He watched as she attempted to warm herself up and glanced up to the sky that was still somewhat cloudy from the magically induced showers from earlier. That wasn't going to be very effective. But looking back to her face, shaking his head. "I feel fine. We're lucky to have crossed the bridge without too much trouble." But at the mention of the Laerethe, he frowned a bit. There was still too much he didn't not understand about their race. "I don't know for certain. I dropped her back onto the ship and immediately came to you. She was quite adamant about that as well." And looking back to the sky and then over her form, noting how little surface area there was on her that wasn't covered with hard reflective scales. No, this wasn't going to work. "Can you change back? I can't help you when you're in natural form."

"Lucky is much accepted at a time like this." If they weren't lucky right now they would be screwed right now, "Important thing is you got her. I'm sure she's fine...what with thier little potions and such." But quiet a moment as his request to change back, was hard to do when they were drained out as she was. At least she blended in with what she was laying on somewhat. Lifting her head she gave a little nod before closing her eyes in concentration for a moment. Tell tale shimmer of her form before natural turned neutral, leaving Jae on her knees in the sand, hands clutching at the more salt than sand around her.

Owowow magnififcation of ailments. But boy did she do a good job of hiding how horrible she was feeling, she'd always been a bit good at that. However the claminess of her skin and her heavy breathing, her hair more or less plastered to her forehead and against her ears and horms, told more of the tale than she was letting on. Wearily she lifted her eyes up to him from where he was, managing a smile of some sorts despite it all. "I'm kinda alright..." Of course she was. She had to be. You didn't make it through constant judging by those around you by appearing weak and depenent. One that that she had learned from Koto that was probably better left unleared. Thusly bracing hands and tail on the ground to push herself to her feet, or at least try to.

She didn't look good but he said nothing, merely watched the bright light fade and then stepped forward to pull her up to a standing position. There wouldn't be anything he could do in terms of healing but at least now that she was in semi-human form, he could try something. "Kind of..." Wrapping his tail around her waist, mindful of the spikes, he pulled her into his arms and held her snugly close. She was not ectothermic and covered in scales anymore, which meant heat transfer would be more effective. And since he was of the fire element, his body temperature in neutral form was slightly higher than hers. Focusing his internal energy, he channeled that warmth closer to the surface of his body and allowed it to transfer to hers. Skin against skin. "Feel anything?" More importantly, any better?

"Kinda is better than nothing. Gotta see the bright side." But she let him help her up, was just easier...though a blink as his tail wrapped around her waist and he pulled her close. Though she didn't think too long on that as the soothing sensation of heat was easily picked up and she could feel her body seeping it up in almost greedy fashion. Easily enough she wrapped her arms around his waist as her tail wrapped itself around his leg, laying her head to his chest and tucking her wings in close to her body as they could get without breaking so she could get closer to him. "Mmmhm...you're warm." Wonderful thing that. And wonderful thing to be only semi-cold blooded so she could retain that heat. "Thank you. I don't mean to be trouble." Eyes closed as she merely stood there with him, literally soaking up the heat from him, despite how cold she could probably make him...if the cold ever even got through that heat, which she doubted.

And because he had always been somewhat oblivious to the 'bright side', he merely associated it with the 'necessary side' and moved on to other thoughts. Like how to soothe her pain with his natural body heat. Good, it was working. "I know." And he could feel that warmth being gradually accepted and held onto by her body. It didn't affect him much in terms of temperature, he was intrinsically warm enough to support them both though he was aware of the cold clamminess of her bare skin against his hands. The fusion barrier between hot and cold. "You're not trouble. I'm not Koto." Father was right, Jae was worth more than he realized. If it wasn't for her plan, they might be in the Serpent's grasp by now. He held her closer against him, standing still and waiting until she was ready.

Funny how it didn't strike her as odd...that essentially he knew what she had been referring to and the main catalyst behind such a view that others had of her, even if she barely casted it to herself. She wasn't made of stone after all and she wasn't ignorant to such opinions. A slighly nod against his chest in indication that she heard him. "I know." Common phrase of the moment wasn't it? Jae only let herself fit closer to him as he had pulled her thus...perhaps a part of her was enjoying this too much and taking advantage of it. Not that she made move to correct that...and eventually she warmed, the chill leaving skin as well as scales, and she didn't seem as stiff either anymore. Reluctantly she loosed her tail from around his leg and titled her head up to look at him, chin still resting against his chest and the tips of her horns lightly brushing the top joint arch of her wings with the action. "I'm feeling better now...at least not cold anymore. Still tired, but that's only fixed with rest and such." Giving him another smile as if to prove she was doing better.

