Asuha stared silently at Maia for a few moments as she thought about what was said. She nodded while filing it away for further analyse and looked at the book. "I can figure it out with more time," she started arrogantly, but paused thinking about what she was just told. Tentatively and sounding unsure and hesitant she added "But, if you could...help me?" she finished in a question looked like she just murdered someone. Turning the book to Maia, she recited the paragraph as it was read "It says:
Of Winter Solstice, Upon hills high
Do they gather, six in all
Two of wings, Her fire they breath
Two of magic, He hides in the trees
Two of mystery, their tongue is cryptic
Of Earth and air, Fire and Water, Shadow and Light
One of great evil takes delight, the power of all within sight
Doom and shadow snuff out the light, unless one can stand and fight." She looked towards Maia as she waited "I think it has to do with what Shion wants."
"It's just that,""Well your never,""like that""With anyone""Not even us really, well not anymore""So it just weird." They finished lamely toeing the ground with little blushes."Not bad weird!""Yeah, just unexpected weird. Like eating an apple and it taste like dirt!"
Yuzuki sat silently next to Kaiko for a bit. "Sorry, for the fight, and scaring you." she said softly staring at her twitching brothers "If you need anything let me know, I will do my best to help." she added softly as her brothers groaned.
Sora groaned in discomfort as he tried to sit up. Feeling a hand gently keep him laying, he didn't move. "Ow, my stomach, what happened?" As he tried to remember, all that happened flashed through his mind "I was...stabbed." he said slowly.
Yuzuki nodded, still feeling guilty "You were, but Masato healed you and saved your life. You...you can't throw yourself in the middle of a fight like that. You could have died!"
"You would have killed your friend and it would have been all mine and Aki's fault. We only wanted you to doubt him, not try to kill him. We had a plan, it seemed so simple and it fell apart." Sora explained looking haunted "It went so bad so fast."

"That sounds like bad and unexpected weird, though!" Lorelei walked over to the two. "Maia was really the only friend I ever made in that village. Holo didn't count as she was obligated to be my friend. Maia and I are, like, each other's first friends." She explained.
"We have until after the winter solstice to save her, then. Good, we don't have to keep them safe forever. If the solstice passes and they're not where she needs them to be, she will no longer have an interest in capturing them. It is likely that she will either sell any she has captive to the highest bidder, or kill them outright." Maia explains her thought process aloud, for Asuha's benefit. "I had heard of a prophecy that Mizuki's mother had told, didn't really know what it was. Though I know that's the prophecy Shion was trying to fulfill. So she'll get ultimate power if she achieves her goal... That last verse, though.. It sounds like it's referring to another prophecy. Possibly one that Mizuki's mother never shared with anyone."
"I wasn't going to let her kill me, you idiot. I just didn't know if I could make her stop without hurting her." Masato decided to chime in, since the plan was already ruined. He's still too weak from blood loss to project his thoughts to only one person. In fact, he's lying on his back again at this point, finding it too hard to sit up.

Aaleah just glared in Maia's direction before she shrugged and walked away.
"If you say so." he muttered uneasy. His remembrance of their last encounter when Maia was around. "Um, I'm gonna go see if Sora is ok, you know, since he's up." not waiting for a reply, Jayden made a quick getaway.
Sora sighed "It didn't seem that way. It sounded like you wouldn't do anything if she tried to murder you. So, I stepped in, to tackle you, but we messed up and, yeah." he mumbled waving slightly at his stomach."
"Not we, me." a light voice said "If I did the teleportation right, you wouldn't have been stabbed." Akira mumbled.
"Isn't a prophecy going to happen?" Asuha asked slowly "From this script it was dated a while ago. I believe if we try to prevent this from coming to pass it will still happen. Kind of like a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy like the Oracle of Delphi and Prophecy of Perseus. A king was told his grandson, Perseus, would kill him. So the king cast them off to sea in a wooden box and were found by fisherman. They lived, and Perseus grew to hate the king and when he was old enough, went back and killed him." Asuha explained. If we try to stop it, it may still happen."
Raiko walked back slowly with several skinned rabbits, fur, sticks, herb plants, and wood. Setting up slightly away from where his sister was talking, Raiko proceeded to start a fire to cook his catch.

