Junimaia So I'm about to revamp the house colour aspect of the rules to make it more clear. Here's my thoughts on the subject...
House-elves: Indigo or Default Gryffindors: Shades of red or Gold Ravenclaws: shades of blue or shades of brown (I can't find bronze :O) Hufflepuffs: Orange or Bolded black Slytherin: Green or Silver Graduates: ....whatever they want? I figure they've pretty much earned the right to choose their font at this point?
Thoughts? Anyone?
Make it indigo or purple for House-elves. I think Slytherins should also be able to use shades of green, and so as not to conflict with Adonis' choice of colors Ravenclaws should use shades of blue only (there's so many choices).

I don't think Gryffindors should be allowed to post in gold, they would be mistaken for Hufflepuffs, because some Hufflepuffs do post in that color. C:

I think they have really good points.
If Gryffindors can use different shades of red, that gives them plenty of choices without using Gold (it will be confused with Puffies)
The same goes for Ravenclaws and Slytherins. Although no color can confuse with silver, it's pretty hard to read. We should use the colors most associated with that house: since Puffies are the ones who are pretty much limited (since yellow is so light) perhaps they should have the two choices you listed before. The others: shades of red (crimson, darkred, red, etc.) shades of blue (blue, dark blue, light blue, sky blue, etc.), shades of green: (emerald, green, lime green, etc.)
No house should use a color that can be confused with another house (ie bluegreen)

As far as I know Puffies have always been allowed to use orange or bolded back, it should stay that way. But other houses should know this, 'cause I've heard of people telling Puffies to post in their house color when they post in bolded black.

Yeahh, that always annoyed me, because the mods would say it's okay, and then the rest of the guild is all up in arms about the font and confusion would ensue. It's why I want these house colour rules clarified.

I also think there should be colors for teachers, so they don't have to post in their house colors, and so it's unique and distinctive from students while in their classroom. I know I mentioned this before in the staff room, and there were positive responses, but I don't think it got any farther than that.

Oooh yeah, I remember seeing you guys talking about that. But the mods and I were worried adding another colour would make things more confusing since alot of the teachers are students.

Okay, so after taking in everyone's thoughts. Here's the updated house font requirements:
House-elves: Indigo & Purple Gryffindors: Shades of red Ravenclaws: shades of blue Hufflepuffs: Orange & Bolded black Slytherin: shades of Green Graduates: ....whatever they want?
I miss anything?

I think violet is alright because its close to indigo/purple, but I think pink would be pushing it. Its not really that close to the Elves shade.

I think Juni's trying to eliminate the broadness of the colors (and I agree). We're not post nazis so if the color looks close to the official color then 99 times out of 100, no one will say anything. For instance using dark orange instead of orange is not a big deal. Violet is a lot closer to the pink than purple, so that would be an issue. (House-elves are able to post with default.)
For graduates any color except brown or another house's color because I think that can lead to confusion.
