking less. Once she was only feeling her own emotions, she stopped shaking all together. She continued listening to Kaiko's commands. When Kaiko stopped, she blinked a few times, seeming to come back to her own senses.

Seeing Kaiko pass out cause Akira to rush over. It had seemed like an unspoken rule to stay out of the drama, but when Kaiko stepped in and said Lorelei would die it felt as if this was a joke or a scene in a book or something. He saw Kaiko was breathing fine and hummed to himself as he picked her up. He looked at the others and silently left with Kaiko to stay out of the "Family Drama" as he deemed it.
Jayden didn't say anything, he barely moved or breathed thinking it would spook the older girl. He just sat with Aaleah in his arms watching to see what Lorelei would do and how she would act.
Not knowing how to "read the room" so to speak, Asuha spoke up "This friendship thing seems irrational and deadly." she concurred after she analyzed all that happened. She looked towards Maia "I believe you should abandon this ridiculous notion and live life logically. Being emotionally tied to another being can hinder ones own goals. Such as the meeting being disrupted for feelings of another which seem to come up a lot."

Maia looked at Asuha. "If it were not for this friendship, the planning would not have been taking place. Your logic is redundant in that regard. As emotions are something everyone experiences, it is important to learn about them in order to understand their reasoning behind things." She explained in her same monotone, her expression having gone back to it's normal, well, lack of expression. "Furthermore, the meeting was not interrupted due to the feelings of another. The meeting was interrupted by my own choice, my own feelings. I am proud of that, as it shows I am actually learning about these emotions, and my efforts have not been wasted." She paused, looking at Lorelei. "And anyway, being smart is nice and all, and it's all I've ever known, but... Well... Before I met Lorelei, I had no purpose. I was merely a genius being used as a puppet, as I had no ambitions of my own." She looked at Asuha again. "If you think about it that way, it's well worth any prices it might come with."
Lorelei listened to Maia's words as she breathed deeply, recovering from what just happened. She did not seem to be in pain anymore. She turned her head and looked at Jayden now, feeling up to forming coherent sentences again, calmly. "I'm sorry for scaring you. You can relax, Jayden. Thank you." She smiled at him.

Asuha tilted her head as she thought about it. Her ambition was to become one of the smartest people anyone has known and if smart, how can one be manipulated like a puppet if they care for no one? It did not add up and up. I do not understand." she thought perplexed pulling her hood down over her face. Maybe she could study this group more to understand, or read a book?
Jayden continued watched Lorelei and nodded stiffly. He let his guard down already, not again. This time he will be prepared whether its Lorelei or Aaleah, he will make sure nothing else happens.

Lorelei sighed. She sat up and looked Jayden in the eyes. "Thanks to Kaiko, I no longer have to stop myself from feeling other's emotions at all. You don't have to talk to me for me to know what you're feeling. Now, relax. I'm fine. Aaleah is fine. Understand?"
Maia sighed, seeming disappointed. "I see. Perhaps you will be able to understand when you are older." She stood up. "Now that Lorelei is okay I would like to get back to ensuring my future intelligence. Let us get back to sharing information." She walked back over to the rest of the group, however she ignored most. Instead, she focused merely on Mizuki and Masato. "I have narrowed down the necessary information for a most effective plan. I merely need information from you both, and little Asuha."
