Jomei nodded from across the battle area, he was still a bit shook up but the show must go on. "Try to do something other than, um, that water attack..." He told the Shellos in an uncertain voice. He heard Junko issue the command for another try at Poison Sting from the other side.
It seemed that neither Pokemon were rid of their confusion yet and the two, completely oblivious to their trainers' presence, both charged straight towards each other. The Water Types collided with full force, and it sounded as if someone had thrown a wad of pudding against a big Jello square when their squishy bodies impacted. After the collision, they both staggered and then fell to the ground. A double knock-out!
The twin trainers had watched the event unfold with wide eyes. Once the Pokemon had fallen, they quietly recalled them to their respective pokeballs. There was a silent understanding among the two to never speak of the event again.
Junko released Hades from her grip. "Are you ready to battle?" she asked, hoping that the attack from before hadn't been too hard on the ghost.
"Yuuuoooo!" he cried happily. The specter was more than ready as he prepared himself for battle. Arms above his head and tongue out.
Pizza on the other hand wasn't ready for anything other than bed. Jomei knelt beside his Cyndaquil to give him a good shake. "Wake up you!" he said impatiently. "It's your turn!"
Pizza's eyes fluttered open, and the Fire Mouse yawned in the boy's face again. Now somewhat awake, the Fire Type trudged sleepily over to the designated fight area. He looked up at Hades and yawned a second time.

Miharu laughed as well and ran after the two other girls, realizing quite quickly that she was not a fast runner. That, and her shoes weren't exactly made for sprinting, either. It was almost scary how quickly the lovely, green scenery around them changed to stone and grey concrete, the trees and other greenery replaced by poles, signs and wires. Miharu also noticed the Radio Tower, rising up above everything else, busily broadcasting who-knows how many kilowatts worth of programs or whatever. Miharu had never been much of a radio listener growing up, though her father listened to it quite religiously.
Before long Miharu was straining to catch her breath and she had to stop, her chest hurting from all the running. "Where are we heading first?" she asked breathlessly, remembering that she still needed to make a quick stop at the Pokemon Center for Sparkle and Lily's sake.

At first, there was nothing but darkness, but then Kasiya became aware of another presence within her mind. She looked around slowly as it seemed very familiar, and then she could see Sabrina, standing before her. She tried to speak, to reach out, but her body felt as though it were paralyzed, and she couldn't move nor say so much as a single word. Then, she could hear Sabrina's voice, though as she looked up at the psychic, she could see that her mouth wasn't moving. Telepathy? So this isn't really a dream? the girl thought, her attention completely focused on Sabrina as she delved into the story of what had happened to her. At first it had seemed like just that, a story, but before long there were visuals to accompany it, and some of the scenes were played in her mind, vivid enough that Kasiya could swear that she'd been there when it happened. She hadn't actually encountered this Maorde man, but by the time Sabrina had finished her tale, she was quite glad that she hadn't.
"Sabrina..." she whispered quietly, feeling the tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm so happy that you're all right. Nina really needed you..." The visions faded from her mind but the information remained, and she opened her eyes, squinting hard to try and focus on the greenish creature that was looking down at her with a worried expression. "Portabello, it's you!" she cried, smiling up at the Mushroom Pokemon. "What happened, where am I?" She took in a deep breath and sat up slowly, looking around the unfamiliar room. Her head felt as though someone had filled it with water and dumped a couple of baby Goldeen inside, and she thought back to the dreamlike visions from Sabrina. "Is she really alive?" she asked, not really directing the question to anyone in particular, but the tears quickly drying on her cheeks were proof enough for her. She then realized she and the Breloom were not alone, and she looked over to see Mitsu lying on the bed beside her, still unconscious. "Oh, Mitsu!" she whimpered, taking her friend's hand in her own. "Are you all right? What happened to you?" Of course, she'd passed out right before Mitsu had used her powers to heal Mike, so the poor blonde girl was still clueless as to what had happened. "Everything is so messed up," she wailed, nuzzling the purple-haired girl's hand with her cheek. "I want things normal again..."
=-=-=-=-= When Jaeshan arrived at the pier he quickly realized that there had only been one problem with this situation - he had no idea which yacht belonged to his parents. He dismounted his bike and folded it up neatly before stowing it in his pack, knowing it would be impossible to bike around on all the docks. He wandered around for maybe ten minutes before he took out his phone, deciding it would be easier to call his parents and just have them give him directions, but a very familiar chittering soon caught his attention, and he looked up to see Butterfree eagerly fluttering towards him. "Hey! Butterfree!" he laughed, reaching up to pat the butterfly as she landed atop his head. "What are you doing here?"
The butterfly squeaked happily and fluttered ahead, using one of her tiny hands to point. Jaeshan followed the gesture to where a rather large and very new looking vessel awaited. His father stood on the connecting dock, wearing a rather fitting captain's hat and a broad grin, clearly glad to see his son. His mother was already on board, and she was waving eagerly, a familiar Grass-type Pokemon perched by her side - Victreebel! Jaeshan came to a stop once he'd reached his father, panting a little from the short run. "Father," he said, nodding politely. "It's good to see you."
"Likewise, Jaeshan," Mr Devereaux said, clapping his son on the back. "Glad you could make it."
"Ooh, there's my boy!" squealed his mother, quickly making her way down the boarding ramp and throwing her arms around her son. Jaeshan smiled and hugged his mother, slightly amused by the fact that he was taller than she was now. "I've missed you so much!"
"I've missed you too, Mom," he admitted, looking up as Victreebel let out a happy squeal as well. "What are my Pokemon doing here?" he asked, looking around for Nidoking.
"Your mother has gotten quite attached to these two," his father answered, "so we decided to bring them with us. We left Nidoking behind because he doesn't seem to like water so much, and we figured he'd make a damned fine security guard back home."
"Yeah, that works," Jaeshan said, laughing as he imagined Nidoking chasing down intruders in a murderous rage. He also couldn't help but like the fact that his parents and Pokemon were getting along. It only added to the fact that they had truly accepted his decision to be a trainer.

