Radevel didn't even bother to stop his malicious laughter. "Oh, your wife is it?" he said with an obviously sarcastic tone of caring, only one foot stepping back to keep himself steady with the push. "Hm.. I wonder how she'd feel if she were to find out while on your way to see her, you were having some boy pleasure you? No matter now, though. You won't be laying another f***ing finger on him again!"

Radevel could care less that they were off the bus. Not only did it stop Talis from finishing his trip, he now had a wider space to move to exact his revenge on this piece of filth. And with that thought, he lunged himself at the man, fists drew back to deliver his fury in the form of raw, painful action. He meant to take the other to the ground. That way, he could dish out each punch in an easy close range.

The man resisted falling backwards until Radevel's weight on him became too great. His back slammed onto the pavement. It was true he was married, but then again wasn't everyone these days? Who minded fidelity anymore? Immediately sending a knee toward Radevel's side, the elder of the two struggled to get the other off of him.

Talis's eyes widened at the activities taking place before him. A fist-fight? Since when did his lover ever participate in those? Apparently... starting now. "Cut it out!" he protested, edging closer to the fallen pair and yet unsure how to make a safe approach.

The knee collided against his ribs, causing Radevel to grunt uncomfortably, but he wasn't about to retreat from a small sting to the side. He was no stranger to hand-to-hand fighting, despite some people thinking he worked with nothing but a weapon in his grasp. He instead worked one leg up in order to press his own knee into the man's stomach, as if to pin him harshly to the ground. Talis's words were hardly even registering with him. He just wanted to continue wailing his balled fists onto this stranger beneath him. "Stay back, Talis!" he managed.

Crunch. One of Radevel's punches landed square on the man's nose, breaking it. Blood began spilling from the man's nose as he punched back angrily from the side. Radevel's knee kept him down. The fight persisted, and a few more punches later mixed with blood loss-- the man lost consciousness.

He saw red. Red blood. Gushing from some man's nose who'd barely touched him. Okay, perhaps the man had done more than that, but Talis hadn't played out every sexual desire. Unable to really tell who was hitting who, the only thing that Talis could recall was how awful... how completely horrible it felt to be in that man's place. Talis knew he had bruising along his side and ribcage where Radevel had kicked him. He knew what it was like to be hit in the face. His jaw and cheek were still tender. "Stop it, Radevel! Stop it right now! You'll kill him!" Talis didn't know what to do. He began throwing his things at the man to get but his attention. A shirt.. deodorant... Talis took off his shoe and threw it at his enraged lover. "STOP!"

The items hitting him. Radevel thought they were merely the pathetic attempts of the man throwing his final punches. That is, until something hit him in the head. Something that didn't quite feel like a fist at all. He looked up in time to notice a shoe bounce back down to the ground. That was when he realized his hands were covered in blood. Not to mention some stained into his white shirt. Looking down, he eyed his work, unmoving below him. For some reason, however, he just wasn't satisfied. But hearing Talis in the background.. 'Stop!'

Radevel pictured what had been Talis below him that morning, receiving a similar beating as he begged for mercy. That had the larger man pushing away, coming to his feet. His breath was coming in long, shallow pants. If he was lucky, maybe the guy would just get ran over.

Talis was breathing heavily, watching Radevel's back as the white-haired man finally rose to his feet. He was so frustrated. Why was Radevel even here?

"What's your problem?! You could've killed him, Radevel!" the boy nearly shouted at the man. Cars zinged past them. Talis began rummaging through his bag for an extra shirt to use on the fallen man's bloody nose.

Radevel crossed his arms moodily, glaring down one end of a seemingly endless road. On either side of them seemed to be nothing but row upon row of wheat and corn. He didn't understand how anyone could live so far out of civilization.

"Another couple minutes and I gladly would've," he mumbled under his breath. "You could have very well gotten yourself killed, you know that? Going to New York by yourself." He snorted at the ignorance of the idea. "If someone didn't drag you into an alley and kill you, you probably would have starved to death. I have never heard of a more stupid idea in all my life."

Light brown eyes glared daggers at Radevel who stood there, stained with blood, and Talis moved with a spare shirt in hand to kneel by the unconscious man. He observed the man's bloodied appearance with a clear look of disgust. Taking his shirt, he reached down to begin stemming the blood coming from the man's nose.

"Well, I didn't ask you to tag along," he replied bitterly, "And I can't see what difference my well-being makes to you. Why are you even here, Rad?" Talis didn't look up at the man. "I'm nothing. I have nothing left to give you, okay? Nothing."

Radevel just couldn't bring himself to understand why Talis would help this man. The one who had practically been molesting him on a public bus. "Why does it matter what reason I'm here for?" he asked, tone obviously defiant to give something away. "I'm just here, alright?" No, it wouldn't be that easy for the man to just come right and say he was wrong. He couldn't so easily just ask the boy for forgiveness. He had never brought himself down to such a level.

He began to pace angrilly along the side of the road, pulling his cell phone out of his pocket. "Dammit!" he cursed at the 'no service' image he received, shoving the phone back into his pocket.

Talis glared up at the pacing man hearing that dismissal. What did it matter? What did it matter?!? Talis stuffed the shirt underneath the man's head for the time being and stood up, folding his arms in a guarded fashion. "It matters a lot! You got me thrown off my d*mn bus and beat up this poor guy. You obviously don't give a d*mn about me, so yes, it does matter! What do you want?" he asked, exasperated, "To hurt me? Well, you've managed that thoroughly without any problem, Radevel. To ruin me? You're on the right track. Did you not get enough satisfaction before from reducing me to nothing at your feet? Fine!" Talis was beyond upset, beyond furious. He screamed at Radevel, voice thick with emotion. "Why don't you just f***ing KILL me? Take your gun out and kill me right now because we both know that some stupid whore is more important to you than ME!" Tears threatened to roll down the youth's cheeks and it wouldn't be long before they burst out. Talis had lowered his voice, yet it was still laced with pent-up feelings. "I hate loving you, Radevel Taibal! I hate that my words to you mean nothing. I hate that I mean nothing. And I hate that you can just stand there and say 'why does it matter' when you should KNOW it matters."

