Xander called out while covering his head with dirt and mud. With that Xyliah became one with the dirt that is covering Xander's head and hardened it to make a makeshift helmet that covered the top of Xander's head but left enough mouth room for Xander to breath. The helmet had a trail of dirt from the base of the back to the ground there was a spine of dirt connecting to the ground. With that Xander punched his left hand into his right prepping his circle. Both thought at the same time. "Fire!" Yelled Xander as he launched his last earthen missile at where he saw the feet image of the sage. Punching the air and launching with all his strength launching it roughly half as fast as the first missile at his intended foe. Immediately Xander started to run right behind his missile and prepped to make a move on the sage. Stumbling slightly as he ran due to slight lack of depth perception. Flashes of his feet hitting the ground as he saw what vibrations they gave off as he ran.

Weslan saw the large earthen projectile appear in the air and launch towards him. "Tolero vis vires." Weslan incanted. He felt the power of his magic take form and flow into his body, felt the strength within his body wax. The earthen missile approached, and instead of dodging, he held out a hand. A moment later the dirt collided with it. Weslan was not thrown, though he was slid backwards. He tossed his staff down and thrust his other palm against the missile. He repositioned his sliding feet into a more stable stance, caught traction, was pushed back slightly, and then halted. He pushed his strength and weight forwards against the boulder that was still suspended from its momentum, and threw it down onto the ground. "Ha!" He barked out. Exultant at his own display of stubbornness.

"I see you! Dragging your feet on the ground and having a boulder send out shock waves clearly maps you out! Eat this!" Xander yelled as he ran up to the boulder that just fell. As he neared it, Xander ripped off part of the Cetsus that covering the back of his right hand and dropping it to the ground unceremoniously. As soon as the metal left hes arm, Xander's right hand started to glow as all of the remaining energy that Xander had flooded into his hand awaiting direction. Directed Xyliah as she felt the power condense in Xander's hand. "Uuurraaagh!" And with that Xander punched in the general area four feet above where he saw the feet stop sliding and sturdy themselves. The punch was not even anywhere close where the sage is by any stretch of the imagination, but the beam released from the end of the punch traveled towards the intended target. Releasing all of his remaing energy into the beam of pure energy, Xander prayed that the uncontrollable energy he had just released hit its target. As the energy hit the boulder, it punched a hole into it as if it was Swiss cheese as it made its way towards its intended target.

Well, that's unex- Sage Weslan took the blast full in the chest as it tore out the backside of the boulder. With his hands still planted on the boulder, and the fact that the boulder had blinded him to Xander's movements until only a moment ago, he had no chance to guard. The blast picked him up and launched him across the battleground until the power of the beam faded and dropped him unceremoniously to the ground. pected... Weslan groaned and waved over his steward. The elderly man approached immediately. "Lester, be a good man and inform the young mage that this victory is his." Weslan groaned out. "And call for Seiliel." The steward, Lester, approached Xander cautiously. "Sage Weslan has aked me to inform you that you are the victor, young sir. Excuse me now, while I call upon our healer."

"Awesome!" Xander exclaimed as he shakely raised his hands in triumph. As soon as his hands raised over his head the magical strain one his muscle enhancement became painfully appearant and gave out. With the sound of wind leaving a tunnel, Xander's body mass shrank back to normal giving off a slight whirlwind that blew some dust away from his feet. Pure exhaustion over took him and he started to fall to the earth as if the wind around his feet couple topple him. Xyliah broke apart her rocky helmet revealing a burned Xander underneath, and became one with the earth and managed to catch him on his way down to the earth. With that the dusty duo stumbled over to see if the Sage is ok.

Raolain grimaced when the young fool released the admittedly impressive blast of energy. He grimaced because at that moment, Cookie squealed with glee and flew around his head faster than he could see. He closed his eyes until he felt her settle on his shoulder again, but was still laughing with the excitement of the battle, the sound like tiny bells in his ears. He watched the sage go down, and then the foolish when right after he was declared the victor and snorted,"Hmph. He got lucky. The sage was an even bigger fool for not pressing his advantage. He had him and pulled back. This would have ended much sooner and the sage as the victor were he not so timid." Cookie just laughed all the harder.

