"Switch lasers to quad-linked, Shiela," Jakar ordered. The Zabrak flew his X-Wing behind three TIEs. Interceptor in the lead, fighters left and right. Jakar fired a burst of four red laser bolts towards the TIE on the left, two shots missed. He fired another, each making hits and decimating the TIE. He fired one torpedo at the fighter on the right, making a direct hit and blowing it away.

The leading Interceptor quickly made a U-turn to port. Jakar quickly followed, although not as sleekly done as the Interceptor considering TIEs had more menueverability in space than X-Wings. Not to mention their speed was greater. The Interceptor was quickly behind Jakar. "I can't get him off my back," he said.

"Fancy flying there, Emerald Three," Zendia called out to Azure, even as she picked up a squint on her tail. Also another squint came from the front, both determined to turn her into flaming wreckage.

Of course, her job was to see to it that she would continue on, and not become a frozen corpse in space. A quick juke to starboard had the squint in her sights, and she squeezed her trigger.

However, the guy in the other squint was good, as he evaded her fire. These guys were pros, and showed it.

And then, the two squints had to evade to avoid hitting each other, as Zendia made a quick dive to port, their green fire hitting vacuum.

She had to zig whenever the squints zagged, just to simply avoid getting hit. These guys definetely had the speed advantage, as they both were hot on her heels.

And then, the giant Tartan on the horizon presented the answer.

She drove the craft towards it, weaving through it's emerald fire. If that thing hits me, I'm cooked! she grimly thought, pushing the engines for all they were worth. And the squints here still there, determined to get their kill as well. She also hugged the hull of the battleship, seeing if the squint drivers felt groovy enough to do the same.

They felt groovy enough, and then some.

And then, a squint splattered himself on the Tartan, colliding with one of it's guns.

Zendia gave a grim smile, banking hard to port, as the other squint tailed her.

A gunner aboard the Tartan smiled, seeing Zendia in his sights.

Now, imagine said gunner's disappointment, upon seeing that he'd shot down a squint.

"Thanks," Zendia laughed, regrouping with the others.

"That's a sound suggestion," Zendia thoughtfully said. "Everyone, concentrate your fire on the Tartan. We need to either cripple or destroy it."

Zendia nodded at Azure's commentary. "Let's make it so they can't launch anymore fighters, at least," she said.

"I'll go for their engines so they can't escape, and come back with more," Jakar said. He switched shields to double-front rolled behind the cruiser. Once he was safe from turbolaser fire he switched shields back to normal configuration and fired 4 protons into the engines. They hit their target, causing a chain reaction to the reactor, destroying the enignes.

The swirling blue tunnel of hyper space faded and the stars returned to normal. Four X-Wings from Azure group entered the combat zone, flying in V formation, two on the right and one on the left, with the leader in the middle.

Ace's R2 unit- Wyvern beeped in alarm, quickly catching his attention. "Sir..."

"I know Four, Incomming Eyeballs"

"Roger, Azure Three engaging"

The right most X-Wing broke off from the group in an attempt to engage and enemy T/F. Four red laser beams left the tips of the fighter. Two of the laser blasts pierced the cockpit of the fighter, causing it to explode in flames.

Azure Leader sighed. "All units, free to engage" The lead X-Wing took off and fired at the nearest TIE.

Ace rolled his X-wing out of formation and behind a lone eyeball. Ace followed the fighter closely, gently juking the yoke to keep the fighter in his cross hairs. He squeezed the trigger and let loose a blaze of red laser bolts.
"Come on...hit...hit.." The T/F weaved in and out of the laser blasts until the pilot messed up and a laser bolt hit the wing brace, tearing the wing off. The cockpit spun off wildly before exploding.

"Negative, just us four..." Ace replied as twin green lasers streaked past his canopy.
"Damnit, bandit on my six..." Ace called as he jerked the stick hard to port. The X-Wing rolled hard but the TIE easily kept on his tail.

"I can't shake him!" Ace called as his fighter was rocked by laser fire. He spun around as best as he could to see his top right engine spewing smoke.

"I got your back" Azure Leader's voice appeared over the radio. A barrage of red lasers flew at the TIE. Before he could react, the fighter exploded.

"Thanks lead..." Ace panted out of relief. "Damn...the shields need to recharge.." He mumbled.

"Just watch you self, you need to be more care-" Azure Leader's X-Wing was suddenly rocked by green laser blasts. Within a few seconds, the X-Wing exploded and an Interceptor burst out of the flame cloud.
