"The god of war, hmm?" Gilraen shrugs. "Maybe there's a reason to go to Aramil, then, other than your eye. If we can get them to work with us, we'll stand a better chance against Zach. Aramil is the most technologically advanced country in the world, right? We could use that to our advantage. Especially if there are any survivors from Yuran who couldn't make it here...Zach may conscript them into his army, as fodder at the very least."

"Gilrean, don't you recall? We already have their assistance thanks to Queen Maria and King Akeem's connection to eachother. But again... I can't leave, I can't put anyone else in charge of caring and teaching everyone here." Exceed told Gilrean as he approached one of the windows, looking out into the woods as he could see plenty of humans and even dark elves beginning to get along as children. "We need more assistance than just them.... we need one of our leaders to be here to watch over everyone here."

"Yeah, and where are they now?" Gilraen keeps looking over at Exceed. "Where were they when Nocturne was crushing us in Yuran? If we have their assistance, then we need better access to it." Gilraen walks over. "How long does it take you to make a fully functional robot? Not very long, right?"

"With our current set of materials.... it's going to take awhile as I will need alot of copper and plenty of steel to make another assistant. Because this one needs to attend to the needs of everyone here." Exceed told Gilrean as he spoke about their leaders and it caused Exceed to sigh again. "I know how it felt my friend..."

"I wasn't really asking you to build another robot. Not really. Just a suggestion. Under normal circumstances, you can build something kind of quickly, right? You should be able to at least make an eye in that amount of time. It's not even a waste of resources. We're going to need you to have both eyes when we have to fight again. You're a commander, and you're going to need your full faculties to command in this fight. We are going to have to fight against the god whose purpose it is to fight." He looks at Exceed, and smirks.

Gilrean was stubborn, something Exceed couldn't shake as the man spoke about making an eye in seconds. He sighed and soon said, "Do you know... where I can find a good cleric Mr. Gilrean?" Exceed asked as he needed a real cleric, one that was serving in the forces to help them. "I know you all need me at my full stature, but until we can get the assistance of a cleric, I can't perform that kind of work to attach a new eye."

Gilraen laughs. "My job consists of running errands and shooting things. Not listed there is knowing where I can find a cleric like that. That's more administrative, I would think, which would mean that it follows under your job description more than mine. Where do you send these people to get medical treatment? I would think you could find someone who could help you there. It is, after all, a medical issue that you're going through."

The thunderous sound of wings beating the sky into submission preceded the beating of hooves down the hall of the palace. On any regular day Vraelios would have calmly entered, taking the time to appreciate the beautiful way the original builders crafted a palace into a tree without disturbing the life around it. As nature was wont to do, it reclaimed its space. Now branches grew into the very foundation and walls of the palace, creating a beautiful union of nature and man. But this was not a day for joy and beauty. The fighting with Nocturne's forces was getting worse and worse. There seemed to be no respite, and every day Vraelios and his companion Balerion were out on the fringe of the forests laying down their lives to protect Kranila. Just now they had come from the border between Yuran and the forest nation. He had felt a pang of hurt through the trees and their roots. The dragoon and the dragon had rushed to the sight and did all they could to quell the raging fire someone had set, then it was a matter of dealing with who had done it. Before Vraelios rounded the corner he shifted into his elf form. Under his arm he held his helm, beautifully crafted out of dragon bone. It had one large spike and the other was broken. His armor was dirty, tested, and gore spattered. Vraelios always sported a very long braid and beard, it made him look very rugged and just as natural as the world around him. "We have pushed back the dark ones...for now." It was clear that he was tired, very tired. As a testament to the connection their shared a roar from above came. Vrael smiled faintly and looked to the sky, closing his eyes momentarily in thanks to his friend.

