Shin's Hp: 3/10 Cp: 5
There was no time to react before Shinratsu found himself kicked back, quite painfully in the stomach. How troublesome... The boy grunted inwardly as he got up calmly bit further back, his face betraying no pain. That thing was supposed to be made of rock, yet it had matched him when it came down to speed. But Giglamesh had already used something similar to this, back at the Academy for his class's final lesson. But this time, Giglamesh had not gotten his hands on some of his blood... So that must mean...he'll have to assume it then. This clone, unlike the last one, was not capable of utilizing his bloodlimit. But anyways, was that even something to cheer about...? Gamibuyou, even without chakra...can cause some seriously unpleasant damage. As he had discovered.

Bunshin #2 Bunshin #3
As if realizing the original would be planning on retaliating with ranged attacks, the clone formed three handseals and copies of himself appeared, one to his left and the other to his right. Unnoticed except for under a careful scrutiny, he had swapped places with the clone on his right. Further ahead, Shinratsu (the real Shinratsu) noticeably tensed. The clone's face was expressionless as he took up his Gamibuyou stance once more. Clearly, a challenge to the real Shinratsu: will you come to me, or I to you? A tall-tale smirk played on the clone's lips.
Bunshin no Jutsu: This is a basic technique taught to ninja at an academy. In certain years, Ninja are required to know this jutsu in order to advance to the Genin level. Bunshin no Jutsu creates one or more clones of the user, which can be used as a means to create a diversion, distraction, or cause confusion. Unlike Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Art of the Shadow Doppelganger), these illusory clones will simply disappear if come into contact, thus, they are without substance, and cannot do anything to damage the opponent. Rank: E Cp cost: 1 pt. per bunshin. Damage: N/A Requirements: Academy students learn it on the academy as a basic jutsu. Training days: Academy. Chakra control check DC: 5 per bunshin. Special: Can create 1 per 5 points in Chakra control. Up to 5 bunshin can be created. *The user assigns a number 1 through 6 to themselves and each of their clones indivudually. The attacker rolls a 6 sided die to see what they hit. The Intelligence check DC to see through an attacker's bunshin is the 1/2 the attacker's int mod + half the attacker's chk mod.

This time, the real Shinratsu's expression...was one of utter annoyance. What did that thing take him for? He wasn't stupid, quite on the contrary...the most brilliant in his class. And that replica thinks that he can't see through replicas...? An eye twitched. The first clone had swapped places with the Bunshin on the right... Pale eyes narrowed, knowingly of which one was his true target. Clones making clones... Shinratsu scoffed silently, in his mind. His brilliant mind quickly formulated a plan while his right hand plunged into his pocket as if going to attack. He can't attack directly of course, not after that damaging first hit. And from his actions, the clone would probably conclude that a rain of shuriken will come.
On the contrary, Shinratsu had something else planned. The goal was that he'll have to weaken that clone with ranged strikes. To do that, it'll have to be with stealth then... The young clan head groaned inwardly. He'll have to swallow his pride on that matter...

Good job...you're finally using the shinobi skills! Shinratsu thought sarcastically. Roy would've been proud...to see that his lesson did some good... Shin obviously has bigger problems right now than to worry about his dislike over "the cowardly method of attacking". Survival comes first, in this case. Undoubtedly, the clone probably would be taken by surprise...that he didn't attack after seeing through the clones. Actually, quite on the contrary... Shinratsu had the heavy suspicion the clone might've concluded he was not able to see through the illusionary copies. A slight smile tugged grudgingly at his face. Then...he will test to see if he had that advantage...the element of surprise...

He won't stick around to discover what the clone realized though. A shinobi hides and moves among the shadows after all. Shinratsu had concealed himself perfectly and crept stealthily, the boulders of the canyon providing excellent shielding. He had never thought that he would be grateful for his small frame...that others had labeled as 'feminine'...with much unappreciation from Shinratsu. Perhaps he shall match a Bunshin no Jutsu technique with the same... It'll make it all the more interesting how his clone would react... No. The pale-haired boy decided. That clone's strengths are equal to mine. That must mean...his weaknesses are also mine...

"Coward." The clone Shinratsu's voice dripped with anger when instead of attacking, his prey had disappeared. Concealed. Gone without a trace. Why but of course... Because his dexterity had come from the original after all...the clone could only second guess "the why". Stony gray coloured eyes narrowed as he scrutinized the rocks within his field of vision. Nothing, there was no trace of the boy. Impossible. The original...was only a rookie Genin, could not have possibly hidden himself that well. And because his feelings came from the original...his prey...relying on stealth...? That was something certainly new. Fine. So perhaps he could not catch the movements with his eyes. What of with his ears then...?

