[repair dock]

Alexandria looked up apprehensively at Sylvian's sudden appearance.

"Please keep him.." she faltered, wanting to say alive, "functioning. He can say one word though! It's just not a very useful one."

She looked at the captain for a moment before the clank began walking towards the hold ahead of them. Alexandria shrugged and followed.

[hold]

The clank stood in hold alone as the others caught up to it.

"You walk faster than one would guess!" Alexandria muttered from the doorway.

((Edit: oh my goodness! First time being the first one on a page! celebrations! >< ))

~ hold ~

Sylvian immediately begins directing clanks around.

"You! Connect to the Key and await further instructions. You and you! Fit this second-generation unit with an informational coupling. You! Prepare a spare chassis of first-gen quality."

The clanks immediately obey. The two assigned to retrofit the second-gen unit with an informational coupling begin working on the back of the head of Alexandria's metal friend.

[hold]

Alexandria watched apprehensively from the side of the hold. Sylvian looked like she knew what she was doing. Alexandria's stomach gave a groan and she blushed at the sound.
" I really should take food with me whenever I go out." she muttered to herself.

[In Transit to Galley]

Penelope split off from the group almost as soon as they reached the ship. She broke into a run when she reached the deck, for no more reason than she delighted in running, and rushed to her room. Once her new gloves and pay were stashed away safely--gloves in her suitcase and pay in a small compartment she found on the side of her bunk-- she was off again.

Ms Alexandria had mentioned her hunger before; Penelope was sure that she wasn't the only one. She slid into the kitchen on her heels. Very little had changed in the kitchen, in fact it didn't look like anything had. Full of energy, Penelope set about making the stew that Ms Alexandria had suggested.

{cog island docks}

green followed his memory to an old rundown looking hanger along the docks, the holes in the roof told him that it had been some time since he last cast his eye upon his last place to call his own. with a grinding of gears the large hanger door slowly opened forward like a drawbridge of old. with a deep sigh he walked over to a large tarp covered item in the middle of the room. holes had been eaten through it by moths and rusted metal jutted forth from them, with a great tug he tore back the tarp, the air stormed with dust and rust as he revealed his craft.

the body had a large hole missing at the cockpit, he flexed his cogged hand as a shiver ran down his spine. the forward two engines had multiple bullet wounds some allowing light to pass clear to the other side. of the three forward guns two survived the trial of time the other had completely been eaten away by rust. he walked over to a near by lock box and dialed in the code revealing a small odd contraption, time had held no sway over it as the smell of grease and blood still lingered in its inner workings. taking off his shirt he strapped it onto his back with a grunt and a gasp the gizmo came to life, gears turned and four spider like arms extended from the unit. he inserted his key into his shoulder and gave it a few turns before turning back to his craft. "no(now) its time to get to work"

(i apologize if its abit...wordy >_< just thought it needed the detail, btw ill post how its said though his accent the best i can with the correct word EX: cath(cat) )

((Don't worry about it. Wordy is good.))

~hold~

The two clanks step away from Alexandria's friend, who now sports a socket on the back of his head the same as the others.

She examines it a moment, then says to the clank, "Back yourself into one of the alcoves on the Key there."

She then turns to Alexandria. "The second generation design was made to be very quickly built. It emphasizes simplicity over durability. They were never intended to last long enough to interface with the Key, so they were designed without informational sockets or winding sockets. If you haven't been winding him then the other clanks must have been. But when it connects with the Key, the Key will know what it knows. And then as the clanks return for winding, they will know it too. It's an ingenious system, if I do say so myself. And since that clank there is already connected, you can simply ask it what your companion saw."

Alexandria studied Sylvian for a moment, then nodded and looked across to the Key.

"Excuse me, but could you tell us what..'my' clank saw when he was away from us?"

She glanced at the broken clank,
"Will he be able to speak now?"
PostPosted: Fri May 08, 2009 7:45 pm

~ hold ~

"He'll be able to speak after I put his information engine into a spare chassis."

Then she turns on Alexandria with an index finger raised. "But mark this now, I am only giving this thing a new body because you insist on keeping it running well beyond its intended expiration date and I simply don't want to be bothered with constantly maintaining it. And its brain is much simpler than a first generation design, so don't expect it to ever be able to learn much from the Key. Once I give it the new parts I wash my hands of the whole thing, as far as I'm concerned it's your responsibility."