The steward, Lester, returned shortly. He was followed by a willowy woman in flowing pale green robes. The woman had white hair held back in a long braid and pale blue eyes. She saw Weslan laying on the battleground and immediately hustled over to him. "You fool, getting yourself beaten on by younger men again I see." She said. "That is my job, Seiliel." Weslan said. "Just give a moment and I'll have you all fixed up." "No. See to the young man first. I'm afraid I got overzealous and may have harmed him." Seiliel sighed, but walked over to where Xyliah was supporting Xander. "Stay still. My name is Seiliel, I am a healing magic practitioner." Seiliel spread extended the first two fingers on each hand pressed the fingertips of one hand against Xanders forehead. She placed the fingers of the other hand against her own forehead. "Celerare vires inesse eo somes tenus renovo sese. Evoco vis vires inesse mihi itaque inesse eo unius. Vigoratus." Guided by the very detailed and precise words of her incantation Seiliel's magic flowed out through her and into Xander's body. The magic drew some of The healer's strength with it and together with the strength remaining in the young man's body set about repairing the damage he had been caused. Within moments the burns on Xander's face repaired themselves, leaving only smooth, natural looking skin in their place. "Very good. Now on to our Sage." Seiliel said, though she added a sarcastic note to the word 'Sage'. The healer went back over to Weslan and repeated the process. Soon the Sage was back on his feet again, though supporting himself on the staff that his steward had retrieved for him. He hobbled his way back towards the two young challengers. "Well, very good." Weslan said to them. "Leonard, you did well, though you need to watch that you don't accidentally hand your opponents weapons against you. And Xander, excellent determination, and good use of what you know. I take it that earth techniques are a specialty of yours? No matter, Xander, if you will follow me I will award you your mark." That said Weslan led Xander into the Academy proper and down a series of hallways before they came upon what appeared to be the Sage's study. Weslan cast a glace at the fireplace and brilliant flames sprang up at a thought. He retrieved a brand that rested on hooks above the mantle. He held this in the flames for a few moments before removing it. "You have a surface for me to put this on?"
While Xander was led off by Weslan, Leonard and Kazal were left alone on the bench from which they had observed the battle. Seiliel came over to examine them both, and did whatever minor healing was required before retreating back into the academy to rest. Leonard asked.
That said Kazal led Leonard to meet the third mage and his fairy partner.

Raolain grimaced slightly when it became apparent that one of the mages was going to approach him,"Look what you've done, pest. You attracted attention to us again." he turned his head to glare at Cookie from beneath his cowl. For her part, Cookie made an exaggerated face of innocence with wide eyes and a huge gasp. She placed her hands on her chest in a "Who Me?" gesture, and spoiled the act by laughing her tinkling bell laugh. Raolain ground his teeth and set his shoulders to meet the approaching duo,"I really hate you...' he mumbled under his breath.

Leonard and Kazal walked up to the dark robed mage with his tiny fairy partner zipping about him. "Hey, enjoy the show?" Leonard asked. "An acquaintance of mine noticed you here and told me I should invite you to come with us to his camp. He's a pretty powerful mage, and he said he wanted to test our skills. What do ya say?"

Ralain quirked a brow at Leanord's words and looked him up and down in a blatant appraisal," Your 'powerful' friend wants to test my skills? He wants to lose you mean." Raolain looked over at Kazal next, then back to Leanord," And it wasn't much of a show..." Before he could speak further, there was a high pitched shrieking sound as Cookie rushed from Raolain to zip around and around Leanord and Kazal almost to fast to see before landing on Kazal and rubbing herself against his fur. "Ooooohe'ssosoftsoftsoftcanwekeephimcanwekeephimcanwekeephimcanwecanwecanweeeeeee!?"

Kazal's brow furrowed as he glanced down to where the tiny fairy was splayed out against his chest, rubbing herself into his fur. He gently reach down with one hand and carefully plucked her up by the collar of her tiny clothes. He lifted her up so that they were on eye level. He his mental voice rumbled to her. "Sorry I'm not much of a showman." Leonard said, nonplussed. "As for my 'powerful' friend, I dunno. I only just met the guy myself. I dunno what he really wants. Alls I know is that with the level of illusion and projection magic he was throwing around earlier, it should be fun. Anyways, come or don't. Doesn't matter to me. I was just told to invite you, and I did. Come on Kazal, let's get going." Kazal released his grip on the miniature woman and turned to follow his partner. The two of them walked out through the front entrance, donning their cloaks as they walked, so that neither one was distinguishable from the other, except for their height and the heads of their weapons poking from underneath the hems of their cloaks. Kazal almost immediately caught scent of apple blossoms, as he had been told he would, and followed it to the small sprite. Leonard asked. "Lathavendier." Kazal rumbled.

Lathavendier stood there as the pair approached, scarcely taller than one of their knees. His skin resembled the bark of a Birch tree, his hair a small patch of moss, his eyes were large and set deep in his face like two blueberries set into the bark of a tree. His boots were made from woven leaves, red as if it were plucked during the middle of fall. He wore a tabard of woven grass that was still green as if it were freshly made. A belt around his waste held it tight to his small form; it was made from the branches of a willow tree, a small carved clasp made of Redwood held the two ends together. The cloak on his shoulders made from the petals of Appleblossoms, layered and lined at the top with fur. On his hip was a sheathed longsword, it and its sheath appeared to be made of glass the color of honey. When they spoke his name, he bowed to them. It was both graceful and soldierly. When he stood erect again, he spoke, “Sirs, I am to guide you yes?” Lathavendier’s voice was a deep rumble like the sound of a river’s rapids. He looked from Leonard to Kazal and then behind them. “I was told to expect six of you.”

"My friend should be here in a minute. As for the other two, I dunno if they're coming or not." Leonard said. "Give it a minute, and then we'll all know."

((So, just so you guys know, we don't need to keep making our posts in red. Griffin is taking a break from this roleplay for an indefinite amount of time. She has every intention of coming back at some point, but when she does we intend to remake the original group in a new thread.))

Raolain suddenly stepped out from behind Leanord and Kazal. His dark robes shifted as he tucked his arms into his sleeves, his dark cowl hiding the upper portion of his face. "We will come," he said simply. Cookie stood upon his shoulder and glared at Kazal. She thrust her arms down hard and stamped her foot while sticking her tongue out at him before abruptly turning her back to him with her arms crossed. She flipped her nose into the air and "hmphed" loudly in her tinny voice.
