"Anekio-sensei... Yuhi-sama..." Ran murmered, giving a slight frown. "I could deal with the guards being there, but... Did something happen?" she asked. "I heard fighting, and then Tori-san was in here... and, the guards became a bit more edgy after everything went silent again."

Yuhi fell silent and cast his gaze down to the floor. "Yeah, something happened. That b*****d killed a nurse...and my father." his fists clenched in anger and he fought to keep his growing rage under control. "Hopefully we'll have him in our custody tonight. Anekio and I will be here with you in case he makes it this far."

Anekio sighed, looking down at the ground as well. "We'll handle it, so don't try to think of it to much, Ran." She almost laughted, remembering the ending to Yuhi's name, "Don't call him 'sama,' he already has a big head."

Ran managed a slight smile, but that faded. "But... if he killed people... he'll only kill more..." She murmured. "I... don't want other people to be unhappy just because of me... "

"Even if you weren't here, this would be happening. He's not only after you, Ran." Yuhi went over to stand beside the window. "He'll probably go after Tori first, then come for you. Hopefully, there'll be some ANBU waiting for him."

"Don't think of it like that." Anekio looked towards the window, but held out her box of pocky to Ran. "Sometimes it's just somebody's time to go, and either way it was fated to happen." She looked over at Yuhi, "Hopefully? I thought you were going to get some." She sighed and rolled her eyes, "Never send a man to do a woman's job, I suppose."

"What's that supposed to mean...?" Ran mumbled, blinking at the offered box, but giving a slight 'no thanks', pushing it back to Anekio. "If I weren't here..." She started, but didn't finish her sentence, thinking it through.

"Forget it, you're still young." Anekio smiled and pulled the box away, setting it down beside her. "If you weren't here, I wouldn't have a team I need to teach." She finished for Ran, giving a small nod after.

"If I weren't here, Ninechien would be in your group, and you'd probably be off training right now..." the Kaguya mumbled, stretching back out, again on the bed. "No matter... it doesn't matter... nothing matters..." she mumbled, mostly to herself.

"Or I'd quit being a teacher." Anekio grumbled under her breath. "I've got nothing against the kid, minus the fact he steals women's undergarments from their houses." She looked over at Yuhi, "You know, you've got a point. I thought old people were supposed to be depressed, unless they were like Lee-san and the infamous Gai-san."

"I guess they've become more strict in the academy now or something." Yuhi pulled a bag of chips out of one of the bags and opened it. "Ran, if you're feeling better tomorrow, you might be able to get out of here. You just need to find someone to be your guardian until this problem is taken care of."

"Nobody would take me in... and I won't let either of you, or even Tori-san... " Ran murmured. She sat up again, seeming a bit restless, and grabbed a bag, starting to look through it for something to eat. Her eyes lit up slightly as she pulled out a bag of seaweed-rice snacks. Setting the other bag back, she opened the one she'd grabbed and snacked on them. "Besides... with the coughing, and all, I doubt they'd even let me go..."
