Sabu crouched down in front of a wide cave. He had just finished the time consuming task of disabling traps and motioned to the rest that it was time to proceed. "This place hasn't been touched in years... It has a...presence."

In the morning Rio woke to the small of cooking food. He pulled himself out of bed as he let out a big yawn and walked over to his Tomo Tree. He picked up a small pair of clipper from a rolled out tool kit and spent a good ten minutes trimming before he put his tools away and sealing his tree in its container. Rio sighed as he looked out the large windows that spanned one side of his room. His room over looked one of the many forested areas with the hidden ash. Birds and other small animal darted around at the edge of the trees.

After watching for a moment Rio moved to the bathroom and took his morning shower. He always felt strange after a fight were he was forced to regenerate more than one fourth his body mass. It was like part of his body wasn’t as strong as the rest or as experienced. He had told Kasa that once, no doubt he had done what he had done in the fight to leave him with a unwillingness to fight soon after.

After he was dressed he found that new Ohmu leather armor and liquid rock vests had been laid out to replace his damaged gear from his fight with Kasairyuu. Rio thanked his mother mentally as he rolled open his storage scroll and sealed the new protective gear in it, replacing the spares he was now wearing.

Once ready Rio strapped on his Tomo tree and made his way down the hall, knocking on Rin-Tao and Mai’s room as he said, “Time for breakfast.”

The dinning room was a room next to the courtyard with one of it’s walls a sliding door that was left open at the moment, allowing for a pleasant view of the large tree who’s leaves hung over half the yard swaying the morning breeze. The inner wall of the room was lined with pictures of stern looking men and women with dark green hair and eyes dressed in autumn colored samurai armor, previous heads of Rio’s house. The symbol of the Ohmu: a small tree was carved into the chest plate with the small dual fork symbol of the Seniju clan under the tree, showing the connection between the two clans throughout history. As intermingled as the root and the leaf.

The meal had barely begun when Onryou walked into the room, followed closely by another man in long red and black robes. His hair was also long, reaching his shoulder blades and black as night, his eyes the same. He carried a sword at his side much like Kira, though his sword’s hilt was headed with a pommel of black onyx shaped like the head of a panther and the blade was a one that curved back and forth like a snake.

“Rin-Tao-san, Mai-san, this is Tou Tenka,” Onryou said as he motioned to the man. “He has confirmed the location of the Kusanagi to be a temple within the land of fire, near its southern border.”

“Interesting in fact, that the leaf ninja have not made an attempt at retrieving and guarding the sword from Ifuuki yet.” Tenka said somewhat slyly as his gaze swept over Mai’s leaf symbol.

“That is rather unnecessary Tenka-kun,” Onryou said as he adjusted his clothes. “Besides, we must be on our way immediately, we have no idea when Ifuuki will move on the sword or how many she will bring with her.”

Tenka and Kira nodded before they both performed a summoning technique and a mixture of white tigers and black panthers appeared, one for each of the seven riders.

“We must make haste,” Onryou said as they all mounted the summons and took off immediately for the land of fire.

“So when are we going to this place anyway?” Tao Eiju said as he walked across the room towards Ifuuki. “And do we have to take the Bakuhatsu kid and you last little minion? I kind of have the feeling that there might be some actually big baddies if guarding the place if it’s all that you said it is. I don’t want to have to deal with them and any insects that might be buzzing around.”

Eiju grinned as his eyes flashed red for a moment. “I hope there are monks. I love killing those annoying monks. They pray to their gods and curse you even as you tear them apart. I think maybe if they had spent more time practicing and less time praying I might not have been able to kill them that easily. Not to say I wouldn’t have still killed them, it just might not be so utterly one sided.”

Akira and Issui had been wandering the halls of the headquarters for a few minutes before Akira had said he heard the sounds of battle coming from outside. They had almost reached the main doors when Akira said that the fighting had stopped and that only one person had returned through the doors.

At a loss for what to do the two wandered again until Akira said he heard the voices of Shinji and others. Following their voices the two arrived at the room they were in. Once they had entered Issui spoke to Shinji, “Have any of you gotten word about Ohmu Rio? He left in search of the boy I told you about, Bakuhatsu Kasairyuu. He is currently working with Ifuuki for unknown reasons so we tracked you down in the hopes that we would either find him or get word of him due to your constant encounters with the Bakufu.”