After a long moment, the clone grunted in resignation. It was clear: the boy, whether intentionally or not, had stumbled upon something...one of his strengths versus one of his weaknesses. And of course, his natural agility would play a large role in stealth and stealth movements. Not a single sound, not even a fragmented piece of rock hitting the silent canyon's ground. As annoying as this was...that means he would have to be on the defense: an attack could rain down any moment now... And he still didn't know for certain if the original had seen through his clones.
There was a chance that he won't be hit but still...

Deciding he had taken enough time for preparations, Shinratsu pulled out all six of his shuriken, three gleaming in each hand. He only have one chance to attack and the clone will know his position... Sharp eyes narrowed and in the next moment six shuriken rained down from the sky and all met their mark. From the clone's shocked expression as he fell, the illusionary Bunshins disapearing, the real Shinratsu felt a great satisfaction: it had underestimated him and thought he could not see through the illusion. But Shinratsu had outsmarted the clone...and if Giglamesh's theory was correct, he had outsmarted himself... And then Shinratsu grimaced, as he realized: now, if that clone was supposed to be an exact likeness of him...that means he does that very often too...? Underestimating people? Great, this must be what Gig wanted. For him to get a lesson out of this.

His task done, Shinratsu trotted over to what had remained of the clone: a mess of dirt and fragmented rock. With a swift hand, the boy removed his shurikens. As always, his work was a clean job done. One strike, done with watchful hawk eyes was all this took. The other girl had finished too, with the help of her bird. But in the traditional messy confrontation.
A twinge of guilt filled him, as he remembered a similar case: except that time he had done it to his classmate instead. Almost...murdered... Shinratsu realized. "Gogandantes-san, satisfied now?" Shinratsu spoke coldly to Giglamesh, the -san reflecting the truth: that Giglamesh was no longer charged with him. But that cold, emotionless tone became bitter: "At least you could've used a different approach." From this, Giglamesh should be able to conclude what Shinratsu had learned from this lesson...whether it was what Giglamesh had intended being another story.
The lesson, a reflection of his strengths and weaknesses. The clone's brutal first swift, sudden attack had taught him that was what he was like: more of the assassin type rather than a front-line shinobi. And by how he had coldly outtracked his opponent...reflected cunning...up to the final incapacitating strike. Though the truth reflections of weakness came not from him but from his clone: Shinratsu had a tendency to dangerously underestimate his opponents like that. And of course, though he was forced to swallow pride in this particular spar...much of the time, that gets in the way.
But the most important thing that this particular battle reflected: Shinratsu had changed since that day he had sent Cronos to the hospital, in the heat of the Genin Exams. He was learning...perhaps it was Roy's influence...to use more aspects of a shinobi's skills and abilities, to think more like a shinobi rather than an arrogant nobleman...
---
Hp: 5/10
Shinratsu had long abandoned the need for meditation to restore physical stamina. Now, he could carry it around with him and use it whenever he wished: his clan's gift of great concentration. Speaking of which... Shinratsu wondered to himself. Should he have had allowed the clone to get another close hit in...? Bringing himself close to a death-like state would've fully activated his sleeping Hyouton limit. Too late for that now. The boy mused to himself. And besides that...he wasn't sure if his chakra reserves could support a tundra field as of now. A careless tugging at a loose strand of snow-white hair as the boy mused, deep in thought. He'll have to change that...
---
Hp: 6/10
That's right, he still couldn't open his clan's scrolls. Which was odd...Shinratsu was almost quite certain the seal required blood. But each time he had tried painting the unsealing crest on the seal...the bronze will glow silver momentarily and then...nothing would happen. Perhaps...perhaps his chakra reserves was the source of the problem then. He didn't have enough strength nor stamina to support his clan's Hyouton techniques. Of course, this was only technically speaking. The only logical conclusion Shinratsu could draw for now. Though his face was carefully blank...Shinratsu's brilliant mind was always constantly planning. And right just then...he was so certain...
---
Hp: 7/10
He could not abandon his attempts to convince the Konohagakurian Sannin. That village was famous for its Ninjutsu users after all... And Shinratsu...had no idea where to start to expand his chakra reserves. The only betrayal of his conflicted emotions was the tight clenching of his right fist: as Shinratsu remembered Zephyr clearly, the confident expression of omnipotence...hands held out to the side as if a god embracing the Earth...as colossal, impaling beams of wood arose from the earth. But of course. Shinratsu thought grudgingly. With that kind of power to protect his people...
---
Hp: 8/10
Yet...with what he had seen from the Senju kekkai genkai... Unfortunately, Shinratsu's Hyouton limit was the destroyer, not a creator like the Senju line's Mokouton. While Zephyr and the people of his clan could nurture the Earth with their life...Shinratsu and his clan could only transform lands into desolate wastelands. But...from what he had seen of the Senju...they were an interesting mix...of creator and destroyer. Zephyr...it was obvious the Sannin could make the most desolate wasteland blossom with life. Yet, with his powers...he could also transform a wasteland into a scene of total destruction.
---
Hp: 9/10
This was so strange... His clan's first lesson they had learn from Konoha's Hyuuga clan. And though many centuries have elapsed since then...that lesson remained fresh in their minds. And now, so many centuries later...the lesson once again had come from Konoha. Shinratsu could almost feel envious of them... A great village, situated in the heart of it all...and though their very positioning made Konoha prone to attacks...their village spirit had always found someway through. If only Kiri had such spirit... Shinratsu thought...with a hint of regret...?
---
Hp: 10/10
Was isolation really a gift? Kiri was protected, shielded...veiled from the world... But in return for isolation...they lost the gift of interacting with others. Konoha...that village's strength came from interaction, be it good or bad...and found the need to deal with various types of invaders by developing various defenses of their own. So what if they didn't have the gift of natural barriers? They made use with what the had. Perhaps...perhaps Shinratsu too...could make use of what he has... Hyouton limit may be historically a destroyer...but perhaps he could...someday use it as a 'creator'...

