TeaDidikai Blue- has anyone pointed out that being Heathens against hate means you are against... well, hate? Which strikes me as including other theologies. Ya know, I have. Many a time. And nobody seems to listen/it flies over their heads. In the past two days, I've had six people jumping down my throat because I called them on it, with only one other person caring to help me out. I'll talk to a friend I made through the one group and get working on a new one. I'd rather have him be the group leader, as he's been involved in the Asatru community for a while, and he actually knows what he's talking about. I think a bit of my noobness is wearing off, though. Or that might just be wishful thinking. >_<

Good luck with that and remember- Idiots are idiots no matter if they cite the Bible, the Eddas or any of a dozen other texts.

Thank you. I hope it works out.
The kinds of attitudes I've seen displayed on those online communities are what keeps me hesistant about seeking a local Asatru group. I really need to suck it up and start looking, though.

I love the Rossvikings- but keep in mind, Asatru are as human as the next guy and they mess up just as often. ~sighs~ What will I ever do with you Thorfin?

I really need to suck it up and start looking, though. Meh. If you're that worried about it, keep yourself to yourself. I would usually do so, but I'm at that stage in my learnings where I'd like to take part in the holidays and rituals of those who share my faith. I believe it would give me so much more of an understanding of the community, and (hopefully) bring me a bit closer to the Gods. As I'm in no position to do these practices myself, a guiding hand from a Kindred would be a huge help. I just need to get over my insecurities and fears, get out there, and find a group located at a reasonable distance that I can feel at home with. TeaDidikai I love the Rossvikings- but keep in mind, Asatru are as human as the next guy and they mess up just as often. Understandable. I guess I just went into the group with high hopes, assuming that the "Heathens Against Hate" banner would ring true, and all hatred would be looked down upon. But I'm not a little ball of sunshine, either. I read in another topic here (forget which one) that the Rossvikings are having trouble. Is that looking up at all?

After the "sweet and innocent" ritual that will evoke Var, Frigga and Tyr... we'll see where the cards fall.

TeaDidikai Where in the world are you again? Eastern Pennsylvania, about an hour or so north of Philadelphia, and about a half-hour away from the New Jersey border. In a suburb of Allentown, if you know where the Hell that is. TeaDidikai Depends. After the "sweet and innocent" ritual that will evoke Var, Frigga and Tyr... we'll see where the cards fall. Hope it all works out. It sounds like a really awesome group, from what I've read you tell. It'd be a shame if there was a split.

The friend who introduced me to KoL has a Disco Bandit who sent me much drink. Inebriety: 10 But hooray for KoL and the wealth of horrendous puns! And now I'm off to fight a baseball bat... You play Kingdom of Loathing? yay!! I am a Disco Bandit too, I traded my disco ball for some knob goblin tongs... Moxious...

I consider the Pacific northwest more of a home than this side of the country, anyhow. I just can't say enough how much I love Washington state.

"Oh what a beautiful morning! Oh what a beautiful day! I've got a beautiful feeling Everything's going my way!"
(regardless of what a horrible musical that's from, that's exactly how I feel right now)
VisasMarr: I was fighting with a Spooky Stick I got from fighting a triffid (that spits poison and kills) until I picked up the Gnollish flyswatter...
I had no idea so many people here played... Yay KoLers!
Uh uh... now I have Rocky Horror Picture Show songs stuck in my head.
*wanders off singing Science Fiction Double Feature*