”It’s a possibility, however, focusing on that would leave them running in circles. There’s no guarantee that Shion will leave the twins alive even if they do what she wants, so if it is a self fulfilling prophecy, we would need to make sure we’re there to see it fulfilled. From the looks of the passage, it would be safe to assume that it means there’s a way to stop her after it’s fulfiled. The most logical thing based off of the passage would be the twins, since this entire prophecy is focused on the twins. If Shion’s half as smart as others claim and she knows this, she will attempt to eliminate them after they do her bidding. And with ultimate power... There’s no telling what she’d be able to do to us, or what she would do to us. ...She could possibly control our intelligence...” Maia’s voice trailed off with the last sentence as she experienced dread for the first time, then she went silent.
Kaiko looked over at Maia upon hearing her statement about Shion being unlikely to leave them unharmed after they did what she wanted. She looked nervous in a way. She quickly looked down at the ground, though, a gloomy aura about her. ”She promised... we made a deal... she’ll let us go if we do what she asks... r-right..?” She thought to herself.
Masato doesn’t say anything in response to Sora, merely because he’s not entirely sure he could say anything against that. He let out a small sigh.
Lorelei was confused by their reaction. She kind of knew they didn’t like Maia, but she thought that it had been worked out by now. She followed after Jayden and Aaleah, knowing that Maia told her to leave her alone right now anyway. She caught what Akira said and looked at him. ”You’re a child. You cannot be expected to have perfect control of your powers, if any at all! I don’t even have full control of my powers! Heck, I’m constantly using my power on myself because I can’t control another part of it. That’s why there’s such a thing as training.” Her caretaker instincts kicked in and she scolded Akira. It’s kind of a familiar scene, like when she would scold Aaleah during training.

Asuha frowned. She was only three! All she had was her intellect, if that was taken what would she do? Who would she be? "That is one disturbing thought." Asuha looked towards Maia "I do not wish to become incompetent."
Akira sat up and looked at Lorelei in shock, "But, but, Sora almost died! And-and we've practiced! We practiced lots! I hadn't slammed him into anything or misteleported him anywhere! In months!"
"She's right" Yuzuki said hesitantly still unsure if Akira was angry at her "You are but 12, things happen, especially since you were under stress and pressure."

Maia nods in agreement with Asuha. ”We must do everything we can to ensure that doesn’t happen. Even if that indeed means letting the prophecy come true. If we still have our intellect we’ll be able to do something after if it is necessary.” A determined expression adorned her face. ”First... we need to look at all the information. I suggest we share all the information we have that pertains to the situation with each other. You’re not incompetent, so it might be actually prove useful to work together in coming up with a plan. What do you say?”
”It can take years to master an ability, even longer to have it perfect in any scenario. Mizuki can’t even use her teleportation in combat. I would start by having someone actually teach you, so they can share their experience with you.”
Mizuki looked toward the ground as she walked over to Yuzuki, Sora, Akira, Lorelei, and Kaiko. She went straight up to Yuzuki. She was kind of behind Yuzuki when she stopped. She seemed to merely be staring at Yuzuki rather intimidatingly, despite the fact that she’s blind.

Asuha nodded "But we need to get everyone together and it seems they like to get divided and distracted very easily. Maybe we should get the few that are alone and get them towards the injured to speak, as the easiest and fastest course of action perhaps?"
Yuzuki looked behind at Mizuki. She stared at her a bit before feeling uncomfortable "Uh, can I help you?" she asked slowly a bit weirded out.
Raiko yawned as he stood with the cooked rabbit. Sighing at how troublesome this was, he walked around handing out the sticks of rabbit he seasoned and cooked. He saved extra meat for Asuha just in case, the others can fend for themselves.

