Caden was able to come up from below just as the ship hit the ice bridge, he almost fell flat on his a** but was able to hang onto the railing as they made their way across the gap in the earth, it was fun to know that these two ships were probably the first to ever try this stunt but when the Chimera hit solid ground again the guard was happy that they were alright. Smiling he began to walk to the back of the ship and saw the dragons doing their work with the bridge, he still knew that Fang was close and when a cannon ball struck one of the dragons his eyes widen at the sight, was that Jae or the little one? He couldn't tell and that frightened him a lot. "Oh s**t..." Stepping back a little Caden shook his head a bit, did one of them just died? It seemed so and it was not fair, damn Fang that b*****d will get it one of these days. Though by now he realized that the two drow were also on deck, looking at them he blinked then walked up to wards them. "You guys are alright? Need any help?" By the looks of things they went through hell, they needed to get below deck for sure.

the rain and the chasm were not a great combination, and Fang wheeled the Serpent broadside, at the same time four huge chained weights were thrown down on the other. the weight counter balanced the ship herself, and being broadside let loose with a fully volley. the cannonfire helped recoil the ship to a perilously safe balance despite the water and rain.
but the Chimera was in range, despite, just like Gem, Hunter was not resting yet and keeping his sails as full as he could...until the cannonballs slammed into his hull, and one splintered and almost broke the mast, tearing through sail. Hunter was dead in teh sand, through right now the slippery ice bridge and the extra force was keeping his ship going on momentum. His crew was trying to keep the sails going but the holes were making thier efforts pretty useless. if they ran out of momentum before the got out of range, they were in trouble.
Malik hit the deck, hard, on his side. the cannonfire hitting the mast had literally tossed him out of the crow's nest, and his was sure his left arm was broken. probably fractured in a few places, and he was sure he was going to bruise nicely. but he got himself up, helping hsi daughter up as well and pulling her back toward the helm.
"your mother is going to kill me."
Desdemona narrowed her eyes at them both, before letting them go...though she kept them cornered.
"you're a bad liar. a thieving stowaway would have come and gone by now. So how did you really get here. don't make me ask again."

Destroyed bridge was not the last of their troubles. Cannon fire sounding behind them made sure he didn't forget the Serpent yet. He dodged a few until Hunter's warning and Jae's call came through the heavy artillery sounds, making him glance up towards the ships momentarily. Bad move. A deafening boom, a flash of white, and then he felt the full force of her body drive him to the side. "Jae-" Wait, that wasn't her. She was already out of the chasm and flying back towards the ships. Then... Realization struck him. Red flared for a second in golden eyes and then he took off after the transformed Laerethe, plunging down into the wet darkness. With enough speed, he soon caught up to the dragoness and maneuvered himself so that she was caught on his back, between his wings. "Eilynne, you have to transform back. We're too big of a target."

A look back to the sound of splintering wood and thudding iron, just nice and in time to see the Chimera get mangled to an extent. "Bugger Deacon! Mister Robins, back to my stern and lead rope the Chimera, grab it around the figureheads." Giving an exasperated sigh, what was she going to do with this man. "Soon as it's roped up, give me my Wings. We don't stop until we're out of range, and that goes for the Chimera too!" Why did she get into these deals. Oh he owed her so so much right now. Back onto trying to put distance between them all.
He waved a hand dismissively, "I'm fine. I've done this way longer than even your mother was a thought in someone's head." He let her help him up but implored the tactic that every Inthara was used to from the man; not moving if he didn't want to be moved. Which was especially good as things started to literally fall apart around him and he pulled his daughter to him as if to protect her from falling debris, a slight look turned to Caden at his questioning from slightly below deck. "Get up there and help with his blasted forsaken vessel!" Injuries of anyone weren't priority one right now.
Then bad went to worse. It was bad enough not being able to see what was happening and only feeling the horrid vibrations of the ship, but then was worse when canonballs started to slam into various parts of it and make various other things come crashing down. Which for her ment a flare up of necromantic energy in order to protect herself if needed, and struggling lightly when Malik grabbed her before she realized who was doing the grabbing and thus let him do his pulling. "More like maim you, death would be too easy."
"We came in the light." That was about as far as she was probably going to get out of them. They couldn't be anymore than three, maybe five at the most. Concept of things wasn't a strong subject with them, they just knew they did things and other things happened.
She looked back to the calling of her name, or what was supposed to be her name to catch the doppleganger of herself that was really a Laerethe take a hit and plummet down, only to have Kaz go after her. No doubt he had that situation handled. And at the same time...the ships weren't faring so well, and she was thrown for a literal loop and into the sand as one screeched past her as well too close for comfort. Hunkering down in the sand a moment she got herself up and took to running across the sand to the stern of the Chimera. Lowering her head she braced her horns against the ship and braced her neck and spine, digging claws in best she could into the sand to add more momentum to the ship, tail lashing about in her agitation and determination. If she wasn't tired before she was going to be now. And in the back of her mind, worry for Kaz was ever present as he was like that. All of them just had to get out of range and then all would be well.

