An image flashed in front of Siber - it was like the one Joe had seen, a freakish monster. He saw it and was reminded in various ways of a mound of rotting flesh, a newborn creature of some type, and most kinds of insects, arachnids, or predators he had ever seen.

Second, you don't even know what it is as far as I can tell. xd ))

"Paul, just to add to that, I'm also seeing some very disturbing - but really biologically interesting - images here. Joe, are you getting these?" He furrowed his brow as he saw it. Yes, it was startling, but more... what was it?

((Kwaa? I thought we were getting feedback from the Necromantic Shadows... question ))
Joe looked at Siber with wry amusement. "Yeah. You try driving with that s**t popping up in your vision. Although...I can't really recall what it looked like. It's like trying to hold onto water. Or smoke."
It was the first time Roland had spoken since Joe had exited his Whitefire form. Roland! You're back!
Joe apologized profusely, focusing on that and driving.

Paul cocked an eyebrow. "Seriously? I thought it was axis. Axes? Huh." He paused, listening to Siber's comment. "Nothing back here like that... yet," he added. Last time he had gotten smart, it had happened right after the others. If this kept up Paul was going to stop the car. He didn't trust himself to be driving if his vision was tripping. "Siber, if I keep getting visions, I'm stopping. If this gets worse, we could be dangers to ourselves, and better to walk into a manhole than to drive into a building."
((Ha, Joe, my creations are waaaaaaaaay too simple for that kind of junk. Way too frontal too.))

((Really? Okay, I thought it was Necro-Shadow blasting, too. Whoops. Guess I'll have to adapt.))
"I guess. It still doesn't necessitate swerving," he told Joe. His mind raced. They could floor it now to escape and risk either Joe or Paul experiencing an unfortunate illusion and wrecking the plan, or they could stop and confront the enemy. Something wanted very badly for them to not get to the airport. Well... it all else failed, it was very possible for them to get each other there through various magical means. "We should get out." He repeated the same to Paul. "Running now only increases the risk for disaster."

Paul nodded slightly. "I agree. If this stops happening, then we'll get back to the cars, but if not... we'll try to see what exactly is going on here. We might also try calling Alan to see if he has anything. Somebody." He hit the brakes, pulling over to the side of the road, found an open patch of sidewalk (miraculously), and parked it. Getting out, he pulled the still Chameleonic-engaged Athena to his side. He couldn't techinically see the rifle, but he could feel it, and that was enough to fire from the hip if anything happened quickly.
((Venom, I was waiting on you with Fyrin...
Oh, and if it was the Necro-Shadow, it wouldn't be popping in occasionally; it would be sitting on your hood, screaming at you. They are, after all, made of shadow, and capable of disguising themselves to all three eyes. smile ))

((Oh. OK. Weeeeeell....whatever.))
Joe looked disbelieving. "Yeah, but you had the advantage of hearing about it from me beforehand. I had no idea that something crazy was going on." Which reminded him. Was it possible to communicate with his patron without bursting into flame? Joe set Roland to the task of finding out. There was much grumbling from Roland.

The building was, by this point, smoking. The black hole had receded and three demons were assembling together. They had already assumed humanoid forms as disguises. "What happened here?" Renard asked.
The transformed satyr looked at him. "Warlocks were holed up here. One of them nailed one of the low-rank new boys by surprising him on a staircase."

"Let's follow them," Fyrin suggested. "Fastest way would be by air," he added. He then spoke under his breath momentarily, and his robe began to be whipped about by a growing wind.
"They'll lead us straight to Legion," Fyrin added. "Warlocks frequently move to the cabal for protection when things go wrong. If they've done that, we can follow them right on back to where the rest are."
((By the way, Venom, what does Renard look like?))

Another one, the shadow demon from earlier, shook his head. "They lost us. Used a black-hole-ball to pin us down. That's how we know they were close to Legion - he's the only Warlock known to be able to combine shadows, elements, and enchanting." He groaned. "We have no clue where to find his lieutenants, basically."
((Renard has a leather jacket and otherwise organic cargo pants and a muscle shirt. He has short, parted black hair and purple eyes.
I'm going totally from memory here, if this contradicts something earlier, show me where and if it does, I'll actually consult my notes for his description instead of just trying to recite it from memory. xd ))

((Hm. If you get a chance to peek at your notes, do that for me, would you?))
Fyrin nodded slowly. "But... okay. Here's an idea. Eventually they'll have to leave. We set up sensors at all the outbound roads. Other than that, we place ourselves at the airport, the only fast way out of here. And perhaps Renard and my men can put efforts into catching up with them, they can't have gone far." The wind continued to pick up; slowly, Fyrin's bootsoles disconnected with the ground. Levitation through artful mastery of wind. No one else could even feel a breeze; the wind was very focused. It was clear Fyrin had spent a long time practicing this particular little bit of magic.
