Having calmed the arguing down a bit, he was finally relaxed and ready to begin again. Maybe now, now that the two had calmed to a resting halt, he could get in some solid ppractice with the jutsu. After all, having 3 screaming adults running around firing off blasts that could melt your skin without really tring...tends to make a person a bit distracted.
Now, back to business at hand. his shadow had moved before he was so rudly inturrupted. he knew that. Which meant he knew there was something beyond his feet. Something else to grasp ahold of with his chakra and move with his sheer will. he had to do this and master if. If he could, he'd have a very interesting secret weapon. After all, no one expects a person outside the Nara family to use it. He'd have the surprise element in almost every fight

The distraction was still lingering. He hadn't had enough time during his one success to get a feel for the jutsu and do it properly. So now he was having more problems. He couldn't remember what the right way felt like and so he was back tod oing it however he thought was possible. This wasn't going to be easy by any means.
He listened to the sound of the wind as it blew across the barren platue top. The silence was golden to him now really. He enjoyed it far more than the adult bickering that ws going on just a moment ago. It was so nice to have a moments peace really. He couldn't think of a better moment ot practice with. And he wouldn't want to squander it. So with little effort, he reapplied the rat seal and began to pump his chakra again through his body.

Silence was truly golden. And this was the proof. His shadow began to move and shift like some bloob-ish creature. He looked to it to see the strange feat occure. HIs shadow seemed to darken a bit as the chakra filled it and gave it form and control. It seemed to thicken and bubble about like a ball of water over a fire. What an interesting view he had of such a strange event.
Soon though, it settled back down. It was only a bit of a start but still it was one. Not waisting a moment, he began to hunker down and attempt another try at the manipulation.

His chakra wasn't moving just right at this point and he hadn't let it settle before trying to move it. Picture two rivers that were side by side, one begins to be diverted and just when it was returning to its normal flow, the other river was diverted into it at the opposite direction. thats kind of how it felt. Like his controled chakra was clashing with the natural flow as it returned to a natural state. It didn't hurt or anything, just felt weird. He sighed a little and began to try again.

And once again, the bubbling of darkness resumed. His shadow again seemed to darken a few hues deeper than its natural state and it seemed almost to take form or shape. It began to bubble and shift about dramatically and vibrently. Like a pack of cats all stuck inside the same bag or something. It was almost comical to view this but as he did, he began to try something. It was a similar experiment to when he was creating his jutsu. He began to push his chakra about in different ways and directions to see if the shadow ball would follow.
At first, it did as it pleased but soon, obvious changes were made. The ball began to have larger bubbles in the directions eh was pushing. it was paying attention to him. He broke the shadow and sighed a bit as he began to prepe for his next attampt.

Maybe he need to rest between each attempt. It'd help if he thought about that before pushing his chakra. No, he had to take his chances and push himself. Yes...that was his style. Even when he knew he'd probably get bad result, there was nothing lost for trying and that was something to believe in. Only those who never try never know what might hav been. At the very least he sates his curiosity by pushing himself and doing things more and more. He smiled a bit as he looked up and reapplied his chakra again.

Now he had it. He was finally gaining it. The control he desired. He had obtained control over the shadow that he wished to have. The shadow, this time didn't grow any noticible darker shade. it just seemed to flow at his will. he looked about to see what he wanted to do and soon found his shadow moving at his will. He had gotten it and it was quite refreshing but there was still something.
He had to stop others with his shadow now. He was almost there, almost at thep oint of mastering this jutsu. All he had to do was keep practicing what he had already. Returning his shadow to its normal area, he took a deep breath and then applied his chakra again to see how it went. His target was a rabbit that was moving nearby.

The rabbit was probably very pleased that it wouldn't be the plaything of this boy. He watched as it sped off into the distance. He sighed and grumbled a bit. Of course, his shadow didn't move toward the rabits but that was probably what spooked it. It moved back to position as he stood there and looked on for a long moment. He couldn't well do it without a target. he waited for a long moment before he saw a small rat come up from under a crack in the stones. He decided to use it.
Hunkering down, he began to apply his chakra once more to see if he could focus and get the rat.

Still the rat saw it coming and dashed off. It was a repeate performance of the rabbit. He could only watch in annoyance as the rat dashed quickly back into its hole. It even stuck its head back out almost like it was teasing him. With a growl he moved a step toward the hole to frighten the rat back in. Pety, yes but he was annoyed. He almost had it, he simply had to find a target to practice it on.
Looking about, he spotted a snake slithering a distance off. It was moving from one shade to another, this would make it quite easy to move his shadow toward it. Again, applying the rat seal moved the chakra down to his feet. He began to move to catch the snake.

Even the snake was too fast for him. What a day this was turning out to be. However, it would work out for the better as there was something else that he noticed. The snake HADN'T noticed him. So he had a bit more to work with now. Having missed the attempt on his freedom, the snake was still moving at a regular rate and was still well within Roy's range. So he preped again and moved to strike.

It creeped, moving quietly and quickly toward the unsuspecting reptile. It moved quickly and soon caught the snake in mid slither...and there was nothing...the snake didn't move an inch. It seemed to shiver or shake a bit...it was trying ot move but couldn't. SOmething was preventing it. Roy had done it. He had the jutsu of Shadow Possession!
With a loud sigh and then a cheer, he jumped into the air. The chakra released the snake who instantly shot forward in fear of what had happened to it. He was hopping around for expecting reasons. He loved it.

Deciding that was enough proactice for the day, Roy packed up and headed off, gathering his mother in the porcess. He bowed deeply to Shiki-boy as thanks and walked off.

Zephyr eyed Shikamori cheerfully waving his student goodbye while he watched Yokou stare at the sky, her usual blank expression signifying that she was in deep thought. “Come now, let us go.” Came the quiet order, before he got up, not waiting to see if his two students followed or not.

[B-rank Mission: Pay backs a b***h!]
Giglamesh would head in to the Aniki moutian range looking upwards to the shi pleatu, this is were he would find his vengance and his thirst. Rain was still pouring and only black could be seen, everthing was nothing ore than a shilouete in the blackend night storm. Giglamesh would run at a slower than full speed at the moutians base, searching in the clasps of lightning.
It took a few minutes be he found it, pools of water, in this rain it would be extremly expected. Execpt there were pools of water within small footprints, keiko's foot prints he had found the direction of which she came. As the ground was so soft from all the rain the lightest person would make foot prints as they ran and rain pooled in these makeing it easeir to find and a line directly to gig's target. He would head straight up tthe pleatu's the falling rain comeing downwards like bullet as he ran up the pleatu's wall. As he reached the top he would find the foot prints agin and head from where the direction that they came.