• Kelios' Guidance Only through the teachings of Kelios can becoming a Centaur be achieved. Once it is initially learned the elf can freely move between either of its forms. While in their normal form they retain all animal-senses, though their speed is not increased. When in full centaur form they gain a +2 to their speed.
• Nature's Guardian Centaurs are very attune to nature, and because of this they have a connection of sorts. They can freely communicate with animals and even wild ones will listen to them. As long as the creature is natural the Centaurs have the ability to temporarily tame them and request their aid in battle. They can also 'listen' to nature and receive information from it as well.
• Order of Kelios Centaurs have a powerful aura around them that affects other creatures aligned with them. Any sort of natural animal that fights with them has their power increased by 1 rank.
• Primal Instinct Just as any other animal, Centaurs have special sensory abilities. Their hearing, smelling, and sight are increased. Because of the increased sensory power they tend to make great Rangers and warriors. Similar to animals, they can also get a sense of when something wicked this way comes. They'll be wary of those who seek to harm them or what they protect though the exact reason why will not be known.
• Telepathy As the name implies, it is a simple form of telepathy between you and your dragon. Thoughts, images, emotions, sounds...pretty much anything can be felt in this link, and it is a constant link. If the dragon is hurt, the dragoon can sense it, and vice versa. This however, also prevents the two from lying to each other, as they can see what the other is truly thinking.
• Soft Landing A passive all dragoons must learn, as without learning this skill, when they performed their super high jumps they would simply splatter against the ground. Once this technique is learned the dragoon can survive falls from incredible distances, and come out unharmed.
• Masterful Dragon Riding The dragoon must spend a considerable amount of time riding on their dragon, and must know how to ride on them from every single part of the dragon without falling off. This takes a considerable amount of time to do, but once accomplished the dragoon will be able to accomplish incredible feats, such as holding onto a single dragon spine with one hand while your dragon is in an upside down position mid flight, whilst still being able to use your weapon proficiently.
"Your skills can do more than that Gilrean. Your job is to also assist in the location of survivors as you have better stealth techniques than most of those found here. I send these people back out into the forest, since they will be residing here.... we have to take care of shades, wounded nephilim, humans, more and more races that have long since never touched this area. Once in the woods after being healed up, they will be assisting us in rebuilding and recreating new areas." Exceed responded to Gilrean before he held his eye area, wincing in pain as the occasional bleeding pain tended to occur. Exceed had grown used to this as his bandages began to turn red again. But thanks to Gilrean's work from earlier, Exceed opened up the medicine bottle and took out a capsule to quickly consume. It helped ease the pain, even mellowing Exceed out to where he was back to his calm demeanor. "Sorry for how I was acting though..." Exceed told the ninja before the wingbeat of a dragon echoed the halls, something the new trainees still had to adjust as the rest were okay with it.
He looked over towards the 'reach' area's entrance, a room with a hole in the ceiling that was made by the living forest to help Vraelios come in and out as he pleased on his dragon. He couldn't see what happened, but in due time his ears had sharpened enough to notice the clopping sound of hooves, which confused him for a moment. But it wasn't the time for that as Exceed grabbed the arm and gave it to one of the adults who had outgrown their last prosthetic. It was only mere moments before Exceed saw one of his more powerful soldiers, the one who was always itching for a place to test his mettle while protecting the forest. Exceed noticed the tear and worn on Vraelios' armor as his long braid of hair and beard seemed to be tremendous since the last year. It made Exceed want to think of how he kept his hair and beard intact, but shook his head as the man seemed to be almost out of fighting spirit. Exceed frowned as he motioned for Gilrean to follow as he walked over to Vraelios and soon held his fist up to just below his chin, a small smile on his face. "Good work my friend, I know it's going to be tough still.... but we will make it through." Those very same words fell from the captain's mouth as they always did, it was all he could say to keep his men's fighting spirit and belief's up. But who was he trying to fool? His men who were growing very tired of this futile fight for existence.... or himself, the man who long since knew they would fall if they failed to get ANY form of outside help. Exceed held back his tears, keeping a strong face with that small smile before he soon moved his hand down. "I've been also going through the old king's files in the library while you were gone as you asked, but I've found little on revitalizing burnt forestry... even less on how to quickly purify cursed trees."

Gilraen nods. "Yeah, don't worry about it. You've got a lot going on. We all do." He follows Exceed over to Vraelios and listens to Exceed and Vraelios exchange a quick dialogue. "They'll be back...and I wouldn't be surprised if they had reinforcements. I still don't know if Zach let any of Yuran's troops survived. If he did, he might be able to get them to work for him in exchange for "freedom." Plus, if memory serves correctly, Yuran had a Shade holding a considerable rank in military affairs, but he vanished a while back. It would seem to be just our luck if he went and joined up with Nocturne, because then he might be able to appeal to his former compatriots." Gilraen sighs. "Let's see...we're up against Nocturne and possibly any Yuran troops they...recruit. We have the refuges from Yuran, what's left of our army, and the possibility of Aramil joining us. Let's hope that Akeem sees reason to come join forces with us, if just to make his eventual fight with Nocturne easier, as he'll have an ally."
Vraelios would have been flicking his tail back and forth had he been in that form. Instead he shifted his weight around almost methodically, a method of calming himself. It was no secret that morale was lower than it had ever been. King Korok had saw fit to take his own life and Kranila became apart of Fronta's East Empire. But the Dragon-Queen and The Beast Queen had done little to make changes or even protect their newest nation, especially when Fronta receded from the alliance at Emperor West's delcaration of open vangelism. It had fallen to the ones who lived on and loved the land. The elf-warrior had spent almost every day roaming the great forests, inspiring regrowth where he could and culling the areas where he could not. An unpleasan t memory passed through his mind and a grimace appeared on his face. The cursed trees Exceed had mentioned were a part of the more pressing concern. There was nothing to do but tear them up and burn away the plague before it spread. Balerion keened mournfully and Vraelios hung his head in a silent prayer to his own god Kelios, then to Justor and Solonor in turn. He knew he could not give up, nor would he ever. With a sigh the elf nodded his head in reluctant acceptance of Exceed's bad news.
Vraelios resigned himself to listening to what Gilraen had to say on the matter. He could not help but reach up and stroke his great beard, a pensive expression passing over his face. The lack of support from Aramil had been a cause for great debate, but Vrael thought he had an understanding as to why they had not received aid. Not only were they across the world from the Aramilian forces, but it was no secret that the East Empire was currently battling the Geshan, attempting to reconquer Val'ghast home to the monsters, and colonize the great desert. They had a lot on their plate as it was. "Do not be so quick to judge. I do not believe the King in the East sees our plight as anything less than a dire matter. It is merely not the only dire matter he is facing." It was unfortunate for them, but the reality of Axiom was that things rarely went well. Calamity was around every corner, this was just the latest.
At the mention of more battles to come Vraelios lifted his head and practically snorted, similar in manner to how a dragon would. After so long with Balerion it was no wonder he had begun to show habits the beast exhibited. "The God-King declared the execution of all those who do not fall under the banner of great-Kala. I do not think many survived. He will not relent, but we will not give in. Even if we have to fight until the very last breath leaves our very last soldier, we will fight." Vraelios was determined, if nothing else. The elf had no idea what it would take to fell a god, but he did not imagine that it would be a simple task. When news of Kaminae being killed spread across the realm Vraelios remembered feeling a certain awe and amazement. Perhaps if Akeem and Maria had done it once, they could do it again. If not, Axiom needed new heroes for this chapter.

