Firefly was awesome stuff. I think the only series I own in its entirety is Monty Python's Flying Circus. xp I'm working on getting all of Dexter, though. (Showtime's charming serial killer, not the cartoon.)

Firefly was ahead of it's time. Didn't help that the idiots at FOX killed the show with how they marketed it. Morons.

Marketing plays an unfortunately overlarge roll in the lives, or at least births, of tv series.

They aired the episodes out of order because they felt they knew better. The episode Serenity set the introductions up along with the backstory and was aired 3 months after the show premiered. Also, FOX routinely preempted it with sporting events. Lord knows why they even bothered to pick it up if they were just going to screw with like that.

Well I don't know about that. I'm talking about any books that came out after the movies. I know there was at least one...

Heh. The only TV shows that I own the full series of would be Arrested Development and How I Met Your Mother. (Not including shows like Firefly and Clone High, which only ran for one season.)
Firefly is probably my favorite Joss Whedon venture, but I've never watched Buffy, so my window for comparison is a little narrow. It really was a very well done show that got cut down in it's prime, but hey - at least we got Serenity.

Ugh. Just found some Watchmen clips on YouTube. Really wish I hadn't. I had started to think Snyder might pull it off too.
There were some positives, of course, much of it coming from Jeffery Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson and Billy Crudup, who I'm sure will do extremely well in their roles. Malin Akerman looks to be doing better than I thought she would. Jackie Earl Haley's Batman impression, however, is less than fitting of the character, and Matt Goode doesn't look like he has the presence or the acting chops to pull off Veidt. Plus, I'm just now hearing that apparently Jon was in on Veidt's "end the world" plan, which doesn't make any sense, considering we've seen clips of Jon on Mars and Jon's outburst at the TV studio. My biggest gripe, however, is Snyder's complete abuse of slow-motion. I know Oni brought it up a while back, and I tried to rationalize that he might've only done that in the trailers for effect, but it looks like I was wrong. I guess Snyder realized that Watchmen doesn't have as many action scenes as he thought, so he'd make them last as long as possible. ******** 'em all.
Maybe Alan Moore and Terry Gilliam were right, and Watchmen is unfilmable.

I thought Watchmen was created with the intent of not "being filmable". Kind of.