Warm. It was really warm. Not the kind of warm that borders on hot and makes you uncomfortable but the pleasant kind that makes you want to snuggle closer to whatever the source of the heat may be. Unknown to Mitsu the source was really Mike who had been unusually warmer than the average person since his revival. She wasn’t use to the heat, though from some odd reason it was reassuring and comforting, though the feeling was fleeting as the atmosphere around her soon changed. Granted, it was only a bit cooler but still very hot. And this time the heat wasn’t pleasant. Nitro had since laid her on a bed, hoping to speed up her recovery. The volcano made the room scorching by the girl’s standards and there was no familiarity in its warmth.
Heat was sometimes unbearable. Clearly, this was one of those times. Mitsu shifted in the bed, wrinkling her brow in pain. An image of Sabrina appeared in her mind, telling her of the recent events that both she and Nina had endured. Mitsu was truly happy that the girl was still alive. She half chuckled, thinking only Sabrina could have come up with such an elaborate plot, though she was quite happy to know that it all worked out for the best. So much misfortune had befallen her friends, she could only be happy that despite the hardships they were still doing okay.
Even after the message was relayed Mitsu still couldn’t break the grasp of the dream world she was in. She felt like she was trapped in a black box, unable to escape or even move her physical body. The black void soon began to fill itself with trees and bushes and they quickly evolved into a massive forest. Pokemon began to dot the newly created landscape. They looked happy, living their daily lives in their new home. Suddenly the entire scene caught fire. Orange, red, yellow. Trees burned, ashes fell to the charred floor as the fire licked everything it could reach, greedily swallowing the forest in its billowing, shimmering wave. Mitsu eyes and expression revealed nothing but pure horror as she watched the scene unfold, unable to move or do anything to stop the fire. Worse than the burning forest, however, were the cries of the Pokemon. Many ran, but some simply could not escape. They burned under the intense heat, crying pathetically. They all echoed each other, “It’s your fault. It’s your fault. It’s your fault,” they cried at the terrified girl as they continued to burn. . .
“I didn’t mean to kill them!” Mitsu shrieked, shooting up from the bed. The look of horror she wore now mirrored the one that had been plastered on her face in her nightmare. She was breathing heavily, a few tears streaming down her face. How many times did she have to relive that day? It took her several moments to calm down, her breathing slowing down to match. Only then did she realize that Kasiya was next to her and only then did she realize she was squeezing her hand too tightly. “I’m sorry,” Mitsu apologized, relaxing her grip, “I had a nightmare. I guess I fell unconscious after I healed Mike. . .”
Mitsu turned to Portabello, quite aware of his ability to read minds. She could only hope that he hadn’t witnessed what she just envisioned. No one could know about it. It was better that way. She tried to smile at the Pokemon, “It’s nice to see you again, Portabello.”

