Understandable. Personally, it feels a bit too claustrophobic to me. I mean, I could potentially get used to it... but I've always disliked that style of formatting options. I like my drop-down menus.
Improvement for the sake of stability I can get behind. Change for the sake of change is another ball of wax.
All that in mind... I like the new site layout. Up top it all looks good. (Aside from the lack of decent notification on new PMs.) It's the restructuring of the forums that's all crazy to me.
