I am still here, however occupied. My school has banned this website, so now my time to work on it is limited to home-time.
And I've missed my own deadline on the submissions thread, I know. xp
I did, however, invite a friend to come work with us, but she may or may not accept. Her time is rather limited.
Don't ask me about my NaNoWriMo, because it's not doing well. It seems I'm doing more planning than writing, which is no good. But I'd rather fail than give up, so down I go.
Question: Should we have a Best of Issue for the NaNoWriMo themed issue?

I'm going to say no to the BOI. The whole theme for NaNoWriMo should be just to write-write-write rather than try to make it something worth reading, in my perspective.
And I'd rather not have any inquiries on my NaNo-ing, either. I've been too busy this month to get much of anything done.

Thank God there's no voting. I really need to get to critiquing something, but it's 4AM over here at the moment, so I don't think I will today. Plus, Thanksgiving + my brother's birthday.
I think everyone just gets increasingly and increasingly more busy. The 'Zine would be a lot more functional with some more staff.

Neither happened to me, and thankfully everyone involved is alright, but it derailed my productivity a bit. Nano is not going well for me, either. I was ahead, and then everything happened, and now I'm over a week behind. fuuuuun.

I had a friend who got in a pretty bad wreck recently. He's okay though. He wrecked on a Wednesday night, went into the hospital and had an MRI and an IV and everything, and then marched the following Friday at half-time. Then went to a marching contest the following day. rolleyes
But yeah. NaNoWriMo ends in 4 days, and then we publish.

Are we submitting our own bits of Nanowrimo, or do we have other author's lined up?

I gave up on NaNo two weeks ago. At exactly 8,000 words.
I had a writing breakdown. gonk So, if people from the 'Zine are publishing the staffs', go ahead and count me out.

Well, either way, we'd probably only be using the first few pages of a person's work, anyway... I'll see if I can cram out a column for this month-I have lots to rant about in regards to Nanowrimo, so it shouldn't be too hard. My finals start this week, though, so I may get caught up in them. I can edit the first few pages of my Nano, if we need it, and I should still be able to get a review up before the end of the month.

Well, unless I find time somewhere I wouldn't count on my article for this month. I suppose I might be able to throw some s**t together, but it won't be too indepth, and might have a picture of a cute kitten. Frankly, things have been way to hetic for me this month.

It seems we're all getting caught up in the real world. I'll be out late on Thursday and probably won't be able to get on, so I can't publish it on our usual date (as well as the fact that I have practically nothing done, except the Submissions thread, which I will link shortly). Sadly, we'll have to publish on the 1st, so that gives everyone a day or so more, if that helps. We didn't get many submissions, so if anyone would like to put in an excerpt of their novel with a little author's note on your NaNoWriMo experience, please do. Link.

I have a column, review, and except lined up for this month, I just still need to edit all of them. But never fear, they should be done by this evening!
Edit: ok, my column has been edited (#7), but I still need to edit the review and put them both in the draft. I have to run off now, but I should be back in a few hours, and can quikcly do it then. If you need to publish before then, the reveiw just needs a quick run through Word, and it will be ready enough.
Edit2: ok, review edited, and put in La Revue thread. Of to do a quick little edit of my nano excerpt.
Edit3: alright, nano submission added to the submission thread. Didn't have time to edit it much, and I have to run off again or I'd add it to the draft myself.

Okay, okay, I need another day. gonk Sorry everyone.
Note to self: Don't forget the links and the minor draft details.
I got most of the draft done, anyway. I'll be gone most of tomorrow, but once I get home I'll finish.

I think the hosting on some of our banners has expired or something. xp I'm not the only one seeing red X's, am I? Okay. So I got a few ideas on how to improve things, makes stuff more... convenient, accessable, whatever, to both readers and new staff. For one, in each segment, have a link back here to the thread. Example: Put a link in Jaho's Point! What's Your Point? banner back to his thread here. That way he can get feedback and etc, and then do the same with the other segments. With reviewers, we can put a link in the La Revue banner, and links to the individual reviewer threads under their name. Also, start making a habit of putting in the Amazon links. I plan to add a formatting guide to the main post there, and I'll probably do that with the rest also. Basically, stick a lot of convenient links in the draft, and then have a sort of mini guide to reading The Press somewhere, so people are aware of the links and will use them. And with that, the next step would be house cleaning and making the guild a more hospitable place. 3nodding And then it'll hopefullly induce more staff-hiring. ninja EDIT: THE GAIAN PRESS - Issue 22.0