He didn't seem to notice the repetition, merely acknowledged it as a good thing. After all, man of little words. And he didn't mind it when others got like that with him, even though he knew that there was a basic difference sometimes. Soon, it seemed like she was all warmed up and he removed his own tail from her waist as well, dropping his golden gaze to hers. The smile relieved him slightly of his worries. "You need it and I think you will have time for it as well." Glancing over to the anchored ships momentarily and then back to her, taking a moment to brush various patches of salt from her body. "Do you need Shyrae or Eilynne to look you over and maybe give you... something?" Potion, medicine, whatever they had that could help. He wasn't too eloquent when it came to those technicalities.

His glance back at the ship clued her into what she had been vaugely aware of. Those captians were probably a tad annoyed with her, at least a little At lest Captain Neerem...after all, it wasn't every day that a dragon purposefully clawed your ship. Slightly she pulled away from him as he brushed at her person, getting off the salt that had stuck to her person, "Debatable...the ships need to be fixed soon as possible I assume. They'll need everyone's help." One of her problems as well, part of her inventor's mentality she supposed, she just didn't know when to stop sometimes in certain situations. But Jae shook her head, "No, no need to trouble them. I'm fine...besides I don't think the aliments of dragons from thier various powers would be any specialty of theirs, and they probably have better uses to be put to."

Dropping his arms back to his side, he gazed at her and frowned slightly. "Everyone that is capable and not about to fall over themselves. Your plan was the reason everyone is even alive and relatively safe. For that, you deserve credit and more importantly, your rest." He knew that she always took his words in stride and more often than not, kept on with her headstrong ways, but he wouldn't stop trying to convince her otherwise. "They were able to help you last time, but if you insist. Is there anything else I can do for you then?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 15, 2007 7:28 pm

"I was hurt last time...it's not really that kind of hurt this time." It seemed she didn't have too much of a say when it came to the subject of her resting. She was a doer, it was her nature to keep going once something was started. Kicking back and relaxing came after...something that always came equally natural to her. Jae watched him a moment as he continued to question. Sometimes he came off so inpersonal, though she knew at least half the time he didn't mean it that way, he was just stoic and now was not a time when his more lighthearted side would be drawn out. "I think I'll be fine." Wrapping her wings around herself then and turning a look over to watch the ships a moment. "You're not going to be satisfied till I go curl up and rest, are you?"

Rahsaveer stepped down to the deck and nodded. "I assume you were referring to me. Eilynne can be of no help to you at this time, Captain. She sustained major injuries and is now healing herself. The white dragon, Jaebelltiah, is also out of commission right now. I suggest anything you wish to have done, be done by another. Kaznec is seeing to her now. The others took the brunt of the damage," he reminded gently stepping into Hunter's cabins.

"Six and I'm fine, Daddy. You're the one who's bleeding from various orifices which is very unbecoming." Her gaze turned to Hunter for a moment and she frowned then shook her head at Richards. "I refuse to stand and listen to another tirade about elves thinking they are invincible and whatever other racist comments he chooses to throw out. I will go, but if he starts that, I'm leaving and taking any explanations I might consider offering with me." Walking in and crossing her arms.

"You're not and you get what you want." Sticking her tongue out at Desdemona and then turning to Gem and blinking, even as she was rubbing at her eyes and snuffling. "I just wanted some sparkles." Protectively lacing an arm around her brother, she stood in front of Gem. "No shaking...."

Thobias laughed, "I have no idea but I thought you might like them. Desdemona found them and obviously treated them none too well despite my orders otherwise. They were discovered right before the crises with the Serpent going through your jewels. I think the young one is rather entranced with them much like you, Jewel." He went down to one knee in front of the children, reaching into his pocket and pulling out two gems, a green one and a red one. "No shaking," he promised. Looking to the boy, "What color would you like?"

"In the light...yes that doesn't say to much to the likes of me other than it probably would of hurt my eyes or disturbed my sleep." Glancing at the two...what exactly were they supposed to be? She couldn't quite pin it down. Crouching down, she inspected both with a once over lightly. "You have names?" Yes the clothes they wore weren't too shabby and the little one with the...horse bottom...did indeed have shoes on his cloven hooves. How did they always end up with the kids. "No worries babes, no one is going to hurt you." Reaching out and patting each before rising and looking to Des. "Well...someone has to watch them I'm not going to throw them out in the sand. Do you want to babysit or do back breaking work also without complaint on either tasks?" Narrowing her eyes in authority.

He nuzzled his sister as she was still upset but merely stood still as he was being and he was compliant to cling to his sister as she clinged to him as they were promised things and also presented shiny things. A tilt of his head, "Green." Before looking to his sister in that questioning manner, getting into her ear and cupping so no one could see what he was saying either. "We're not 'spose to telled our names?"

She looked over at the title that he decided to settle her and Malik with. Well well, he was asking? How humble of him. It was nice that he wasn't throwing out orders with that clipped tone of voice. Maybe it was because his 'baby' was hurt. "You know, he's kind of like you when he threatens...though yours are never empty." Turning her attention fully back to her father, pushing out of the hold he still had on her, fulling his arm over and feeling it out a moment. "Better make sure its fixed before you go home, or she'll ask questions that you probably don't want to answer." But a little nod. "Undersandable in a way, though he attacks even his own allies when such things occur. Turns them into enemies when they shouldn't be."