Groaning in frustration, he nodded. "Can't we just leave her dead in the sands?" he mumbled under his breath as he personally took to the task she'd assigned. "Not like the Sandseas would suffer without him." Lassoing the rope, he caught it around the necks of his various figureheads and tightened the ropes then looped them onto the Gale Claw, securing knots and making sure the ropes were spread evenly enough to bear the weight without too much strain. "Chimera secured, Captain." Then to his men. "Give the Captain her wings and you better be pulling and pushing like your lives depend on it because they do!"
Eilynne felt herself caught and thrown then settled and shook her head. "Oh Kaznec, you should have let me fall..." She mustered up the strength and managed the transformation, becoming herself all over again. With a last burst of energy, she attempted to shield the Serpent's eyes and keep him from seeing the ships. It might not work...and then again it might. "Drop me on the Gale Claw and grab Jaebelltiah, Kaznec, before she really gets hurt. She doesn't have the energy for anything else."
"Your energy isn't nearly as good as it should be, Daddy. I know you. I idolized you for most of my life and I know pretty much what you can do and when you start bleeding." She nearly screamed as cannonfire assaulted her ears and things began tumbling down all around her, grateful for her father's quick thinking and protective instincts. "You healed me...can I help fix his mast? Or I suppose I should just wait and then heal everybody..."Glancing around for Savvy and then sighing with relief when she realized her father had reacted the same way.
Much happier at being set down, she latched to her brother and pulled him close to her. "I'm not a thief." Thus bursting into tears before the sound of cannonfire rang out and her ears pinned back against her head and she buried her head in her hands. "Owww..."

When Caden hear the words 'Get up there...' come from Sevilin he was off like a bullet and went right back upstairs to help the pirates in keeping the ship moving. When he found that he could help with the sails, well with what was left after the cannon fire, Caden was happy that he worked on the deck before this all happened or he would just get in everyone's way. So as others raced around to help in other means Caden was working on deck with the pirates, they could use any free hand that knew how to work on their boat.

"I couldn't do that." All he said before flapping large wings a good few times to head back up from the chasm and onto land again. Her transformation back had considerably lightened his load and for that, he was glad. Though Jae was smaller than him in size, she was still a full grown dragoness, muscles and all. Keeping a cautious eye out for more artillery, he flew quickly to catch up to the Gale Claw and let Eilynne slide off his back, supporting her with his tail somewhat. Even the Laerethe were not all invincible, he knew that. But heeding her warning, he turned back to the real white dragoness, dropping down beside her and mimicking her actions. "Jae, stop. Go back on the ship." Spoken in his ever calm tone but it was an order, nonetheless. He was not letting her get hurt, not for this or anything else.