Hitomi placed her heel on the clone's throat and began to apply pressure. It wasn't dead yet. It lacked her greatest strength, adn that was Kon~kou. It wasn't worth keeping alive if it didn't know how to accept help. She would stand for no impostors. If no one would help her and Kon, then they'd have to help themselves. And that means that they can't afford any others standing in their way. Overcome any obstacle. That was what a decision was made to guide. And that's what she'd do. She crushed the clone's throat underneath her heel and the body reverted to its basic components. "No one's going to stop me, Gig. Not even myself." She wouldn't rest. She'd allow Kon time to gather her strength, but Hitomi wouldn't show that the battle had affected her. If she couldn't win Gig's help, then she was going to Kiri herself. They must follow the funeral rites of the warrior that everyone else has. A swordsman should be buried with his sword.
EDIT sad (The dice absolutely love you... I could sell my soul and not get rolls like that XP The only times I've ever done anything like that was rolling a character for DnD that I couldn't use... I had all the stats up in the 17-20 range crying ))

((LUCKY? I damaged myself with a 7 on the first try! >._.>))
Shinratsu slowly held up his injured left wrist. An emotionless, unreadable expression. Minor scrapes here and there...it was alright. He held his wrist to his mouth, biting down to draw blood and spat the contaminated blood aside. In nearly the next moment, the bleeding stopped. It looked like ice had frozen the wound... Shinratsu had done damage intentionally so that the bleeding would stop and for impurities to be purged.
Now that his obstacle (the clone of himself) was out of the way, Shinratsu graced the girl's previous question with an answer. "Learn your history correctly." Contemptuous gray-blue eyes...as chilling as the artic cold...boring into the girl's. How more stupid, how more ignorant could one get? Someone who didn't even know that Momochi Zabuza was among the five of the seven swordsmen that turned on Kiri. And died in an obscene, nameless place lost to even his home village. Legends had it that Konoha's Rokudaime Hokage knew...but despite Kiri's pressings, he took the secret with him to the grave.

