Yuri Valentine - Sifu Oh dear sweet bearded baby christ, just read the battle system...and I think I may be bleeding from my ears from my brain overheating trying to wrap my head around it all. Megaton complicated, and it's been years since I played any pokemon game, and never anything past 3rd gen. Having looked over lot of the topics here, I apologize but I'm gonna have to respectfully exit. It's just way too complex for me. It's not too bad. Just roll a 20-sided die for every attack your Pokemon uses, another one if you control your enemy as well, and a 100-sided die ONLY if your move has a secondary status effect. We just needed to detail every possible situation so that there can be no error. Level-up is on a by-post basis, so it's simplified from the old word basis. Random Item Get is a random thing that I came up with in the past rendition that... actually isn't used much. XD If you need more help, feel free to PM the admins. JD and I went for quite a while in the last rendition, so I might dare say we have the most battling experience.

Should we set up a mock battle thread in the lower section of our forums (with Battles, Rules, Chatterbox, etc) to demonstrate a quick Trainer battle and a wild battle? Rolls can go in a thread that we'll delete after full transcription into the mock battle thread, and we'll need to include at least 1 (secondary?) status move, 1 normal move, 1 never-miss move, and one multi-target move. Thus, we should probably stage a Double battle or a Single/Double battle. I'll try and cut my posts short if we do this, since the focus is on how to battle and not how to write. XD

Might take a day or two; I have a couple review sessions for midterm study that I'll need to attend very soon. We can work out the details now, but I might not be able to write the battle until after 8 today. I think we can get away with using one thread for dice rolls, or should we roll for both of our Pokemon in the battle thread itself? We would still need to make another post or three for any status/secondary status moves we use though. EDIT: We'll need at least 1 self-boost, 1 PRZ/BRN/TOX, 1 Sapped, 1 Weather/Power Boost ability/attack, and... Yeah. 1 Double and 1 Single ought to be enough; one can be longer depending on our needs.

You either have two Trainers using more Pokes or more Trainers doing a Single. I think a Double with more Trainers will be more confusing than the two of us using two or three each. XD) A battle with three Pokes apiece is a Triple, Ninten ^^ but yes, we'll do that then I'll head on and do the Wild Encounter real quick. Old characters, why not. I can still find the old pic of Wes.

XD) By "set the field" I mean just that: determine the NPC team for a Single battle, and define any other information prior to having players take control.
