Newscaster Billy Batson I just haven't gotten around to it I guess. Didn't watch when it started and was put off by the giant hoopla because I'm snooty. Seems to be a consensus. Now I'd have to borrow some DVDs to watch it, and when doing that I'd have to put up with all the hoopla about, "OMGYHAVUNOTSEEEEEEEENIT!" as if by not watching the show I've been living under a rock. There is life with tv! I can prove it! I live it! It's too much hassle now for me to care, especially when people treat "make her watch Lost" similarly to "make her find Jesus."

I still haven't seen Lost. And I plan not to buy into it. I'm starting to notice, book and show loved by many fans who read/watch it religously must not be that good. Ex: Twilight, most anime on Adult Swim, comics by Jeph Lobe LLOOOOOOOOBBBBEEEE!! scream (shake fist in anger at sky)
not only that, but some time it might start good then fall flat on it's face. case in point, Heroes. I use to like the show, but then season two started, and then it died to me.

All you people not watching Lost makes me sad lol. No i understand if you don't watch it especially now if you haven't seen previous seasons. I feel bad for anyone just getting into the show now.

I watched the first couple seasons. Actually a very good show. Haven't bothered to get the third season DVDs and am in no hurry to, but I definitely liked what I saw, even if it is incredibly overrated and not nearly as clever or consistent as its viewership likes to think.

I'm usually someone who only watches TV when I know there's going to be an old movie on, or when my sister has the TV on for her shows. Now I find myself wishing that I had the BBC channel. I've been watching a ton of their shows online ever since my friend started me watching the new Dr. Who. I've torn my way through that, Torchwood, intermittent episodes of QI, Blackpool, and Black Books, and now I'm watching what I think might be the only show currently airing, called Being Human. (George the awkward werewolf is definitely my favorite.)
Why is it that British television seems so much better? I was forced to watch that "Secret Life of an American Teenager" drivel the other day (see the aforementioned sister) and wanted to bash my head in on the nearest wall. CHRIST, but it is bad. Everything seems to be lol teen drama or Doctors doing Doctors. (I'm looking at you, Gray's Anatomy.)
tl;dr I like Brit TV much better, and am wondering if anyone has further recommendations and favorites. :B

Brit TV? Spaced is great, and I've been looking to get into Life on Mars and Skins for a while now, but apart from that, I usually stick with American stuff.
A current favorite from this side of the pond is Burn Notice. Granted, I only started watching because of Bruce Campbell, but he's not even the best part of the show. Apart from that, my TV habits consist of the usual 24, House and How I Met Your Mother, though I'm considering getting back into Heroes as of Loeb's departure, and Lie To Me has been interesting so far. (Isn't Tim Roth awesome?)

And hey, I only started watching Sons of Anarchy for the Ron Perlman, but I totally stuck around for the awesome biker machinations.
Come to think of, there is some terribly geeky show that my sister catches the tail end of, that I should probably learn the name of and try to watch, It seems pretty fun.

I watched 24 for a season or two, now I find the show pretty much impossible. I still haven't given Firefly too much of a try if only because I only seem to come across it when I'm easily distracted.
Mad Men is absolutely on my list of things to watch though. Why oh why isn't it online?

But there are always torrents. ninja
