As Jillian made her way along the wall between the Tranfiguration room, and the hallway, she could hear loud banging on the wall from inside the class room. Jillian stopped abruptly, as a boy jumped out of the Transfiguration room on one foot. "Uhm hello?" She said with a quiet giggle. "Was that you making all that noise? Are you alright?"

Madam Pomfrey looked at the young man with a quizzical eye as he stepped out from behind his house mate. Madam Pomfrey gently tilted Daniel's head up so she could look into his eye while simultaneously pulling out her wand. "Lumos," she said. The tip of her wand began glowing a soft blue color. Pomfrey, while still holding Daniel's chin, shinned the light into his eyes. "Hmm" she muttered.

Aideen grew slightly concerned when she heard Pomfrey mutter. I do hope that Daniel's alright, she thought. Aideen zoned back in when she heard Pomfrey's voice again.

"Nox." Pomfrey let go of Daniel's chin. " Well, you don't seem to have a concussion, Mr. Evans, but to be safe don't go to sleep for a few hours, and next time be more careful." Madam Pomfrey turned around to go do something else in the infirmary. After a few steps she turned back around. "Oh, and Ms. Quinn, thank you for taking care of your house mate and making sure he was fine." With that Pomfrey turned around again and walked further into the infirmary.

Devin stopped hopping and looked at Jillian. At first he was a bit surprised at her quiet, innocent sounding giggle, and thought that that was kind of cute. But it was soon overlapped with overcharged aggression and he exploded at her. "What're you laughing at? How about if I took some of my physical ideas and put it to practice on you!" The Slytherin snapped, not really meaning what he was saying.

Daniel had been rubbing one eye with a fist like a tired child, and gave Madam Pomfrey a great big yawn while she was talking as if to mock her. But he really was tired.
This was around the time he took an afternoon nap and he was getting tired.
When it was clear they were dismissed, the teen turned to Aideen and stretched with both his arms above his head while also giving another big yawn. "Well...that's that...I guess I should find some way to stay awake..."

Aideen walked out of the infirmary with Daniel, musing about what he could do to stay awake. "Well, she said nervously fidgeting with her robes, "you could read, or go for a walk." Aideen paused. She wasn't sure if any of these ideas sounded good to Daniel. Suddenly, an idea came to her. "Or you could play that muggle game I always see you playing." Aideen blushed at her comment and looked away. She began talking very quickly and wildly gesticulating with her hands trying to push that comment away with her words. "You know, she said mushing the two words together with her Irish accent, "the one with the demons." Aideen suddenly began to doubt herself, "Wait...no. That's not it." She looked down trying to think of what that game was about; Aideen then chanced a look at Daniel, trying to see his face to find out if he thought she was a complete idiot. Aideen blushed upon looking at him.

Daniel looked back at her, though with his head cocked to one side in wonder at what she was talking about. Muggle game? He thought to himself. "You mean Dungeons & Dragons?" The young Gryffindor asked, then crossed his arms and turned his back to her deep in thought. "I could but...I'm not that good of a Dungeon Master. And even then I'd need at least another person willing to take on 2 characters or more." Daniel Evans started to ramble not too deep in thought. "And then we'd have to find a set of die. Then the character creation takes forever. Jake usually can wip up something real quick. And my set is still in the works. Perhaps a dive into the history of Wizards Chess to solve a few of those problems I run into with character and enemy movement. And I still need to work on the insides of the castle itself..." And on, and on, and on...

Jillian pulled out her wand as te boy shouted rudely at her. "Just because you're in Slytherin you think you can shout at me, or threaten me?" her temper flared. "Well you listen up. I'm a Hufflepuff, and I've got more courage in my little toe than you do in your etire body. So you go ahead and make my day. I dare you." she said, her grandfather's words in her head. Jillian kept her wand at the ready in case this Slytherine really did decide to get physical. This would be the second false alarm today if that was the case.

