Draconia St George "So...what are you two up to tonight?" "Hopefully celebrating with the Rorester over our Mad Science mid-term!"Glen popped the tab off of his third Red Ghoul and took a deep drink. "Rory and I have been planning what to do for weeks since, you know, the results will be presented to our moms when they come for the Parent-Creature Conferences."Draconia hexchanged a look with Hellene and then started to cut into her own lunch before she asked, "You seem very hexcited. Er, dare we ask if it's your usual ... explosive project?"Glen stabbed his fork into his Mystery Matloaf and it shrieked and jumped off the table. Glen stood up to try and see where it went as he answered his Drakie. "No. Rory thought we should go outside the box this time. So we put our noodles together and came up with a project that's daring and demands an answer! We... oh I'm sorry! How rude of me."He pointed at Draconia's iCoffin and perked up as he zapped his Mystery Meatloaf back onto his tray with his wand. "Good news?"

"Well....yes!" Draconia beamed at her beasties. "Mum and dad are in town! And it would be just simply grand if the two of you would come for dinner tonight. I'd love so much for you to meet them before Fangsgiving. It's actually going to be my family's first."
On the isle of Avalon, where Draconia came from, there was no Fangsgiving howliday. The closest thing she could come up with when describing it to her parents was Saint George's day. Unfortunately, this had been a bit of a misnomer, and now her parents wanted to know who the Fangsgiver was that the howliday was all about. Draconia was hoping her more Uhh-merican naturalized friends could help iron out the confusion.
"Mum is going to be cooking a little something and if I hurry home after Mad Science, I could whip up a pot of pepper pudding for afterward. Oh! Do say you'll make it!" Draconia implored.

He gave a fist bump back, trying not to move too much, otherwise the body soap would release it's flowery smell.
"Nada, man. Just taking stupid exams. How are yours going?"

Glen's eyes sparkled in wide-eyed wonder.
"Dinner with your folks!? Oh BOY!"'
Glen slapped his hands, palms down, against the table with each exclamation.
"Oh boy!Ohboyohboyohboy!"
Hellene grabbed her lunch before Glen's pounding on the table sent it toppling to the floor. She then grasped him by his sleeve and pulled him back down into his chair.
"Boo! We've had supper together with my mom LOTS of times but this is gonna be the first time I ever got to meet your `rents! Oh boy!"
And repeat the banging.
"Ohboy!Ohboy!Ohboy!Ohboy!"
He clapped his palms together and rubbed them briskly.
"This works out just perfect! Mom is working late and the chef was going to make ... kelpie stew. Oo! Drakie! Would your mom like for me to bring some for a side dish!?"

"Fangulous idea!" Draconia tapped her claws together excitedly. "How about you, Hellene? It would be ever so nice if you could make it as well."

Draconia St George "Fangulous idea!" Draconia tapped her claws together excitedly. "How about you, Hellene? It would be ever so nice if you could make it as well." Hellene paused in her hexting for a moment." Hmmm, I'll have to ask mother because we have a lot of my sisters and cousins and aunties flying in, but I think she'll be fine with it because she's so stressed from dealing with my sisters' meltdowns that she'll probably be happy to get rid of one of us for a night." As she spoke, Hellene's talons clicked rapidly over her phone." Ocypete is taking a cooking class with the Broodist monks who live on the next mountain over so that she can take her mind off having to rewrite her sub-lateral-these on the impact of Tro-chilly-dae Bomminaonneauable on the hieroglyphic styling of the ancient Yeti. She's got some great recipes I could use." Glen cocked his head to one side as he sorted out Hellene's words." What's a Tro-chilly-dae Bomminanimanin~" " Frost hummingbird!" she replied before he could further mangle the word, " they Flitter's extremely distant cousins. The can only survive in sub-zero temperatures and are often mistaken for extremely fast snowflakes. Ocy wants me to go see her for Hexmas so I can try and take pictures!" Hellene's phone buzzed in her hand." Oh! Mother says I can go," she said, smiling broadly.

Gryff did not bother to sit at a table since he was only breezing through the creepeteria. He'd arranged to have a fresh cryptuccino delivered to him every period by The Mad Brewer's latest intern, a diminutive gremlin ghoul so petite she made Lin look almost trenta. She was due to scurry through in ten minutes. Gryff jiggled his bag of hss-cotti in anticipation.
Mid-terms did not worry him. Firstly, because Gryff did not worry. Second, he was smart enough that most of them weren't a problem for him. Byff had only ever managed a 92% in Dead Languages, Gryff smugly had a 92.7%. And finally, Gryff did not need the approval of poorly-designed state-created testing standards which were culturally biased anyway.

Ronan had opted to spend most of his lunch hour in the library studying, but hunger drew him to the creepateria anyway. He found a seat near Felix and Dashner and propped up a science book so he could read while he ate. He looked stressed. Other monsters and their insistence on constantly enquiring how he felt he'd done in each exam that day were only adding to his anxiety.