Maia nodded. ”Agreed. I believe the most useful information would come from Mizuki and her brother.” She stood up and looked around. ”It would seem your brother brought back food for everyone. That’s perfect. Food is the best way to get everyone together and not distracted. This might work.” She went around and took the food Raiko just handed out, then the food Raiko still had. She then went over by Masato. Since he was the most injured, it made sense to lure people there to talk. ”Alright, everyone. If you want food you’ve got to come over here. We’re all going to eat together.” She announced. ”Especially you, Mizuki.”
Mizuki looked angry. She seemed to “stare” at Yuzuki for a bit longer until she seemed she was about to do something. Then, she heard Maia. She looked startled, as though brought out of a trance. After a few seconds, she replied, ”What a pain in the a**; fine.” as she walked over to Maia and took some food.
Kyumia looked at Maia. She was already by Masato so this worked out. She gleefully goes to get food, having been hungry.
Kylee looked at Maia with a curious expression. ”I assume this is part of one of your plans?” She asked as she retrieved food for herself, to which Maia responded with a nod.
Kaiko didn’t bother to move, instead just remaining sitting there looking down. She appeared lost in her thoughts, still having a gloomy aura about her.
Lorelei looked over at Maia, then at the food. Disgust adorned her expression as she saw what it was. ”I will not eat any rabbits!!” She protested. Despite this, she went over to Maia anyways. ”But if you want us to come over it must be for a reason, so I’ll come anyway... but I’m not happy about it!” She crossed her arms with a pout.
Masato looked at Maia with a blank expression. Just knowing how Maia is a little bit, he knew she wasn’t getting everyone together just to eat. He pushed himself off of the ground and sat up. Raising his left knee into the air, he leaned his arm across it. His right hand remained on the ground, helping to hold him up. It’s not like he could eat in this form, he just didn’t want to seem so weak when everyone was over there.

Asuha nibbled on her meat as she followed Maia towards Masato. She stood next to the demon as everyone came over for food and stared at the adult. She reached her hand out to touch one of the horns on his head to see if it was actually his horn or an accessory, she couldn't tell by looking and her brain was telling her it would be interesting to know.
"Man, so uncool." Raiko said as he slouched and followed Maia snatching a meat for himself and trying to grab what he was going to put away for his sister "You people are so troublesome."
Yuzuki's eyes followed Mizuki and she let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding. 'Weird.' standing up, she leaned over her brother "Well, Sora, I am going to carry you closer to get food and listen in on whatever is happening. "Akira, you can walk right? The chop to the neck should not have hurt you."
Akira nodded and slowly stood up., he stretched and saw Kaiko near him looking spaced out. Nudging her gently, Akira spoke softly to her "Hey, Kai, come get some food. We are gonna make a plan to get your sister."
"I can do it." He scoffed "I don't need to be carried, I'm 12." Trying to sit up alone Sora winced at how tender his stomach currently is. He felt himself be lifted as his sister said "Your body won't heal until you eat." Scowling with a light blush, Sora was carried the few feet . He grabbed meat for himself and Yuzuki as they passed Maia.
Jayden snatched a stick and sat near Sora "You okay dude? You look like s**t." he muttered playfully.
Sora scoffed "Whatever dude" he smirked, glad for the playfulness "At least I might get a scar that Katsuko will fawn over." he whispered so only his only competition could hear.
Jayden stared open mouthed at Sora before laughing and gently nudging his friend.
Aaleah went over, but didn't grab anything to eat since Maia was handing it out. She stood a bit away. Close enough to hear, but far enough so she was by herself. 'If I clone myself and talk to it, does that make me crazy?' she wondered as she waited.