Exceed nodded to Gilraen before he soon heard them talk to eachother for a bit. Gilraen was tempered in the right mindset, but this was nothing more than just a war... a battle of wits and strength. As Vraelios had a mental prayer to do for a moment, Exceed remembered one of his first ever wars, thanks to their king's intervention on his insomnia. But the feeling of surrealness still lingered and all Exceed can do now was use that feeling and try to come up with Guerrilla tactics to fight Nocturne. Soon Vraelios stated about the affairs of their allied forces' King as he nodded slowly before he turned to look towards Gilraen as he mentioned a shade in Yuran. "That shade.... speaking of which, didn't you once told me about how you fought off a rather difficult shade who came with demons?" Exceed asked of Vraelios as he was finishing up his responses. They had to fight, they had to win against this god-king and all of Nocturne, a god was killed before and a god can be killed again. Exceed smiled as Vraelios' own speech actually summoned up Moral in their exhausted leader. "Then we're going to show this God-King what it's like to stand under the banner of Mortal Existence."

Gilraen smirks. "Come now, Vraelios. What better way to kill people then to send them into death on the battlefield? I agree, there aren't any survivors. Though he probably realizes something that I do. It's poor strategy to waste potential soldiers. Don't be surprised to see at least some Yuran troops in Nocturne's army when he comes back." He listens to Exceed and Vraelios. "At the very least, let's give him a fight that he'll remember. It would help if we had someone with a certified god-kill to his name, though I'm not going to really count on Akeem showing up. Hopefully someone else will have earned the title of god-killer by the end of this." He glances at Exceed at this last statement.

Shinzo had been walking for hours, taking rests when he really needed to until he got to the palace of the city. He explained to the guards what happened and one of the escorted him to where most of the warriors were gathering. He made sure to put his other gauntlet on as to not arouse suspicion of his heritage. The elders of his community had not exactly stated he do anything for the moment so he thought he might aswell fight for his old home in Yuran. Not that was gone he had to help Kranilla as best as he could. "Hello there fellow warriors, I have come from the ruins of Yuran. The dark forces have not left much intact and I barely got some of the Yuran civilians out in time," Shinzo stated as he approuched the men. He wondered what they would think of him, a young looking man and most likely less experienced.
Vraelios, despite his primal appearance and keen ability to kill things, was not a violent creature. He had taken up the mantle as guardian of the forest only because Kelios, his god, had commanded it so. In truth the elf much preferred tending to the trees and beasts around him. Balerion even agreed with this lifestyle, though he was much more open to tearing apart a threat should it present itself. Vrael loved the days where he could wander all of Kranila, from the mountainous lands to the north all the way to the coast. Nights where he got to peacefully spend it with his wife and beat nights where he was stuck on the battlefield. "Must protect the land to have nights as such." The dragon's rough voice boomed through Vraelios' mind. It was a harsh reminder, though the elf did not resent him for it. Instead he welcomed the tough love, it bolstered him. Instead of responding he smiled faintly. Boot scuffs down the hall had Vraelios' keen ears perking up in response. He did not recognize the man approaching, and this set him on his guard. Slowly his legs spread and his grip on the helm under his arm switched to his hand. It wasn't until after the full introduction that he relaxed. Ever so slightly. Vraelios spoke, responding in elvish. "It is good to see that there are a survivors. Any brother in arm is welcome to fight to reclaim their home." There would be little time for introduction and friend making. A series of soldiers began running through the halls of the palace, shouting out orders and directions. Another attack had begun! Vrael looked skyward but did not need to say a word for Balerion to have responded already. A roar different from earlier sounded off as he dipped a wing and began a sharp decent. The elf ran to the hole in the roof and made a straight vertical jump, shoving his helm upon his head and reaching for the spear on his back. He stuck it out horizontally and caught himself on a banner, after which he used his forward momentum to swing himself skyward and straight out of the hole. Balerion was spinning over head and with the coordination only a dragoon and their dragon could have Vraelios reached out and caught a spike just in time. He pulled himself onto his dragon and in the next instant they were gone.