Felix sighed and jabbed his sandwitch with a fork, "In between invisi-ghoul trying to dampen the party and Jewels hissing at me because I have two left hooves, I wouldn't say it was the best party I went to."

*GOOOOONG*
The lunch bell rang and drudgingly, dreadingly, the student bodies started getting up and preparing to file into their next class. So close to the finish line...the end was in sight!
Draconia paused on her way out to meet up with her Mad Science lab partner, Scarah Screams.
"Are you ready, Scarah?" She asked the Banshee ghoul. Mad Science was the final she had the most fangxiety over. Not only was there a written test, but a big project was due. Draconia and Scarah had been agonizing to complete theirs on time. It was only a small prototype, but the main idea had been to use the wind currents a flying monster, like a dragon, passed through in the air as an energy source. It looked sort of like a small fan that strapped onto Draconia's back, but it was actually a turbine that gathered energy rather than expended it. The only problem was that it tended to throw Draconia's balance off during the few times they'd tested it.
Scarah smiled bravely at Draconia and showed her two sets of crossed fingers. Her ESP-voice echoed in Draconia's head.
"Sure'n I've done everything I can to assure us a bit o' luck this afternoon. Crossed under every ladder, walked by every black cat an' even broke a mirror in my compact.....probably shouldn't have done that when Rory was nearby. But chin up, ghoul! I know we're going to get a passing grade!"
Draconia smiled back gratefully. Scarah's confidence rubbed off on her a bit and she felt less unsure as they headed off to class.

Ronan Aalto Ronan had opted to spend most of his lunch hour in the library studying, but hunger drew him to the creepateria anyway. He found a seat near Felix and Dashner and propped up a science book so he could read while he ate. He looked stressed. Other monsters and their insistence on constantly enquiring how he felt he'd done in each exam that day were only adding to his anxiety. "THERE you are!" Atomica stomped into the Creepateria just as lunch was finishing up and stood in front of Ronan, Felix and Dashner's table with her hands on her hips. "Look at you! Eating, at a time like this! Oh, I wish I could have YOUR cool confidence! But it is, like, TOTALLY illogical right now! We are two-point-three-six-two hours away from giving our Mad Science presentation! And you're just sitting here! Eating!"Atomica ran a sighing cycle through her audio transformer. She had to relax and not seem quite so demanding. After all....Ronan was secretly in love with her!
He didn't know that she knew, of course, but her positronic brain had figured it out well over a week ago. The way that he tried so hard to ignore her during class. The overarching, unending grumpiness. The way he'd 'accidentally' blasted chrome polish all over her a couple weeks ago during his deadtention punishment...it all added up. Try as he could to fight his feelings, Ronan Aalto was clearly head over heels in love with her, Atomica Servo.
Atomica lowered her audio level back down to an even 7. "I know this has been soooooo difficult for you, working through your feelings and trying to stay focused on our Alternate Energy Source project at the same time, but just imagine how heartbroke you'd be if I got anything less than a perfect grade! And I know our hydro-powered atomic engine is going to dazzle Mr. Hackington!"Atomica knew her kind words had soothed Ronan's tortured brow. Sooner or later she would have to let him down gently...he was simply not her type, what with his being made out of meat parts and all. But she knew that for now, bravely, she must soldier on under his intense affections, for to break his heart now would endanger both of their grades, and she owed him at least a chance to see her get an "A" before shattering his ability to love a ghoul forever.

"Good luck Hellene! You too Drakie!"
Glen waved atg both as the creepateriia slowly emptied out. Glen was uber anxious to see what sort of projects both ghouls had concocted for the project-half of their Mad Science mid-terms. It was lucky they were sharing the same Mad Science class this year!
But for now, he had his own project to focus on. All he had to do was locate...
"Rory!"
Glen zipped up on his skateboard face to face and nose to nose with his cousin!
"Didja bring!?"

Lin sat at his shared table with Gryff in Chop Class, his chin flat on the edge of the hard wood counter. No, not because he's short! Because he was just down, that's why! Normally working in any way with Gryff was the best high a gremlin could ask for, but that scene with the werecat twins just blew his mood.
Oh sure, Atomica's chastising them and her 'pep talk' made him feel a little better, but the heart wants what the heart wants!
"siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!"

"Sure did!" Rory's cousin zipping up to him like that caused Rory to reflect Glen's enthusiasm just as much as his grinning green face. The two of them had been working hard on their Alternate Energy Source project. It worked on both of their strengths, and despite some nervousness, Rory couldn't help but feel hexcited about the reveal."Now, you're sure this is going to go well, right?" Rory asked, opening up his locker to pull out his half of the project. "I mean, it's the last mid-term of the day. I REALLY don't want to mess this up!"