Maia waited for everyone to come over before she spoke. "Come to think of it, most of you probably don't have useful information, but I suppose it's good to check. To be clear, I am not looking to form a plan with anyone. You're all far too incompetent to be involved in my plans. I can't bother to help you keep up with my pace. All I want from you is any information you have that pertains to the situation, alright? We'll start with those who are least likely to have useful information." She looked at Yuzuki. "So, that would be you to start with."Masato looked at Asuha, but he didn't do anything to stop her. She would find that it felt like armor, and if she moved it around a little she would find that it felt like it was hitting something. Thus, they are both real and an accessory, in a way. "Satisfied?" He finally spoke, well, projected his thoughts.Kaiko looked up at Akira. She rubbed her eyes and gave a firm nod. "O-Okay..." She stood up and walked over to the group, grabbing some food for herself. She didn't really seem to be paying attention, though.After getting some food, Mizuki sat herself next to Masato. She listened to everything as she ate.Lorelei grabbed food for Aaleah, then went over and sat next to her. She nudged her gently. "What's up?"Kyumia sat near the twins, near Jayden specifically. She tilted her head to the side upon hearing his and Sora's conversation.

"A bit....I'll be satisfied if I could take it off though." she murmered before turning towards the others as Maia started speaking. She nodded in agreement before asking Maia "I'm not though right?" She was coming to like Maia, more than her lazy brained brother. It showed as she unconsciously played with a ruffle on her dress and how she stood very close to the older girl.
"She was after my brothers." Yuzuki said with a shrug, "I had asked Masato to watch out for them to make sure she did not harm or kill them."
Aaleah shrugged and pulled her knees to her chest and hugged them "Contemplating if I make and talk to a clone and it talks back if I am considered crazy." she muttered Glaring when she looks up at Maia, but quickly looks at the dirt willing it to explode. "Didn't take you as a bunny muncher."

Mizuki seemed to stare at Yuzuki as she spoke, slowing down in eating as though getting lost in thought.
Maia looked at Asuha, her expression remaining blank, as always. "You seem to be able to keep up, at least. At such a young age, too. I've determined it would be beneficial for both of us even if I need to help you keep up at times." As she spoke she gave the remainder of the food to Asuha. She knew Lorelei would never forgive her if she ate any rabbits. She stared at Asuha awkwardly for a few seconds as she recalled how she'd seen Lorelei act with Jayden and Aaleah. She knelt down and patted Asuha somewhat awkwardly on the head, attempting to mimic a sort of affectionate disposition.
Lorelei looked startled as she looked at the food in her hands. She immediately dropped it. "What the hell... I'm not even hungry..." Her eyes widened as she realized she was feeling other people's emotions. As she focused on it, she started feeling more of them. She put her right hand on her head, staring ahead at nothing with a shocked expression on her face. "No no no no! Has it gotten too strong for my powers to suppress it?!"
Masato rolled his eye at Asuha's comment. He watched the interaction between her and Maia seeming somewhat amused.

Asuha blinked before she smiled a little with a blush. Blinking again, Asuha scowled as she felt weird before it went away "So, who would be next that has very little information? The children?"
Seeing the meat fall, Aaleah looked at Lorelei "You okay Lore?" she whispered, placing her hand on the older girls shoulder "You aren't looking too good."

Lorelei brought her other hand to her head as she closed her eyes tightly. Her ears folded onto her head as she brought her knees to her chest, her tail wrapping around her. "Ahh.. I can't handle this..." She muttered, not even meaning to say it out loud.
Maia nodded. "Yes, that's right." She looked around, to see where all the twins were. It was then that she noticed Lorelei's disposition. "Lorelei...?" Her eyes widened as she saw Lorelei basically curl up into a ball. "Lorelei! What's wrong?!" She rushed over to her friend.

Aaleah was about to comment when Maia came over. She scowled at the girls appearance and growled at her "Get lost" she demanded and stood in front of Lorelei to try and protect her. "She doesn't need to be crowded by the likes of you." Making a clone to check Lorelei, Aaleah stood to stop Maia from advancing. "Funny how none of this happens until you came around!
"What can I do to help?" Aaleah clone asked placing a hand on her back.
Asuha followed Maia to see what was happening. This was a great chance to experience this 'friendship' thing that Maia was trying to explain.
Jayden looked at Lorelei and frowned "Be back" he muttered to Sora as he jumped up and ran over to his sisters "What happened, whats going on?"
