Going to heave a squid?
I went to see Coraline yesterday. I must say, it was a wonderful movie. the 3D was top notch and the story was a nice little fable. I may see it again if i can find someone to go with me this time.

Rex Mason James Rupert Rhodes Any one gonna watch the new Jason moive? Maybe for the new Transformers trailer, but other than that, no. Doesn't even look like it'll be his Mom, which is just... well bad as in twist wise. I enjoyed that twist. That was what legitimized Friday the 13th for me, in a sense. Set it apart from all the other slasher flicks of the day, like Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street. (The latter of which I liked much more, though.) The killer wasn't an unkillable monster, it was a woman with severe mental problems. Caught me off guard too, since I was expecting Jason. New one doesn't look great, as is the norm with Michael Bay's projects. Regardless, my friends convinced me to see it. As cheap as it is, I'm a bit of a fan of the slasher genre, and I hope it at least succeeds in that respect. As for Coraline... I can't say I'm interested. I've liked a lot of stuff Gaiman's done in the past, and loved the Nightmare Before Christmas, but this genre just isn't my thing. I hated MirrorMask. stare

Anyway, my thoughts:
Echo's little monologue at the beginning read like it was Faith saying it. That and until the little scene at the docks, I really wasn't believing Echo as a negotiator. The outfit was almost comical on her. That said, the show looks promising, so I'll probably tune in next week.

I thought the show was great. When I saw Echo in the negotiator outfit I had to think that past clients had wanted naughty librarians and they had the outfit left over. This role is going to be a make or break for Dushku. It's going to require a remarkable acting rank and I really want to see her pull it off. She's already done one thing with the show I didn't think possible: made the line "Where's my glasses?" completely bad a**.

Did I watch Dollhouse, honestly. Do you remember who I am? blaugh
Saw it, liked it a lot. I'm curious to see if Eliza can pull off the wide variety of roles she's gonna need for this, especially if any of them DON'T require her to be a badass sex kitten. I love her to death, but she tends to play Buffy the Bond Girl half the time. I'd like to see her move away from that.
I'm really impressed with the premise of the show, however, especially once the negotiator aspect came up. I'd never thought that a show about people's fantasies would ever go into something along those lines: Not someone's fantasy, but genuinely what they need.
Also, I keep thinking Dr. Saunders is just Fred, de-Illyriafied.
I'll be tuning in, but I think I'm hopeful.

That's one of things that really caught my interest about the first episode: Dushku completely turned off the sex appeal as the negotiator. Attractive girl, but handled herself like a strict professional. When confronted by that kidnapper she "knew" I found her reaction to him completely believable. The role of Echo is going to be incredibly demanding, moreso than anything she's done in the past. I'm completely in, because I want to see Eliza Dushku show me how good of an actress she is.