Devin made a face when she declared what house she was from and he put out his hands to his sides, with his arms pressed against his body acting as if he had tiny wings. Then he danced around on his toes, flapping his hands and looking rather ridiculous. "Oooh...look at me..I'm a Hufflepuff." He whined using a high pitched voice that made his voice crack several times. His back was turned to her as he danced around. "I'm all mighty and powerful...I can be the second Potter boy...STUPEFY!" At the end of his little dance he suddenly whirled around with his wand in his hand pointed at Jillian as he screamed the spell. The jet of red light flickered out of the tip of his wand and lashed out towards the Hufflepuff.

Aideen smiled when Daniel looked at her, but became worried when he tilted his head to the side. Oh no, she though, I hope I haven't offended him. When he said the name that she'd forgotten Aideen breathed a quick sigh of relief. "OH! That's it!" Aideen said at the sudden recognition. "Dungeons and Dragons." She looked up to see Daniel turned away from her. Oh hell! I HAVE offended him. Way to go Aideen, she mentally scolded herself. Aideen zoned in, and heard Daniel going on and on about this game that she knew nothing about. From what she could understand from the very confusing jargon was that apparently he didn't want to play the game after all, or at least that's what it sounded like. I suppose he could just keep himself awake by talking about this game, she though, but instantly thought that it wasn't a good idea. Others might mistake him for being crazy. "Well," Aideen tried to interject, but Daniel just kept on talking. How to get his attention, Aideen mused. A light bulb went off in Aideen's head. She placed her hand, gently on Daniel's shoulder, "How about we just take a walk instead?"

Christopher had just made it around the corner where Jillian was when he noticed a Slytherin giving her some trouble. Christopher decided to stay out of it and was about to leave when he heard the Slytherin boy scream a curse at Jillian. Christopher didn't think that the Slytherin had the balls to even cast a spell in school, let alone near a classroom. "PROTEGO!" Christopher shouted, the spell flying out to encounter the stupefy spell, Christopher hoping to protect the innocent girl.

