"Gugugu...gaahahaaha....GWAAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAA!!!!" The laugh seems to spread across the entire room, echoing not only in ones ears, but their mind as well. The room begins to chill, and as the child dares look about she'll swiftly find herself encased in shadow. All the room is darkness, making the perfect stage for the grim words of a voice without noticeable form "Hellooooo" It speaks, voice a low sadistic purr "Welcome to the Battle Room. First time? No need to be scared....you ought to be terrified! GWAHAHAHAHAA!!!" The voice cackles, the source's psychotic glee clear as day "Now then, it's time for your first test. Bring your lil balloon forward so I can pop it!" The voice suddenly coughs "...battle it."
((Time to teach you how to battle. At the beginning of every battle each competitor shall post their Pokemon's stats. This includes everything from Nature to EXP.))
Skye looked around for the cackling voice, she thought that he must be putting up a show, but to Skye this wasn't a show. This was the start for the rest of life, she looked at Drifloon and nodded. Knowing they had a special way of communicating that would give them both strength to do their best.
"Show yourself! I am prepared to battle!" Skye said loudly in rang back in a echo. She looked all around herself, Skye's confidence was thriving and she almost started smirking but decided against it. This was not the time to be cocky, it was the time to be smarter than your opponent.
"Come on Drift..." She said quietly as she tried figuring out where the location of the manic voice came from.
In response to the girl's statement a Pokemon would step forth from the shadows. Only two feet in height, pink as a heart, and covered in a ridiculous number of colourful ribbons the creature could be non other then Snubbull. The appearance of the frilly beast would incite a girlish shriek from the voice, though it was clearly false. "If that's not truly terrifying, nothing is! GWAHAHAAH!!!" It cackled, again the room's temperature seeming to drop. "Now then, let's start the slaughter!!!" It announced "Speed is the key. First to strike has a better chance at being first to kill, and this time it's on your side! GWAHAHA!" The Snubbull of course would merely snuff at those words. She would certainly not be dying that easily!
[Alright time for your first lesson in combat.]
[Akumu Academy uses a Turn Based Combat system utilizing dice. Turn order is decided at the beginning of a battle based on the SPD stat. Whichever Pokemon has the highest SPD will attack first. When one Pokemon is attacking, the other defends. This means that while you attack, I am on the defense. On the next turn I will attack and you will defend.]
[For each turn we will roll 1D20. This is called an Accuracy Roll. Simply put it decides if the attack hits or misses. Whoever rolls highest wins out. Let mee give an example. Say you roll a 14, and I roll a 5. Your attack hits. Now instead let's say you rolled a 7 and I roll a 9. Your attack misses and I take no damage.]

Skye looked at the little Snubbull and shrugged, if this is what would get her to go and fight for gym leaders, and become the top trainer she would.
"Drift, use constrict against Snubbull!" She said extending her hand towards Snubbull.
Skye had a look of determination in her eyes as she stared at her foe, she knew she would succeed. But every battle was chancy, but Skye had faith her her Drifloon, and knew in her heart they would succeed!
"Not bad" The voice stated clearly. After which the Snubbul would race forward at her opponent with Fire Fang.
[Firstly. Use the Roll Dice function NOT the random number generator. I'll let it slide this time, but for future reference. Second sorry for the short post. Time constraints.]
[Now then allow me to explain Damage calculation in Akumu. Damage is dictated by the following formula.]
[I'll now use our rolls and stats to hopefully make that a little clearer.]
(20 - 8 ) + (7 - 7) = 12 DMG
Snubbull HP: 3
[When using an attack such as Ember or Watergun the formula will use SP-ATK/SP-DEF instead.]
[Now an important thing for you to note. When a Pokemon is hit by an attack, their HP doesn't stop dropping at 0. At 0 the Pokemon will faint, however if they take more damage then that their HP will drop into the negative. Should their HP drop below -7, the Pokemon will die. Once dead no number of revives, or trips to the Pokemon Center will save them. It is the END.]
[Additionally when you roll a 20 this is a critical. When you roll a critical you will gain +1 to your roll for the rest of the battle. If you roll a 1 you fumble. This adds -1 to your rolls. Whether it effects Attack or Defense depends on when you rolled it.]