Gem gave a laugh, tossing her head to toss her hair somewhat before another laugh. "Fang you've been outrun again! You've been weighed and measured and come up wanting!" Not that he would hear her but hey she didn't really care. The moment those extra sails were down, it was all the force both ships needed to glide along more smoothly through the sands, taking them out of rang of cannon fire. And still she continued in her path, carving it out with the Chimera in tow before she was barking out orders to trim the sails and to weigh anchor. After all, needed to assess some damages...and they were still off from thier destination still. "Bugger...Mister Robins...we need to assess damage."
She actually had the audacity to growl at him as he gave out the order. Not a usual sound for her, usually a purr rather than the more vicious sound was more common. And thusly she seemed to pressure a little harder in her pushing. "Just until the Gale Claw gets her wings out...Commander." Adding in the title just because she recognized his tone as the Commander voice. but yes, just until the Wings, after all her hearing could pick up all that was being said after all within the immediate area. If the other ship could just do that, then there would be enough pull from wind to make the other tag along and then there would be no need for pushing. Though she pitched forward into the sand the moment such a thing did occur and tugged what she was braced against away from her, both ships picking up through the sand a little and leaving danger behind. Bell would of just loved to lay there, but she forced herself up and into walking passing a look to Kaznec. "Now we can go..." Waiting for him before heading off after the ships, the moment they decided to stop, she plopped her dragon self down in the salt heavily. Oh...didn't want to move...despite how dangerous it could potentially be to lay around in salt.
"I'm fine. You'd be surprised how much I can take...this plane's energy just isn't flowing right, I have little to draw off of." Shaking his head at her. "No, for now leave it alone..." Still holding onto her as things were frantic on decks, and continued to be so even when both ships were coming to a halt in the sands. Only then did he let his daughter go. "Don't go around healing people just yet...your energy may have a better use...jumping without looking is faulty."
He hugged at his sister, petting at her hair as she burst into tears and have the dragoness a nasty look before back to his sister and the two of them were quite just a ball of each other as things continued outside, and then gradually settled. A blink at his sister then, "What were the big noises?"

Fang crossed his arms. he'd hit one dragon at least, and damaged the Chimera. Now where would they be going in the salt beds...before his eyes were blinded for a moment. damn it! what had done that and how did they get it in their aresenal?
"Full about. take us around the chasm, I want to head for the old temple. stop by any nomad camps we find, and replenish the stock on the ship, be it men or supplies. in fact..buy out everything. I want the Claw and the Chimera to be unable to get any supplies if they make it past us and come back this way."
Hunter was livid, and Mister Richard's was physically holding him back while he was swinging a cutlass and trying to get to a longboat.
"That damn bloody pirate! I'll cut him from stem to stern!"
Mister Richard's held tight.
"Remember, Captain...we have magical allies here. she can be repaired without too much donwtime I imagine. Nevermidn the fact that Fang would have your blasted out of the sand before you coudl even think to reach her."
"That's not the point! Now thanks to him I owe Gem even more of a ut then I did before! we won't make any profit at this rate! How am I supposed to maintain and take care of my ship without any funds to do it with?!"
Malik winced lightly, holding hsi shoulder some.
"Probably right. but better me than you I suppose."
Though hearing Hunter's yelling.
"Does he always put hisship ahead of his life? you'd think he'd be relatively pleased to still be among the living."
Desdemona picked them both up, and heading up the to the top deck with them. no, wasn't about to let them out of her sight but at least was was carrying one under each arm.
"Those were cannonballs. someone was attacking us."
then she got up on deck, looking around...and saw the Serpent veering course. the Claw was alright it looked like..the Chimera was in rougher shape...and how did they get across that chasm?
"Okay...someone care to tell me how we ran into him and how we crossed that?"