Riza looked from Fantina to Ryka as she asked a question, and the raven haired girl nodded. "Yes, I am," she answered, but quickly corrected herself. "Well, actually I am a Coordinator-in-training. I will be one once I enter and win the Cerulean City Pokemon Contest!" Her previous annoyances with Crenu seemed to be temporarily forgotten as she pumped her fist into the air. She couldn't wait for that contest to begin, though she did want to do some last-minute training with her Pokemon so that her combinations would be in tip top shape.
"Ooh, c'est merveilleux!" Fantina beamed, clapping at the answer despite the fact that Ryka had asked the question. "And you are très confiant, too, I like zat very much." They had since started walking again, mostly due to the fact that Fantina was leading, and she nodded towards the quiet figure that was Crenu. He'd yet to say a word, and while it was not surprising to Riza, Fantina found it to be very off-putting. "And what about your friend, 'ere? Iz he a coordonnateur, as well?"
Riza looked towards Crenu as well, and nodded. "Yes, he's also in training for contests," she said, looking over at Ryka, assuming the purple-clad girl was a coordinator as well. It seemed logical, seeing as how she was traveling with a world-famous one such as Fantina. "Are you going to enter the Cerulean Contest too?" she asked Ryka, her eyes narrowed lightly at the prospect of having a rival already. * * * * * "Oh, that might have been too much for him," Katie grimaced, watching as her little Elekid got back to his feet, a little shaken from that Shadow Ball. He let out an angry growl, electricity sparking brightly between his prongs. He knew that Seraphim was stronger than he was, and he felt slightly angry at himself for getting scared and forgetting to dodge. He didn't wait for Katie to issue him another order and he sent another rain of glowing stars speeding towards the Roselia. He had a point to prove now!
Seraphim had brought her 'hands' up to her mouth, feeling a little bad for putting so much power into her Shadow ball. The little Elekid had got back to his feet very quickly, however, and before she knew what was happening more golden stars were slamming into her body. It hurt much more than before and she wondered if perhaps she'd just been struck by a critical hit. She shook it off and looked over at her trainer, wondering what she should do next. "Magical Leaf," Katie said, tapping her chin with her finger.
The Roselia did a quick spin, and a bunch of multi-coloured leaves all seemed to shoot up from her petals before they sped towards Kord, homing in on him in the exact same manner that his previous Swift attacks had. Kord, however, didn't seem to realize that this attack would not miss and he did his best to dodge, jumping and tucking and even trying to fake them out, but they quickly caught up to him and pelted him in the back and caused him to fall face first to the ground. "Ele...biii..." he whimpered weakly, signalling that he was very much done.

Sam, who had fallen behind as she was a terrible runner, forwarded Miharu's question to Kya, who shrugged and slowed a few yards ahead. "If you want, we could head to either the Center or the store first. It can never hurt to make sure your Pokemon is at full health, right? My home is near the southern limits, so I won't have to backtrack or anything. Besides, I'm in no hurry to leave just yet. Too much excitement." Kya's face glowed with happiness. Sam considered the options. Now that they were within, the limits she could see the special buildings, the Gym, the Radio Tower, the Pokecenter, and the Department Store standing out from the other uniform buildings. She saw that the Department Store was just across the stree from the Pokemon Center.
"Let's go to the Center first. I don't want to get sidetracked by all the merchandise and forget to stop there. That okay with you Miharu?"