Skye looked towards the Snubbull and gave an excited glance before continuing batting. Skye had to keep a strong front even though she knew her Drifloon could get burned.
[Please refer to my first post where I VERY CLEARLY stated that when one Pokemon attacks, the other Pokemon defends. It was your attack turn before, so the Snubbull was on defense. Now it is YOUR turn to defend. Allow me to make this very, VERY clear. You do NOT use ANY of your moves when defending!]

"Oh what's the matter little balloon? Can't take the heat! GWAHAAHAHA~!" The voice cackled from within the shadows "Maybe that gas can explode! GWAAHHAAHA!" The attack had missed the Driftloon entirely, but it seemed the instructor of this little battle was enjoying the idea of the Pokemon's potential combustion. Left in a far more realistic point of view the Snubbull would simply hurry away, putting some distance between herself and the ghost before crossing her arms over her chest.
[Lastly we'll move on to using items in battle. First and foremost you can't use TM's, Held Items, or most Key Items in the middle of battle. Common sense but I wanted that to be clear. Now then. You may only use an item in battling during your OWN attack turn. This means no using a potion when you're supposed to be defending. Secondly using an item also uses up your attack turn. This means you cannot use a potion/throw a Pokeball AND attack. One or the other.]
[When using something like a potion the effects are immediate and there's no need to roll for it.]
[Using a PokeBall on the other hand will require you to roll 1D20. This is known as a Capture Roll. To successfully capture a Pokemon you must roll above the Pokemon's Capture Rate.]
[For example say the Capture Rate of a Pokemon was 8+. This means you would need to roll an 8 or higher to successfully capture the Pokemon. Capture Rate will go down by lowering your opponent's HP; however keep in mind you cannot capture a Pokemon once it's HP has dropped to 0 or lower.]
[Failing at a capture will cause you to lose the PokeBall thrown.]

Skye watched as the little Snubbull turned around in a teenage girl way and cross her arms, Skye was very positive about this match, only because she had her trusty Pokémon at her side.
"Alright Drift, let's make a mark. Use Constrict again!"

Once more the Driftloon's thin spread like arms would grasp the body of the Snubbull, tightening around her throat as it slowly dragged her upward. Driftloon were renowned for snatching children, but no one ever claimed those children where still alive for very long!
Struggling as much as her position would allow the pink canine managed to pull free, releasing a rather loud, unlady like bark as she hit the ground. Flame and cinder danced across her maw as she opened her jaws wide. Such treatment would not stand! So it was that the Snubbull would race forward, lunging at the Driftloon with the intent of taking an eye for an eye with Fire Fang!

The Snubbull's maw would snap shut just a few scant inches away from the position of the Driftloon, flames licking the air near the ghost's face. Had the little dog had her way she would have ripped it's rubbery face off...literally. Though that brought the question, what did a Driftloon really look like beneath it's balloonish exterior? Was it just gas, or was it something more?
Thoughts for later perhaps. Snorting slightly the pink bulldog dashed back, settling into a sturdy four legged crouch and growling at her opponent. She was daring him to come at her.

IT was with that final attack that the Snubbul would fall, the breath leaving her lugs as the Driftloon finally managed to strangle her into unconsciousness. She wasn't dead, but she wouldn't be getting up for awhile either. It would seem Skye was the victor here, and with this the voice would return.
"Not bad" Was all it would state to begin "Well then child. Allow me to officially welcome you to AKUMU ACADEMY!" It announced, light suddenly returning to the world "Try not to die. GWAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!"

Tyson walked into the room, looking around. His pokeball on his belt and a determined look on his face. "Anyone here?" He said outloud as he looked around the blood stained room. Tyson knew this wasnt going to be easy, but he knew he could overcome it.