"The process of scientific advancement is completely irrelevant to the results. One can fail millions of times, but the end result is only when they stop trying because they are satisfied that they have achieved their desired result or satisfied that they cannot do it. If I have to search until the day I die, then when I die, if I haven't found what I'm looking for, I'll be satisfied that I couldn't do it. If I find it before then, I'll be satisfied with the result. If I come back from the dead, I'll continue the search until I am satisfied. People can take away everything but two very important things. They can take away your possessions... They can take away your life... They can take away..." Here her eyes flashed with emotion, breaking through the layer of ice she'd recently constructed around her heart. "Your freedom... But they can never take away your honor or your resolve. Those who's will is broken lacked the resolve to see their plan through to the end. I have made a promise to find the sword. If I break that, I am giving away both of the only two things I can ever truly own. Your power may be ice, but you have too much emotion to truly do what's needed. At least in your current state. I am willing to do whatever I have to to hold on to the only things I have left. I will not give in because I don't know everything that I need to. The greatest shinobi of all time have not given up just because they didn't get something right away. They stuck to it with resolve and they kept their honor intact by dying for those they promised to protect. History is not important. Those who are dead are dead. They should not come back. The only thing you can leave for posterity is the lessons you learned from your mistakes. Most of those are forgotten out of mistake of the younger generations. To live and learn is our purpose.
And if you fulfill that purpose without making any difference, you've still fulfilled it. The only things one is required to do are to be born and to die. How you go about that is your business. Whether you choose to take it carefully- She referred to his fight "Or you get help from someone else to do it, the only person you have to overcome is yourself. Everyone else can be bypassed if you can just deal with yourself. Having someone else to help you is never wrong, but in the end, they cannot help you.
You took your battle in a roundabout way because you had alternatives. You had choices. You could throw shuriken, kunai, you can probably walk on water. Throwing an earth bunshin into the water can't be good for its composition. However, there are those who don't have any other choice. They are bound by fate to find their own way around things. Hitomi patted her right thigh, where there should have been a pouch. "I had no other choice but to take the battle head on. I would have died if I didn't have help, true. But Kon~kou acted of her own accord, she felt that her purpose at that moment was to help me. She felt the need to interfere in order to keep me from dying. That was her choice, not mine. We all make bad choices. We all end up killing someone else by whatever means it comes about. The only thing to do is to forget about the object and remember the lesson.
Most of us will never do that... Most of us will never forget what we've done." Hitomi remembered her reaction to the explosion... "I have no room to speak on that matter. But my way of coming to terms with what I've done is to look forward. You yourself haven't forgotten nor forgiven yourself for what you've done. And I probably never will. But I'll be damned if I'm not going to stop it from happening again. The future is decided by our choices now. Everything in the past determines the present. Never the future. If you want to look at Kiri as an impenetrable fortress that any person walking into will be destroyed, do so. But my honor restricts me from forgetting my only lead. Whether I get help or not, whether Kon~kou protects me further or if any soul tells me where I can find a sword, I won't stop because of things that have already happened." She looked right at him with cold understanding in her eyes. He spoke of Kiri the same way she does of her brothel and of her home. He went through what she had, and, they seemed to represent to sides of the same coin. One always looking back, and the other forced to look forward out of fear for what lied behind. They both had their demons to exorcise, and they'd have to do it in their own ways. She couldn't help him with that, because, honestly, she had no idea how she'd deal with the past. She just avoided the unknown for what she had some control over. The future.
Once again, she fell back on instinct. He was a man. She had no right to speak to him as she had."I apologize. I came to realize something just now, and I may not have expressed myself in the best way I could have. The battle went to my head and I seem to have forgotten myself for a moment. I am Hayaku~Omoi Hitomi.

"You speak too much and miscomprehend what is said. Had I ever mentioned that Momochi Zabuza died in Kiri grounds?" Shinratsu said unexpressively. "Minds can be broken. Wills can be crushed far easier than you think. Cowardliness. Hatred. Envy. All the dark feelings soiling this world. The mere talkers set themselves on a illusionary interface of strength...it is afterall by far easier to promise than to keep it. Those who truly faced suffering, however...will be the ones immortalized. The dead are dead, that is true." Shinratsu's eyes flashed, his chilling gaze set on the other girl. "Nothing could be done to return a life departed. But the experience the dead leave behind do not depart. There's nothing new under this sun - it'll be a fool's decision to spurn old lessons."
A moment's pause. "It's true that my aim is better than yours. You and I originate from different places afterall and in my native village...cunning...reading the opponent...is the key to survival. A wolf hunts not a bear alone but with the pack. Even the most reckless shinobi learns...there would always be a stronger one...and first using the mind rather than the fists is a generally wiser course of action..."
Did that expression shift...just slightly? Shinratsu eyed Hitomi evenly. "Do not apologize for something you believe in. Your goal, after all...is that of a shinobi, not a kunoichi." And then it was evident...just slightly but the cold expression had softened. "Greetings, then...Hayaku~Omoi Hitomi-san. I am Fubuki Shinratsu of Kiri's Hyouton limit. My family's long history oft interwined with the smithing arts."