The surface of the small pond that connected the short route and Rustboro was wonderfully calm as a series of footfalls echoed across the peaceful area. Jett smiled as he neared the city, hands stuffed in his pockets.
"There's the PokeMart," he noted as he passed the blue-topped building, before continuing along the street and reaching his first destination: the PokeCenter. He smiled again, walking in through the doors to be welcomed none other than a cool blast of air. "Aaahhh."
The trainer was reluctant to hand off his two Pokeballs at first, but with a reassuring smile from Nurse Joy, he gently placed them in the tray. Jett merely sat in the chairs as his Pokemon were healed, growing lost in his thoughts.
I'm so close... but far from ready. I want Wurmple fully evolved... and River. I hope she'll get another move soon. I wonder how long I'll be training...
"Excuse me?" a soft voice asked from the counter, breaking Jett from his inner-monologue. "Your Pokemon are ready!"
"Thank you!" Jett smiled, collecting his Pokemon. He swiftly left the building, heading with a fierce determination back to the short route. It was time to start training.

It wasn't long before the vessel set sail, though Jaeshan still didn't know their destination. Even though he'd been on many boat rides in his life by this point, he couldn't help but be excited. He leaned against the railing, enjoying the feeling of the wind and the spray of the waves on his face. He'd been in that position since they'd first left port, though it wasn't until he heard his mother calling out to him that he broke out of his happy little trance. "Yeah?" he asked, reluctantly pulling away from the railing.
"Whatever happened to that cute little chick Pokemon of yours?" she asked, now lounging in one of those funky pull-out beach chair things on the deck. Victreebel had taken up residence in the one next to her, and appeared to already be dozing.
Jaeshan blinked a few times before he realized what she was talking about. "Oh, you mean Torchic," he said, grinning. "Well, she isn't so little anymore," he went on, before releasing the now fully-grown Blaziken from her Pokeball. The Blaze Pokemon looked around somewhat fearfully when she realized she was surrounded by water, but she saw Jaeshan, and his parents, and relaxed quite quickly. She recognized his mother as well, and she grinned and gave a bit of a wave.
"Oh my word!" she cried, lifting up her sunglasses to look at Blaziken. "Jaeshan, honey, are you sure this is the same Pokemon?" Victreebel had opened his eyes as well, and was eying the Fire-type warily. This couldn't be the same scrawny little runt from before, could it?
"Yes, Mother," Jaeshan replied with a nod. "She evolved from Torchic and became Combusken, and then she evolved once more, and now she's Blaziken." Blaziken seemed to preen at this and she stood up straight and tall.
"That's incredible," Mrs Devereaux said, still gazing up at Blaziken in awe. "And what of your other Pokemon?"

The Wing Fish pokemon let out a cry as it jumped a few feet to the left neatly avoiding the flying rocks. The small water type pokemon glared at the small clay doll pokemon, he was going to show it! Glowering at the doll Frilly waited for his new trainer to let out her next order. He was ready for anything! "Come on lets use your... umm... Rain Dance! You can use that right?" 'Molly' ordered of her Finneon. Could he use Rain Dance? Of course he could use Rain Dance! Glowing blue the Finneon started to summon up a small bit of dark clouds and soon it started to pour cats and dogs. "Oh yeah! Good work Frilly!"
Hmm this could be bad. The rain wouldn't really hurt Xannon but he really wouldn't like the rain either. "Xannon use Confusion." Dante finally decided on ordering after a few seconds of thought. Xannon probably could only last for one hit so he had to do more damage before his pokemon got knocked out. Still the ancient clay doll pokemon was doing a lot better then Dante had expected. He would have to work on him some more in order to get him up higher. In front of him Xannon released a wave of psychic power blasting the Wing Fish pokemon a few feet away.
"Oh no Finny! Get up!" The small little fish pokemon winced but picked itself up with the help of his small little front fins. What was wrong with his trainer over reacting like that. It didn't hurt that much. Ok so yeah it really hurt. Looking back at his trainer the Finneon glared at her before deciding to take things into his own hands, er, fins. Taking a deep breath the Finneon filled his mouth with water and blasted the Water Gun towards Xannon.
The blast of water hit the poor clay doll pokemon sending him spinning before Xannon fell done. He was out just like Dante had predicted he would. Still he had done well. "Good job Xannon." Dante congratulated as he recalled his pokemon back into his pokeball. Now who else would he send out? Maybe he could send out Hera, or maybe he should send out Turn A? Well there were three pokemon to be used in this match, if they took down Hera then he could send out Turn A. With that thought in mind Dante reached over for Hera's pokeball but he didn't really get a chance to send her out because Apollo decided that he wanted to fight. The mighty fire horse stepped onto the battlefield his silvery mane flaring up high as he used his own Sunny Day to cancel out the Rain Dance from earlier. It seemed that he didn't like the rain from before either. "Ok, well it looks like your up Apollo." Dante frowned slightly as he stared at Apollo, not to happy that he fire horse went out without his orders.

