Okay, so this is completely off topic to what's going on in here. (I didn't feel like reading, sorry.) I wandering around in roleplaying and noticed that there are two Hogsmeades. Well, I went in the deadish one and read the posts and such. It got me thinking. In the "guide to roleplay" thingy, it talks about, when you make a new topic, that it can be in whatever time period you want. Does that still apply?

Never off-topic if you have a question!
If you're talking about a new role-play, yes. As long as you clearly set up what you're looking for others to RP about, I think it still applies.

Normally November means Pajama Rama but I've been thinking... Fright Week is still moving kinda slow.... would anyone object to allowing the ghosts to continue their event through the Thanksgiving Holidays? Of course the Baron and others will have to update it a bit.

Personally I'd rather that option than to create (and work hard) on an all-new event that hardly anyone participates in.

I have no objections. That's basically what we did last year during the holidays when guild activity reached an all time low.

I was thinking that. I'd hate to help plan an entire new event that no one participated with.

I think that is a good idea since things seem to be a little slow. But in the spirit of Pajama Rama we should all wear a PJ's anyways for the people who are around.

The ghosts and the Heads will come up with something. Expect an announcement from the Baron sometime this week.

On creating new topics and where to put them: In the Entrance Hall, there is only one little bit, which is in a tiny font and rather difficult to find, concerning this. Here is what it says:
Quote:
Is it ok to create a new thread?
Make sure you read all the stickies and announcements in the forum you want to make a thread in before making a new topic. Go ahead and make a thread in the discussion forum. If you're unsure where your topic goes, we suggest you ask, but, if you must, you may place it in our main forum and a mod will move it for you. Be warned, however, that he/she might delete it as well. You need permission from the Headmaster to make a thread anywhere else though. Try to help us avoid spam threads.

I find this a bit confusing. Not all of the subforums have stickies with information about creating new threads. Also, first it makes me thing that any new thread should go in the discussion subforum, and then makes me think you're supposed to ask first (but who and where?), and then lastly makes me think that you should place it in the main forum. So which one is it supposed to be. Also: "You need permission to make a thread anywhere else" - anywhere other than where?

Suggestion: Clarify, please. Perhaps something like this:
Read any stickies/announcements concerning new topics in that subforum, if there are any. Refer to the post below, an overview of the subforums, for a guide as to where your thread belongs. If you are not sure, ask your Head of House or the Head Elf (if new) or post in the SFQ to ask where your thread should go, and then create it there. If nobody responds, you may create it in the main forum and it will be moved.

Not sure if this suggestion is useful at all, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

You make a great point. I'll go ahead and edit some of the subforum announcements with posting info. The FAQ won't be updated just yet, but thats only because we're working on a new Entrance Hall that will be posted soon.

At the rate things are moving I think we should turn the Start of Winter term event into a Pajama Rama Christmas bonanza. I'm thinking a pajama avatar contest, maybe a secret santa or something.
