What model is it? I got one a few months back, but I didn't get to play on it much. Now that I am, I find out it's a bit heavier than the student model I was playing for seven years. cool
It's a Bach Omega. Got it at half price because they're not in production for a few years now.

What kind of valve oil do you guys use? I've tried Blue Juice (which gunks up valves like crazy. It seriously left a thick film. I mean it works great, but I don't want to constantly clean my valves) and Pro Oil (not so great. It's like a pink color and hardly lasts. You need to constantly re-oil with it) and just plain off brand clear (eh, it's O.K.) I'm buying some valve oil on the internet this week and I need some opinions. 3nodding

I use Al Cass Fast valve, slide and key oil ^^ looks like that you can use it on the slide, valves and even any rotary valves its soo amazing I can usually go weeks without having to actually take em out, clean and totally oil; just a drop every now and then is perfect && it doesn't gunk up mine

i need advice~ well, my current main instrument is french horn, but i also have my trumpet. and i'm going to take a 1-year hiatus on trumpet because i want to focus on playing my horn and a few other things. and i need to keep my trumpet because the year after i'm thinking of rejoining my school's jazz band so i need to keep my trumpet. but i'm not going to be playing it often and need to store it. any tips on what i should do to keep it in shape so i don't have to get as much done at the repair shop? i'm going to clean it and everything, but is there anything else i need to do? (it needs a few dents taken out, polished, etc. normal things for a trumpet 3 years old) and yes, i'm going to get a new mouthpiece for it BEFORE i start playing it again. i need a new one anyway... (marks from where it had to be pulled out from when it got stuck. twice.)

Just oil/grease the appropriate parts and wipe it down well after you clean it. Everything else I'd leave to the pros!
So I bought a 1 1/2C mouthpiece, as per my lesson teacher's instructions. DO NOT LIEKZ. :C