Giving her father a grateful smile and hug for still being there to protect her, she reachd up and shoved his braid off his shoulder. "Mama would kick your a** if she knew you bled out of your eyes, Daddy. Don't do that to me, okay?" Of a mind to agree with her father, she watched the others racing around and doing various things. She'd wait until she was asked to do something or Savvy needed her. Hunter got an eye roll. "Captain is throwing a hissy fit...again. Acts just like a toddler who doesn't get his own way."
She nuzzled him in comfort both for him and herself and shrugged. "Magic?" She squirmed when she was lifted once again and snapped at the dragoness. "We said no picking up!" Then curling nearly into a ball of herself at seeing everyone else. Was Daddy here anywhere? But another thought caused her to burst into tears again. "My sparkles!"
He was right behind her in celebration along with the rest of the crew who'd put a cheer when they were past the b*****d. Nobody liked Fang and everyone would have been pleased if his a** had landed in the chasm but fate was against them in that regard. Sadly. "Mostly minor hull damage considering. Multiple holes in the port and starboard side, Captain. Your statue is in bad shape as well from the strain of the ropes and three sails are destroyed. Definite damage on the bow from where the dragons dug their talons and horns in in an attempt to help us escape. I haven't checked below deck but Galley was not pleased. He swears there will be no more muffins until his counters are fixed..." Then a glance at Desdemona, "And we gained two stowaways."

The growl went unnoticed in the heat of the moment but the name-calling didn't. Actually, it confused him. She never called him that, unless it was for fun when they randomly ran into each other while he was on duty. And this was certainly not a fun moment for her or anyone else. But shaking that thought off, he merely helped push the ship along until the captains decided they were well out of range and stopped to assess damage and probably even take a head count. He made sure everything was straight and the Serpent wasn't anywhere close by, and then duly changed back to human form. No adverse side effects this time fortunately, just some aching of the back muscles. "Jae." Walking up to her snout and gently laying a palm on it.

Ugh her poor ship...her hull had long gashes and was splintered down the side. What Mister Robins was calling dragon damage. Not as bad bad the Chimera, but Hunter was more or less used to his ship getting banged up, he caused his own trouble. Of course that didn't stop him screaming about it, which was quite audible even from where she stood. A shake of her head and she propped her hands on her hips. "And not so much as a thank you...he's so stuck on himself..." But her attention turned back to Thobias and she rubbed at the back of her neck in that 'well what now' fashion...hm, if they were lucky they would come across nomads...ones that wouldn't try to hurt them at least. Well...at least they had dragons that could provide food by hunting and that ice the other was good at could give them water. Not to mention the dragons could indeed cover fast distances...hm, maybe they could get supplies that way.
"Alright, first things first. We need to mend the sails as best we can. If we need to take from the Wings, do so for now till we can get our hand on more material. Anything hull damage...patch up from the inside only what looks like might let us take on sand, or for right now salt. The object men is to survive this right now and then repair as we can later. Then help with the Chimera. Hawk got me damned into this and I'm not going to let his laggy ship drag me down." Turning to Desdamona then, "Ice bridge," and blinking at the annoucement of stowaways. And another blink. "My God they're...positively adorable! I always manage the cute things don't I? Where did we pick those up?"
"Mmm this is true. Something happens to me, especially if you're around, and I think she'd quite make you pay in torturous ways that even you haven't thought of to torture a man in before." Which was a scary scary thought. Her own flare of power died down though as her senses began to relay back to her that things were fine now...or as fine as they could get and Chylithair circling overhead and making noises was a good clue too. A slight look over to the direction of rather angry screaming and she nodded her head. "As far as I've seen, yes. Nothing matters above this forsaken sand going vessel." Shaking her head a moment, "You're hurt."
An odd look over to the captain before his eyes passed over to Malik and Savryn before back to his own daughter. Far as he was concerned he was oblivious to the blood that trailed from his eyes with every blink he gave. Used to it yes. "What she doesn't know saves her the grief. And I'll do as I please missy, I'm the parent here." Giving her a chuckle before going about checking her over for the moment, making sure she was alright, at least bodily. "You should be used to such fussy, you have how many siblings now? I've lost count."
And picked up again as well as seperated from his sister. It was an uneasy feeling everytime that happened, those two were more or less joined at the hip. Only time there was any distance between them it seemed was when they were playing games that called for such a thing. Frowning at his sister and reaching over in an attempt to soothe her. "Don't cry! We can get more!" Or at least he hoped. But a distracted blink as they were brought up on deck and more people were looking at them...and calling them cute.
Let's see, mental check...okay, take the easy answer. Everything hurt. Paws from clawing, body from slamming into walls, grounds, and against ships. And she had a feeling of cold about her from extensive use of that breath weapon of hers having chilled her off a fair amount of degrees. Also that was a lot of energy to use and sustain such a thing and she wasn't as big as most dragons, always had been on the small side. A snuff at the feeling of Kaz's hand on her snout and she opened her eyes to watch him a minute as well. "See...everything's fine now." Tail being the only thing that was really moving right now as it barely pushed salt aside with barest movement. "On the bright side...plan worked. Told you I had a plan that would work. It's what I do."