Okay, I really need to get myself into better shape, Miharu thought, clutching her chest as they finally neared their destination, though it made her feel a little better to see that Sam wasn't a very strong runner either. She looked towards the Pokemon Center almost gratefully, knowing the air in there would be climate-controlled and she could easily grab herself a cool drink from the vending machine. "Yes... that's fine..." she managed, throwing in a nod for good measure just in case her words were drowned out by her wheezing.
She sighed happily as they entered the building with the ever-prominent red roof, and she quickly dropped off Sparkle and Lily's PokeBalls with the nurse for treatment. Her next stop was of course the vending machine, and after a moment or so of careful thought she chose a raspberry-flavoured water. "Okay, that was all my exercise for the next decade," she groaned, flopping down on the most comfortable looking couch she could find.

Sam and Kya both breathed a sigh of relief as they entered the air-conditioned Pokemon Center, and they quickly dropped off their own Pokemon, then joined Miharu on the couch. "I'm right there with you, Miharu," Sam said, still breathing hard. Kya laughed easily.
"Oh you guys! I guess it's cause in small towns you don't have to go very far huh? I had to get myself fit just to walk to the Radio Tower here!" Sam blushed a bit.
"Well, it's not like I was utterly lazy, I mean, I do go swimming all the time. I'm a literal fish. I'm just not very fast, and excersize is so boring." Kya held up her hands, laughing still.
"Oh I didn't mean to imply you were lazy Sam! I just meant...Oh never mind what I meant, I guess it doesn't sound too good huh?" Sam nodded in agreement, before leaning back into the plush couch. She closed her eyes, and hummed a lullaby happily. Kya heard Sam's name and her own being called, and she got up to retrieve their Pokemon.

"Cherrygrove isn't that small," Miharu said sharply, looking over at Kya. She was smirking, mostly to show that she was going along with the comment. "After all, if it were that small, they probably wouldn't hold the annual Cherry Blossom Festival there, now would they?" She had to agree with Sam, though. She wasn't exactly lazy, but she hated exercise. "Besides, I'm a painter. I don't thrive on running," she added with a laugh, standing up to claim her own Pokemon as her name had been called. She clipped the two spheres back onto her belt and downed the rest of her raspberry water before placing the empty bottle in a receptacle for plastics. "On to the Department Store now, I presume?" she asked, though she didn't rush towards the exit of the Pokemon Center. She would gladly bask in the cool air-conditioned facility as long as she could.

Kya, pocketing her own Pokeballs, smiled uncertainly. "Oh, I've been to the Cherry Blossom Festival. It was so much fun there! That's actually where I got my Aipom. He just hasn't been trained much since he hatched. Aiden is just my little buddy. I'm sorry if I offended you Miharu," she said, though she had to hide a smile because she was sure Miharu was joking. It couldn't hurt to apologize though.
"A painter? Really...What do you paint? Still life? Landscape? Pokemon? I have no artistic ability, but I enjoy painting," Sam said, speaking over Kya. Kya looked surprised at Sam's interruption. Sam shrugged in response. "Yeah, let's head out to the store. Wanna make a mad dash for the air conditioning? Though why I feel like running again I haven't the slightest idea." Kya nodded, and Sam had already made up her mind. She stood before the doors, which automatically opened. "1...2...3!" She started running for the set of doors directly across from her.