[hold]

Alexandria's eyes widened at the woman's sternness in the matter and she nodded, mouth dry.
"He'll...help me with the maps, I suppose then. He shouldn't get into trouble there" She stuttered in an attempt to remain bright in the shadows of the vast ship's hold.

Alexandria pushed away from the wall and walked a few steps closer to watch the proceeding.

{cog island docks}

it took him the better part of the day to disassemble his craft, his added extremity's making short work of cutting through rusted steel. after a few hours he had removed the rear engines and the remaining main gun, he had managed to salvage the rear gun minus its barrel. suddenly while he was under it the craft shifted causing one of the jacks holding it aloft to buckle and fail. pushing off of one of the jacks near his feet, he dove and caught the lip of the craft. it groaned and lurched to a stop as his cogged arm propped it up off the floor. he cursed in a flurry of languages as he heard some of the springs in his fingers give out and break. he sighed as the kicked jack still held its place pining him to the ground.

as he sat and wondered if he would die of hunger or of being crushed to death. after about an hour had passed by he ran out of bolts to count, bullet holes, and structural flaws that should have blown him out of the sky long ago, he noticed a small golden pendent attached to a length of gold chain. it took him a moment to realize what it was and with a gasp he shot his other arm forward to reclaim his lost treasure. it hung just out of reach of his fingers. he thrusted for it again every nerve in his body wanting it. "Sarah!" he yelled as the jack gave way and caused the whole craft to jerk and roll, he snatched the locket just in time as the hulk of the craft rolled and crashed into one of the walls of the hanger, he laid there catching his breath as he looked over his treasure. with much ease he opened it like he had every day years ago but as he did tears filled his eyes. his cry of pain could be heard a good distance away as the sun slowly arched over the horizon setting the sky ablaze in color.

(( Hey Tok, you know what the clank saw so you decide what the wall-jockey says. And you'll have to excuse Sylvian, she has an occasional allergy to politeness. xd ))

(( *edit in response to below* We'll assume that is what happened then. The information is uploaded so technically we don't need your clank there anymore. ))

(sorry for being so spratic in my positng, finals are Khaos! Wuneye could tell the tale as he was teh one to post the original story idea, thats me by the way ^_^)

[repair dock]
As everyone went in side, Daniel and Wuneye moved the pusher plane into the hanger, wuneye doing most of the lifting and the captain giving directions. when they came to the open hanger doors of the Khaos, The captain nearly burst a seam as wuneye tossed the ship up into the hanger. the planed landed on its landing gear with a sharp squeak of hydrolics but was otherwise fine. "Sheesh, give some warning when you are about to throw a ship at someone...." He pulls out a flask of water and chugs on it a moment, "Well lets get aboard." He flew from the hanger floor to the hanger floor of the khaos(a hanger in a hanger!)

{docks}

the wheels of the wagon he towed behind him creaked from the weight of the equipment, he grunted as he the straps across his chest bit into his shoulder. he could see the khaos just a few docks away but to him it might have been miles, he dug his heels in as he began the pull again, his arm dangling life less at his side as he trudged on. as he reached the hanger door he undid the straps and pulled at the release string for his arm, as the gears unhinged his arm he picked it up and took his first steps in Khaos. as he looked around he eyed wuneye. "oi... do ya think ya can elp(help) me out I happen to ave(have) a little pro-blum(problem)" he pointed to the wagon with his arm.

{Repair hanger}
"You be needin that cart inside eh? Wuney can do that right quick." Careuful not to tip the cart over, Wuneye reaches under and lifts the entire thing off the ground and rolls it into the Khaos' hanger like it was a high shelf. "There, All settled in, and a lot less risky than trowing it in." Wuneye smiled and pointed to the gangplank leading to the Khaos' deck, "Ypou can use that entrance, if'n you like. Take them stairs down three times to get to the big room. As Wuneye cannot go that away, I'll just climb in."

Reaching up to the Khaos hanger rim, Wuneye hauls his frame up and into the craft. THe Khaos dips a bit at the added weight, but remanes otherwise stable.

Joining the group Wuneye sits on the deck, a more comfortable vantage point for the big man.

[khaos hanger/hold]
The Clank held out one arm, *Blang!* it said, opening its metal hand it revealed a metal stamp. The stamp dipicted a cog with a brain in the center of it. The words Steinken Franz Constructs circled the cog.

"looks to me to be me creators mark." Wuneye looked sad at being reminded of his old master, the one who abandoned him to the winds via balloon.
