There's various places like that around. that's nifty... would take a team of collectors, historians and craftsmen to that job.... or a few people who are specialists in a particular item that are skilled and knowledgable in all thre eof those fields as pertaining to the specific item they work on...

Not really. Just give it to anyone with skillful hands and they should do the job just as good. The difference is that toy/doll makers would probably do it faster and make it less noticable.
I had a neighbour who does folk art for a living. Her specialty is dolls, but she does so much more. And she's good at it.

I wish I could do folk art for a living. Though, I don't think Americans have anything close to folk art. Not unless we steal it from the Native Americans.