Sevilin raised an eyebrow as him and his daughter were pointed out, and a following look to the first mate. "Somehow I'm going to think all the blame is going to be thrown this way...well, hopefully he won't be a child about it." but he merely gave a shrug as she commented on his state of being. "It happens." However, it seemed his daughter wasn't going to stand for a private chewing out by said captain. She always was the civil one. Wiping away some blood, he followed after her into the cabin and waited patiently as ever.

See, no point in arguing with her. When her mind was set, she did things her way. Nothing he could say would change that. Little did he know that he was like that as well. "In all honesty, no. But if you insist, I'm here if you need anything or if your body acts up in any way." Never hurt to be cautious. Some would say overly cautious. But he too glanced over to the ships as something vague was shouted out, probably too muffled by the breeze for a human to pick up but the dragons got it. "I think Captain Deacon wants a word with me..."

A look away with a sigh...sometimes she didn't enjoy how complacent he could be as well. He rarely fought her on things, even little fun fights like if indigo was more blue or violet. "Then you better go talk to him. I'll go rest." Thusly starting off and a very slow pace toward the ship. Sun would be starting to drop soon and there was no need to be too far away in the middle of the night, was just dangerous.

Hunter watched the little lord for a moment, frowning a bit. hmm. so they can be hurt. good to know, for a myraid of reasons. but that also ment her aid was out fo the question. the white dragon was incapcitated.

"I still need Kanzec or Bell brought to me as soon as possible. I know Fang. He's coming for us as we speak. working his way down around the chasm. We showed far too big a display for him to think nothing of it."

before looking at the two elves.

"What in the name of Davy Jones himself were you trying to prove that got you spiraling down at breakneck speed on my deck with that ship hot on your collective asses? Didn't I warn you, she-elf, that captain fang was highly partial to killing at first sight women on these sands? You're no good to anyone dead."

very calm tone, but anyone could see the anger underlying it. trying to be civil and not chew her out like he was damned sure thought she should be.
then looking at the other elf.

"And look at him. the man is bleeding from his eyes for gods sake. Did you not think for a second that perhaps your father might have been a tad bit out-gunned or outnumbered before you went and did whatever it was you did?"

leaning over his desk, looking at his maps and glancing up again.

"And tell me the truth, you were the one missing from my ship, weren't you. it's you fault he even had a trail to find us with, isn't it. I know you elves have great magical prowess, and that your stronger, faster, and such over us humans. but for the love of the sands, why is it that you won't listen to me when I tell you something. You haven't even been on this plane for more than a a few months, and most of that now has been on a sandgoing vessel which you and your companion both have admitted you have had no contact with before."

gritting his teeth a bit. come on, keep calm. no need to get a lecture from the little lord there or get into another fight with a father. His ship and her needs came first.

"As I todl your friend, my payment is for the transportation of this additonal team to my crew for this little mission we're on. As much as there are times I'd like to, I can't just slit your throats while you sleep, lest my deal be rendered null and void with Kanzec's father. I can't let you die for being foolish for the same reasons. which means I need you to understand that my word out here is not only the law on my ship, with exceptions made only for the rulings of the little lord and lady, but one of experience. I've lived my most of my life out here. I would expect you to treat my knowledge of the denizens and the ways of the world out here with teh same consideration and respect that I would treat your word with if we are faced with a magical problem or enemy. This is my area of expertise."

then turning his attention fully onto sevilin.

"And I imagine you know who I am. I would like to know who you are. and, I would liek to point out as well, that as her father, and as per you were there, what possessed you to let her mess with a three gun deck warship commanded by a man that would love nothing more than to see your daughter mounted in a bed or mounted on a trophy wall? or did she not inform you of that information that I gave to them prior. And I'd like to know what you can offer to my crew and ship for your stay. the other male elf is a fine swordsman and a strong user of the same kind fo necromantics as his daughter...so what can you do to help this little endeavor for as long as your a passenger on my ship?"

Malik chuckled lightly.

"I'm sure his threats are real enough. But from what your letter told me, and his own little lecture to you before, he's bound by a contract not to go through with them. Some thieves do still have a semblance of honor to them, you know."

A wince as she was toyign with his arm, but that was it.

"I'll be sure of that. the last thing I need to tell your mother is I was hurt while in the middle of a ship to ship battle that you were in on as well. even if I leave out the edge of a chasm and gliding over an ice bridge at the time part."

Desdemona glared right back at her. she didn't want to do neither actually. This wasn't her ship, and she was only here in the first place because she'd been forbidden from the Chimera.

"Babysitter."

Think shew as going to sully her hands on the Gale Claw? hardly.