Radevel kept his back to the enraged boy, taking every shot Talis through. His words seemed to hurt worse than any hit he received from the unconcious stranger. He absolutely hated it. A shakey hand ran through his hair tensely, gripping his white lockes before releasing them. "Do you not understand anything?!" he finally yelled, not moving to face the boy. "I never said you didn't mean anything to me, Talis! Shinto.. taking him was just a scam to put Lady B out of business, alright?" For he had indeed had a long rivalry with the woman. He finally spun around, jabbing a finger toward the smaller boy. "But don't you dare try to tell me you don't mean anything to me. I was willing to get on some bus to go 200 f***ing miles away into New York bring you back. And no, I didn't do it because I wanted to kill you. And not because I wanted exact some sort of f***ing revenge." Though his narrow eyes bore straight toward Talis, they held something else aside from just pure anger. A sort of.. compassion.

"Look, if you're still wanting to go to New York, fine. We'll find you another bus." Radevel dug into his back pocket and tossed his wallet in the dirt by Talis's feet. "The cash and credit cards in there will be more than enough to make yourself a decent living. But you will not let yourself be taken advantage of by some half-assed b*stard on a bus. Or anywhere, for that matter, got it?" Along with his own rant, the anger seemed to slowly subside within him.

"It wasn't you that let Shinto go. I obviously found that out too late," Radevel said, releasing a heavy sigh. "I.. I made a mistake."

Talis was shocked into silence as it was the man's turn to rant now. Shinto was just a scam? Even after all those things the man said to him... in the heat of the moment that night... Talis wanted to believe it. He was soon moved off dwelling on Shinto as his lover turned about. Talis felt the intense gaze upon him and his brown orbs finally met blue ones. Radevel was so angry and yet... Talis detected some hint, some hope for him-- he didn't know what it was, but he noticed something there.

Hearing a small plop at his feet, he looked down to spy the smooth, black leather wallet on the ground. He looked back up at Radevel, but didn't reach for the wallet. He'd seen it so many times... whenever or whereever they went, Radevel just reached into that back pocket and pulled out the wallet to pay for his coffee and a newspaper or for a 'special' treat for Tal. Talis frowned. Radevel had come all this way... beat up a man, gotten him thrown off of a bus and now was finally prepared to make peace with allowing Talis to just go? Just like that. Radevel was even wanting to help Talis, it seemed.

But why? Talis understood a bit more with Radevel's final confession.

He made a mistake. Talis could hear his own breathing now in the quiet-- minus the sound of cars passing by. After several minutes passed, Talis found his voice. "Yeah, you did," he murmured, "but I don't want your money, Rad." The air hung thickly between them, and Talis bent over to pick up the wallet and brushed dust off of the fine leather. He turned it over anxiously in his lightly trembling fingers. Swallowing a lump in his throat, he admitted softly, "I just miss you."

Radevel wanted to be angry with him. Why couldn't Talis just accept his admittance and go back with him? But he just couldn't bring himself to have further ill feelings toward him. It was as if he were drained of being upset, annoyed and frustrated. All such emotions just incapable of surfacing once more after a tiring day. That is, all except the want -or was it the need, this feeling?- for Talis to come back. Either way, if the boy was still so set on leaving, he would see him to have enough money to give him a fair living. Whether he obliged to doing so or not.

But maybe -if he were to play his cards smart- maybe he could end this day in the way he was aiming to do. To bring Talis back.

"You don't have to," Radevel said. "Just.. come back home with me. You don't have to miss anything." He was just hoping Talis wouldn't become stubborn and decline. Oh god, he was hoping.

Chestnut hues slowly raised from the black leather to gaze at the man, not standing but five feet from him. A breeze tugged at loose blond strands as the skyy faded into shades of orange, and the sun began to set. Talis's mind was waging an internal war on his feelings. Radevel had beaten, demeaned, and made him fear for his life earlier that very day. Radevel made him fear for his life... on more than rare occasion. Logic told Talis to remove himself from such a situation-- to be safer. Yet the youth struggled. Radevel... saved him. He took care of him and tolerated his presence. He embraced Talis's sexuality- to say the least. And there were those precious moments... where Radevel had held Talis when he was breaking that made the youth feel the safest in the world.

Talis hesitated, catching his wounded lower lip up in his mouth and sucking nervously on the healing split. A tormented frown marked his brow. "I--" he began.

"I can't go back with y-you, Rad. I don't think it's a good idea," he murmured painfully.

Needless to say, Radevel was somewhat shocked. Irked by the boy's negative answer, but also shocked. Even if Talis had only been with him for the past two years, it seemed as if he couldn't remember a time he wasn't there. After the countless times he had wished Talis was out of his hair, he now wanted nothing more than to have him back in the house, nagging him to come out of his office and to quit being boring. In those moments in time, he may have thought it in light to send the boy off to New York. But for it to really happen?

"But Talis," he started, hating how desperate he was beginning to sound. Radevel may have offered him the money and support to leave, but he wasn't actually expecting him to go. "I told you.. What I did to you was a mistake. What.. What do you want me to do?"