He wasn't just giving a comforting gesture, he too was looking over her dragon form and taking note of the external injuries. Probably wasn't as extensive as the internal ones though, unfortunately. She did look positively worn out. His eyes met hers, watching him through slit-like pupils, and he felt the coldness of her breath against his skin. "You are good at what you do." Yes, the plan had worked but that didn't make him any less concerned or approving of it. "How do you feel?"

A dragon's smile at the little sentence of affirmation and what one could consider praise. At least he didn't scold her about it. Then again he didn't scold...just got that look that said he was upset even if he didn't fuss. Which was slightly reading through on his features. "Cold and heavy." Thusly splaying her wings to let the sun catch on the thinner membrane so the blood coursing through would heat faster, maybe at least heat her back up some a little quicker. Somewhere in the back of her mind instinct was telling her to be mindful that she not lay too long in a mineral that would suck the moisture right out of you. But for right now, not moving too much. "You're alright, right? Nothing bad happening?" He knew what hse was talking about and while she never belittled him about the problem, she did worry about it in certain aspects. Much like how he was about her state of constant clumsiness. "And Eilynne is alright too?"

Hunter calmed himself down a bit, and grumbled lightly.
"Assess all damage, and I want a meeting with the little lady and lord as soon as possible. I wanted every possible way around this chasm without magical aid made available to both myself and Gem in an hour. get the white dragon on that, or Desdemona. I want Kanzec in my cabin as well for a meeting."
Running his hand along the railing of his ship rather lovingly, before a glance over at the elves. all four of them..and was that dark male bleeding form his eyes?
"You necromancer types...any aid you can give for the repairs of my ship I'll appreciate. you, sribe girl, and I assume that is your father there with you, my cabin, right now. Guardian, below decks, help assess damage and when we are done with that, you can help repair it with anything we got that can be used to fix it. Wood is very rare out this far."
then to the general crew.
"The rest of you...I want my ship able to sail in the next three hours. if it's not ready to sail, I will personally use your bodies to plug holes or your skins to repair my sails with!"
Glancing at Mister Richards before storming himself back to his cabin.
Mister Richard's turned on the crew.
"You heard the man! I want to see nothing but backsaide and sweat out of you! I want you to work so hard I can use the sweat off your brow to swab these decks! Move!"
grabbing the bosun's whip and cracking it one good time just to watch the crew scatter like roaches to work on whatever they could as fast as they could, before he glanced to Sevilin and Shyrae.
"I suggest you both go to the cabin. I think he's going to want an explaination for how the Serpent caught us with our collective pants relatively down."
Desdemona glanced at the girl, and snorted lightly.
"they weren't your shinies. they were the Captain of the vessel's shinies. amybe if your nice she'll give you some."
setting them down in front of Gem.
"I was trying to find that out. all I got out of them was that the 'came in the light'. I assume some kind of magic. but they are too young to know that kind of thing on thier own. someone has obviously been taking care of them. the boy there has shoes on his hooves."
though a longing glance to the chimera and a small grin at hunter's shouting.
"Some things never change."
Malik smirked lightly at his daughter.
"Only a little. fractured shoulder, probably tow or three fractures along my arm and I'm pretty sure I at the least sprained my wrist. and I can understand the Captain a bit. after all, this is his home. and you know how I feel about people trying to get into our house or damage it uninvited."