Daniel stopped in his ramblings feeling the hand on his shoulder and he turned to face Aideen with a sudden shocked expression. "T- Take a walk? Together? But that would make us look like we're dating! I- I don't mean I don't want to. I don't not want to! I mean...I do want to! But I mean, I'm no good. Not that I'm no good. I'm no good for you. I mean, you're not the problem. I just don't want to date you. NO! I didn't mean that. I meant that...I...I...I don't know..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Devin blinked when his curse bounced off the Shield Charm, but he didn't let his surprise stop him as he wordlessly casted the Silencio charm at Christopher, then another at Jillian.
Aideen didn't know what to say or do. She just stood there dumbly with her mouth partly open. She felt as if she had just taken a blow to the gut. She wasn't quite sure what Daniel was saying, and all she was able to piece together from his stammering was that he didn't want to date her. Good job, Aideen, she sarcastically thought to herself. Here's another classic example of you not knowing when someone obviously doesn't like you. She backed away trying to keep her tears back. "Oh," she softly said. "I...I..understand." She lied. "I...I.." Her words stuck in her throat. Trying to talk and not cry proved too difficult for Aideen, and a single tear rolled down her cheek. She turned away. "I should be going." With that, Aideen ran off towards the Gryffindor tower, and within that, her room.
The young Gryffindor reached out to Aideen to grab her arm but was too slow. "Aideen!" He called after her. Suddenly he started to panic. The cute girl that talked to him the most interpreted his words wrong and was now in tears because of him. He looked towards her and looked around her help, any kind of help. Jake help.
But no one was around.
How did their last conversation go? Daniel Evans squeezed his eyes shut pushing the fear of that voice coming back and he dove into his memory to a small conversation he and Jake were having.
"Look. There are a lot of ways to know how she feels about you, but only two sure fire ways that will get you instant results." He remembered Jake say. "You kiss her. Plain and simple. If she likes you, she'll kiss you back. If she doesn't, she'll break the kiss and slap you...hard."
"Well...what if she does both?" The words echoed in his head. Back then, and even now, there was always the fear of pain.
"Depends on her facial expression at the time really. Just do it, and if that happens, talk to her and see what went wrong."
Daniel blinked out of his memory and he looked towards where Aideen had gone. He didn't feel like getting slapped. But when was Jake ever to give Daniel tips that would get him hurt....don't answer that.
The young Gryffindor made up his mind and ran towards the Common Room in hopes to catch Aideen there.
But once there he feared the worst. He had asked the fat lady at the entrance if Aideen had come up, so if she wasn't in the Common Room than she was in her room.
Swallowing hard, Evans made his way towards the female dorm room, and once there he knocked on the door politely trying to swallow the butterflies floating around his stomach.
Aideen ran all the way back to her room in tears. If anybody got in her way she just quickly dodged them. When she finally got to her room she fell on her bed and quickly grabbed up her most prized stuffed animal, it was an orange and yellow cat that she had named Fluffy back when it was, well, fluffy. Now it was just an old matted thing. Aideen curled herself up into a ball around Fluffy and cried. "That's what you get," she said to herself, "for putting your heart out there." Aideen could hear her mother's voice in her head"Even the truth may be bitter"Suddenly Aideen heard a knock on her door. She uncurled herself and trudged the few steps from her bed to her door, all the while trying to wipe away the tears and snot from her face with Fluffy because Fluffy was the closest thing at hand. Aideen reached the door, and with a cracking and tear-stained voice said "Who is it?" as she slowly turned the knob. Not caring if the person on the other side of the door was going to answer, she opened the door enough to stick her torso out. When she did this, Aideen noticed that the person on the opposite side of her door was Daniel. All Aideen could do was stare at him with a look mixed with hurt, confusion and anger because no words could form in her mind or her throat, all the while the door swung open.
Just as the Slytherin cast his spell, Jillian heard another voice from around the corner. It was Christopher, the boy she'd met only a short time before. Not taking her eyes off of the Slytherin, Jillian silently disarmed his unknown spell as he pointed his wand at the Ravenclaw boy. Expelliarmus! she thought to herself. Immediately she followed her thought with Avis Oppungo. Suddenly, a flock of birds irrupted from Jillian's wand, and attacked her attacker.
Daniel Evans just stood there rubbing the back of his neck. He didn't know what was to happen but steeled himself for anything. When the door finally opened he looked up into the teary green eyes of Aideen, and all he had hoped for was broken.
He didn't know that his confusion with his own words would hurt someone so badly. Most others just laughed it off. Jake...Neville...the Slytherins. His eyes looked a little lower and he noticed Fluffy. Something caught in his throat as it reminded him of his own stuffed animal whom only his parents and Jake know of.
The young Gryffindor knew of the pain felt enough to grab and cuddle up to it.
Physically, all of Jake's words flew out the window as he walked up to Aideen. His arms wrapped around her as tears welled up in his eyes and he buried his face into her chest for a brief moment, before he pulled away and kissed Aideen's lips.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Devin casted Protego just after he launched out his second Silencio charm. And it was just in time as the disarming spell bounced away. But he blanched in surprise as the flock of birds flew into his face and started to attack him. He yelped in surprise and shock before starting to swat at the birds who were scratching at his face, trying to peck at his eyes and nose...and just being annoying. "Get them off! Get them off!" The Slytherin screamed, almost commanded.

He hobbled away from Jillian and Christopher, putting some distance between them before he opened both eyes and screamed, "Expulso!" His wand pointed straight up towards the ceiling but that wasn't his target. It was more of the air around him.

There was a violent explosion as a ball of air was created around Devin, molding to his body before expanding outwards flinging all the birds in several different directions. Most of his anger was poured into his words and the ball expanded more until there were craters on the walls, ceiling, and floor indicating that the explosion of air had expanded to the point where even stone had moved.
When the ball of air dissipated he glared at both Jillian and Christopher.

The Slytherin took a stance that could only be called stupid and imbalanced.
One foot was placed directly in front of the other as if he were standing on a balancing beam. His palms were pressed against each other with his wand in between and pointed towards his foes. And his eyes were closed.
While the explosive air held only a part of his anger, this next spell held all of it, and wielded it in a way that seemed impossible yet...

"Incendio." He hissed. The tip of his wand shot out a small flame, and it slowly grew stronger and stronger almost like the flame on a welding torch. Devin took up his wand in his right hand and pulled it back as the flame bursting out of it bent with the movement of his arm.
Wielding it like a whip he lashed out at the two with the flame, a slight hissing sound being emitted from between his teeth.
