Aeria lowered her head, her ears flattening sheepishly. She felt like such a terrible mother for bringing her baby into the world without sight.
We didn't do anything... I didn't do anything to cause this. We didn't do anything wrong. She repeated Gizmo's words to comfort herself, then buried her face in the thick fur on his neck as he did the same to her.
We'll all be okay, Gizmo. We're a family, we'll stick together no matter what. She licked his muzzle in an affectionate gesture, full of love and admiration for her brave and wise mate.

Gizmo exhaled, his nose pressed firmly against Aeria's neck as he sought comfort and found it. He could never feel too bad when she was around and her repitition of those words helped ease his pain.
He moved away a while later to gaze into her eyes, those kind eyes full of worry and sadness, licking her nose affectionately. Kaya use nose 'stead of eyes. He murmered softly, nuzzling up to Aeria once more.
He then turned to gaze at the other puppies, a fond smile curving his maw as he watched two of them at play. They were growing so fast!Rem gave another yip, spinning around and falling on the ground with a small thud before picking himself up once more. Then he tried nipping at his adversary's ears, yipping in his squeaky voice as he dashed about, rolling head over heels and coming to a stand still next to Rand.
Ears drew forwards to regard the white brother and he gave a small bark. Why didn't Rand join in?

Snitch's ears swivelled again, his small bark directed towards Rand also. Maybe if he beat both his brothers, he could show how tough he was! He held his small head high, avoiding Remiel, but skidding along the ground roughly. He pulled himself up, whining at the grazes on his paws, and attempting to pounce his brother again, but except he pounced in pretty much the wrong direction and landed on his stomach with yet another yelp. Why couldnt he get this right? He was doing fine at first!

Rand blinked and flicked his large ears forward again, squinting gold eyes at Remiel. This brother at least was quiet, he thought as he darted his eyes towards the boisterous Snitch. Let me try what they do... The white marked pup batted experimently at Remiel, oversized paw batting against his shoulder. Hey! This was more fun! He let out an excited yip, sat down on those wobbly legs and sneezed.
Liquid eyes looked up beseechingly at the two huge wolves above him. Why couldn't he do anything right?

This was more than fun! This was great! Remiel's large ears pinned back as he crouched low on the ground, tail waving from side to side in the air as he regarded Rand with his gold flecked eyes. Rand play too! Plaaaay!
The pressure of a paw on his shoulder caused him to yip and in order to try and evade it he jumped sideways, paws slipping out from beneath him and seeing him rolling across the den floor.
At Rand's sneeze he looked up in surprise at the sound, ears twitching and nose sniffling noisily.
His head tilted to the side. No more play?

Aeria smiled thoughtfully. Kaya's nose would help her along, and her ears. And she did have five other wolves that could assist when she needed it.
She followed Gizmo's gaze to the other pups, who were engaged in some sort of game. Rand seemed to be having a little bit of difficulty though. She nudged the pup gently, encouraging him to get up and try playing again.

Rand looked up startled at his mother for the nudge and experimentally got to his feet once more, padding toward Remiel. Come to think of it, that wagging little tail did look ever so much fun to pounce... A quiet grin crossed his face at his own daring.With a sudden clumsy pounce he bit down softly on his brother Remiel's tail. He still would play! And where was the other one, anyway?

He saw his brother pounce and wagged his tail faster, trying to turn as he watched Rand move past to set his jaws on his tail. He gave a small squeak of surprise. Was that in the rules? He turned to briefly gaze at his parents but didn't wait for any sort of sign.
In the rules or not it was still play in his books!
He gave a few short yips and tried to wiggle himself free, rolling sideways to lie on his back and batting upwards at Rand's muzzle with soft forepaws.
Aeria... He began, licking at one of her ears to get her attention. 'Bout what happened day we got here...fights, arguments...yellings. His ears drooped a little as he realised how badly he had acted that day. You 'member the brown wolf Gaara from when we just pups...? He wasn't sure whether she did or not.
On journey here all that time ago...he kill my brother. I no like my brother but I no want him to die...now he gone. He sighed, now that same wolf came back...he threaten Kam-Kam...'ttack Kam-Kam. I no stand for that...but worst part is...Brother Haku stand up for bad wolf. He trembled a little, voice low despite the fact the puppies wouldn't understand. I scared Aeria...scared Gaara come back and try and kill puppies like he threatened... His eyes were glazed now, Haku like Gaara, he might not stop him...but he seemed to dissapear anyways. He drew in a shaky breath, When puppies older Gizmo think we should go to den on outskirts of packland. It by the river and meadow. Found it long time ago when was pup and it looks safe enough. No one knows we be there...you think good idea?

She turned back to Gizmo, her ears perked towards his voice. Gaara... I think I remember him.
Aeria listened in silent horror to Gizmo's story. When he had finished she sighed and licked his face. It will be okay Gizmo. We'll leave as soon as we can, when the pups are old enough.

Rand managed a brief cheerful yip, not listening or understanding his parents words above him as he tussled with his brother. Suddenly however he took fright at nothing, and reared backwards, golden eyes wide, before fleeing to hide behind his mother's foreleg. Peeking out at Remiel Rand suddenly wondered what he'd been scared of...
Of course, it was nothing, and the poor pup just frightened easily.

One moment his brother was there and next he wasn't! Remiel tilted his head and gazed at Rand who seemed to be afraid of something. Was there something he didn't know about? He exhaled noisily and gazed at his parents curiously. He didn't understnd what they were saying but they didn't look too concerned.
With a small yip and a snuffle of his nose he yawned and trotted slowly up to lay beside his mother.Gizmo was thankful that Aeria understood and nuzzled her before being alerted to Rand who ran to hide behind Aeria's leg. His ears swivveled forwards as he gazed about. The poor pup had been spooked. He smiled warmly and gazed as Remiel moved forward to join them.
They had such a wonderful family!
He was the luckiest wolf alive!

Aeria licked the top of Remiel's head as he lay down next to her. The puppies were getting so big, and watching them play was quickly becoming one of her favorite activities.
She looked back to Gizmo and grinned at him.

The small marbled pup had busied himself snoozing in the corner. His ears perked up occasionally, drawn to the squeaking of his two siblings. Unable to sleep through the noise, he picked himself up unsteadily and padded towards Rand, tail wagging happily as he clamped down on his brothers ear with his teeth.
Haha, now it was revenge! He wouldnt do anything to hurt his siblings though, so he made sure he was biting down only gently.

Rand blinked. And then yipped miserably as he found his ear caught in an unbreakable grasp! He rolled over onto his belly, head twisting with the ear, overlarge paws batting at his brother's chin. Letgoletgoletgo!!
He managed to wriggle free eventually, as the bite was not hard; but oh, he was so going to get his brother! He reared up on his back paws, bringing them down in a pounce but missing the marbled pup. Missed!

He saw his brothers attempted blow and attempted to run. Snitch yelped slightly, his dual coloured eyes swivelling slightly to view Rand as he shot off in a marbled blur. Unluckily for him, he was clumsy and found himself falling to the ground, spinning slighty on the rock and merely grazing his paws. Looking up to Rand again, he tried to pounce the pup, but it would probably be revealed as unsucessful, he wasnt the best wth co-ordination.
