I know... but we don't want to deter applicants if we do things too crazy. Why don't we keep your idea for Superman as a Plan B if we can't get an applicant for Superman when we start the reboot?

One of the comics I baught has Damian and d**k going undercover. damian is blond (not verry fitting of him lol) and d**k is an old man (who still does amazing flips for an old fart) I had fun at the comic con. It was smaller than the anim con I whent to but still fun. Johnny got a pic with and autograph of Tony Moore co-creator of the Walking Dead comics. I got a ton of cool toys (not as many as I wanted to get but I was being good and didn't blow all my money) And kids absolutly loved my costume. I had one little boy nearly fall out of his seat at the sports bar trying to get my attention. I had just barley missed the costume contest but I had a lot of people take my pics including some news paper stuff and somone who runs the C3 sight. So yay. I didn't take a lotta pics. It was a really small con and I'm sure most of the people in costume were there yesterday, but I share. 12345and 6

We were figuring that such a necessary role should go to someone who is gonna stick around, not disappear after ten, twenty, fifty, or however many posts.

Yes, but an evil Superman effects more than your characters, it effects the JL, and the whole rebooted universe.

I gotta say, I'm not keen on the idea of an actual evil Superman in the main RP. I mean, a temporary alliance switch is one thing, but Superman is central to the activities of the rest of the DC universe's flow. It just ******** up a lot of other characters backstories when he isn't there.
If we have an evil Superman, we'd likely have to have a good Lex Luthor just to even consider keeping the Justice League intact. I can see where you're coming from, kinda take it and twist it in a 'Red Son' manner, but that creates problems for other characters too. The Superfamily especially-- Evil Superman will likely lead to an evil Supergirl and Powergirl by association. Superboy might be able to stay intact but he'd be forced into a much MUCH larger role.
I really think that the Big 3 should be bound to their canon allegiances in the main RP, save a temporary switch due to some outside force influencing them. Full blown side switch is something better left to a side RP, not the main. I just don't see how it would work without forcing a lot of other compromises on other people's characters is all.

Well, you kinda need a better reasoning behind the character besides "I can play him for a long time" and "I think it would be cool for a canon Superman to be evil."

I didn't need more than those reasons to play any of my other canon characters, particularly Bane. It's not THAT difficult to rewrite history around an evil Superman. There's no reason why Supergirl can't take over Kal's original place, and Superboy could be Kara's clone instead of Kal's. It would give Wonder Woman the chance to be the head of the JL. It really doesn't change things as much as you seem to think it does. Superman could even be the reason the JL was created.

This is true, and I could see it working well that way, I just wish you had presented that argument before giving a primary reasoning of 'I think it would work better'. The idea may grow on me more as time passes, but I'm still not 100% sold.

What more would you need? I can write an entire alternate history on superman turning evil.

The problem is that everyone would have to adapt their history to fit your idea for Superman, everyone that had a connection to or was inspired by him would have to change it.

Only slightly. Anybody who would have been inspired by Superman could alternately be inspired by Supergirl or Wonder Woman.
If you're really that dead set against evil superman then I won't take him and we will be without one, yet again. It's not like I care.

Well when we reboot, we'll still be without a Batman and a Superman. Hell, the only official canon Justice League member we have for the reboot is Wonder Woman, maybe Flash if Sempai comes back.

It's different, but it's not really such a huge problem.
If Superman wasn't so vital that we were floating along without him then I think we can all survive him being evil, and if those of us with characters largely built around Superman can accept and adapt with minimal fuss then I don't see any reason why Superman couldn't be bad.
That said, it does drastically alter the playing field in terms of how we perceive the characters. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. It forces us to throw away our assumptions about the characters.
I might also add that we could just as easily alter the 'core 7', because it's not like that has never been changed, swapping out Hawkman with Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman with Black Canary, and more recently throwing in Cyborg as a founding member.
Something to think about.