Jaeshan released his other five Pokemon all at once, though the only ones Mrs Devereaux would recognize would be Mightyena and Shelgon. Mightyena had padded over to Jaeshan's mother and sat down by her side, having remembered how well she'd taken care of him. He also understood that she was his trainer's mother, and by association he felt the need to protect her as well. Metang kind of hovered near the rear of the vessel, watching the ripples spreading out from the ship's wake. The Steel/Psychic type wasn't really interested in hanging out with Jaeshan's family or other Pokemon, but he did enjoy the cool sea breeze. Shelgon and Beedrill were happy enough just lounging about on deck while the young Squirtle found a new friend in Mrs Devereaux as well. He'd hopped up onto her lap and the two were now snoozing in the late afternoon sun.
"Where exactly are we headed, Father?" Jaeshan asked some time later, now positioned at the helm. He didn't know a lot about sailing but he had strong enough hands to keep them on a steady course.
"No where in particular," Mr Devereaux answered. "After all, it has been such a long time since we all vacationed together as a family."
Jaeshan nodded in agreement, keeping his hands firmly on the helm as he thought back to the last time he and his parents had been on a cruise like this one. He'd only been about eight or nine years old and this was long before the feud over his future career had started. Before then, he and his parents had never fought, not even over things such as Jaeshan eating all of his vegetables or even bedtimes. He smiled to himself, quite thankful that he'd finally had the nerve to stand up to them and tell them what he wanted.

There were a few stops along the way to Mohogany Base due to various actions designed to cover the trail of the nefarious gang. Although the base was previously destoryed, Team Rocket managed to rebuild it on the sly and now it was a fully functional place of research. For the past few days Claire had been undergoing tests to regain her lost memories while continuing her training as an agent of the team. Unfortunately for Claire, these tests were continuing to fog her memories.
“Okay Yokai,” Claire shouted as the Gastly dodged another Tackle from a Sentret by phasing through it, “Let’s use Hypnosis again.” The silvery specter gave a mischievous grin as his eyes began to glow with his tell-tale icy blue energy. Soon the ghost released the energy in hypnotic rays that quickly ensnared the poor Sentret. Claire sighed and clutched her pendant. She had recently found the charm in her belongings and holding the brilliant, multicolored feather at the end seemed to calm her mind. “Hey, hey!” Another man shouted as he walked up. “I think we’ve had enough of this training. As head of new recruiting here at Mohogany Base, it’s my job to make sure you train with people of the correct level. We can’t have our sharpest going soft by messing with the minor grunts, no offense,” the man motioned to the members opposite Claire.
“If that’s true Trainer Moti Lotus, sir, then you’re going soft.” The boy with the Sentret added as he began to pick up his snoozing Pokemon.
“Oh don’t worry about little old me, I’ve got plenty of things that I do to keep myself sharp. Plus this Claire girl seems like she’ll be a worthy adversary.” Moti added rubbing his nose. He turned to give her a proper once over gazing from foot to the tallest strand of her somewhat unruly, blonde hair. His gaze only lingered once, upon the strange feather pendant she clutched to her breast. “That’s an interesting charm you’ve got there, I’ve heard about your current issue. Is it safe to assume that you don’t recall how you obtained it?” The girl gave a short nod no, sadly she couldn’t remember when or where she obtained the strange feather necklace or even what the feather was from although it seemed very important for some reason.“Ah well, I suppose it wouldn’t go with my wardrobe anyway.” Moti added with a rather loud sigh scratching his bright orange hair. He looked to his lilac shirt with its small white lotus flower insignia at his heart and his rather standard blue jeans. “Okay, okay! Now everyone over there!” Moti ordered as he released his ever-reliable Espeon, Yang.
“Now we’re all here for a reason. For some of us, it is because we just wanted to be a part of something bigger, because we needed somewhere to go to and somewhere to belong, and this certainly fits the bill. For some of us, it is because we wanted to have power, and Team Rocket certainly offers a type of power. For others, we’re not sure why we’re here, but here we are. I hope you all are thinking about why you’re here and what you truly want to do with your lives…” He trailed off, gazing into the distance for dramatic effect.
“But enough of that, you can think of great questions like these later, for what we want and what we can do are two separate things. So to give ourselves a chance of being able to do more of the things we want to do, at this time we train!” Moti said as he tossed a hand into the air.
