Marina smiled softly as she watched her kits playing with each other, delighting in their childish laughter. She rested her head against Caspian, sighing softly. "They're adorable, aren't they?"

Nami dashed about the perimeter of the islands on her own, keeping a constant look-out of their surroundings. Being that they lived on islands, there wasn't exactly much of a threat of intrusion. Still, Nami performed her job diligently in sheer gratitude of being accepted into the tribe.
As she looked around, she couldn't help but notice some crabs hiding under the sand in front of her. I suppose a quick snack break couldn't hurt, she mused to herself, digging into the sand furiously with her front paws. It wasn't very long before she had fished out one of the pesky critters. Eating it fairly quickly, she moved on to continue her surveillance.

Nereida walked around the south-eastern most island. She hadn't been here before, it's pretty far from the other islands, so she had to wait until low-tide to cross, and now she's stuck there until it's low-tide again. She decided to use this time to explore the island.
There were a lot of beautiful, tropical birds on this island, she noted, as she walked through the forest. She also stopped a few times to examine some of the many tropical plants. She found more than a few plants with healing properties, and duely noted their existence for future reference.

While Nami had thought herself to be alone on this particular island, she soon sensed the presence of another modifox. Upon closer inspection with her Byakugan, she discovered it to be Nereida. Hmm, I wonder what's she's doing here, she thought curiously to herself, tilting her head. I've never seen her come to this island before. Since her surveillance was pretty much complete for now anyway, she bounded off in the direction of the other female, hoping to do a little surprise attack once she got close enough. Hmm, does she have to be so far away though? Oh well, I run fast.

Nereida's head turned in the direction of a familiar scent. She decided to wait until Nami arrived. 'I didn't know anyone else was on this island,' she thought as she waited.

Aw... She noticed me, Nami thought to herself in mild disappointment, slowing down. "Hello, Nereida!" Nami greeted cheerfully once she pushed through the brush. "What'cha doing all the way out here?"

"Hi Nami," Nereida said as the other fox arrived. "I'm just looking around since I have never been to this island before. It's a good thing, too. I had never noticed how tropical our islands were until now." Her attention turned as a tropical bird flew past. Then she turned back to Nami. "So, what are you doing here?"

"Scouting!" Nami replied happily with the slightest bit of pride. She loved her job and wouldn't trade it for any other. "I learned from you guys after all. ^^ So, when do you plan on returning to the main islands?" As much as she loved to explore she also enjoyed hanging out around the others. Even if she had to tone it done a few notches.

"Whenever I finish looking around the island, I guess," she replied. Nereida turned back towards the main land for a bit. "And whenever low tide comes back around," she added with a laugh. "I love swimming and all, but even I know I wouldn't be able to make it at high tide."

"Really?" Nami replied in mild surprise. "I didn't think there was that great of a difference. Just a few yards on either side," she mused aloud. "But I suppose that can add up..." she shrugged off this train of thought and returned her attention back to the other scout. "So, how much of this island have you managed to cover thus far?"

((Huuggge skip! Gone are the days of trying to make tribe members happy; the Bateau Tribe is much more relaxed and free-spirited now. Foxes can still be mellow or unhappy if you want, but happiness is finally here. biggrin
Let's bring this tribe back to life guys! Please look over the front page, you'll notice some big difference and a lot more pretty things.))
Ianthe stood at the edge of the cliffs, looking down into the clear water below her. A small smile graced her face, and without warning the Elder leaped from the huge height, plummeting down into the warm waters below.
The blue Elder didn't think this would ever stop being exhilirating. She loved the descent, and she loved the water. The Islands felt more like home than they ever had, and the tribe was coming to a level of peace it had never known.
Swimming easily with the waves, Ianthe walked back up onto the main beach, shaking herself dry. The others were around, she knew, but they could do as they pleased until the tribe meeting to discuss the foxes that were gone.
Caspian napped lazily on the warm rock at the fishing canal, Nadia laying across his back as she slept too. Having the children had made the cynical fox relax more, and even he could feel the happiness his mate always seemed too.
For now, though, those thoughts were gone. Right now was for sleeping.
Merlin swam at a relaxed pace through the river, with hte current running easily today. He had nothing to do at the moment and the weather was warm, so it had seemed like a good idea to just take a swim before he went back to the sleeping grounds at sunset for the tribe meeting.
He wondered who had officially gone 'missing'. He'd seen most of the members, but some of them seemed gone fo good. Ianthe would tell them.
((Sorry this is an awful post, I've been redoing things for hours and I'm braindead. XD))

((YEeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Eva! <33333333333333333~))
Marina padded slowly up to her mate and daughter, smiling broadly; her fur was wet from swimming for most of the morning. She loved to see the fish beneath the surface, and she had lost track of time a bit.
But that didn't matter -- the tribe was happy, Ianthe was happy, and Caspian was even done being a sourfox, but most of all: their children were happy.
"Good morning sleepyheads," Marina said happily, plopping down so she was nose to nose with her mate. She licked him quickly, then grinned as he opened his eyes blearily. "Wakeywakey. Where's Levi?"
"DAD!" Nausika shouted, picking up speed in her already-fast run. "Hi, Dad!" She pounced on her father and sister before Marina could even open her mouth to warn them. "You too, sis!" She pawed at Nadia, then returned her attention to Mortimer. "Why're you sleeping? It's so much fun! C'mon!"
Of all the children, Nausika had probably gotten the most of her mother: she was just as ebullient as Marina had been in her youth.
In her excitement of seeing her family again, Sika had forgotten that she, too, was soaking wet. Ahh, the good life.
Aidan had followed his Elder a few moments later, and he joined her by her side, grinning widely.
"That's so incredible, Ianthe," Aidan breathed, his chest still heaving up and down to regulate his breathing. "We should do that every single day ever. Wow." He was so much happier now that the tribe was in good shape, and he could tell that Ianthe was too.

Caspian knew his children well by this point, so he was fully prepared for Sika's coming onslaught. Without warning hegot out from under Nadia and pounced his daughter, sending them both flying into the warm water.
"That's what you get for waking me up with your wet self," he said with a playful smirk before climbing back onto the rock and shaking himself off on the rest of the family that was there. "Morning."
He looked down at Nadia, but she had barely even twitched in all the commotion. Chuckling, he sat down next to Marina. "We appparently bred a rock."
ianthe laughed quietly at the younger member's exuberance. "Perhaps not every day, Aidan," she chuckled. "Your heart might give out on you."
The teal Elder looked around, thinking. "Aidan, go round up the others. We need to have a meeting by the ship tonight."

Nerissa was lying on a large boulder just off the shore of the island. She idly watched as the small speck that was Ianthe fell from a cliff straight into the clear, beautiful ocean. She wasn't worried, knowing that the Elder was only cliff diving. Soon afterwards, a son of Marina and Caspian's followed suit. The sight brought a smile to Nerissa's face. They seemed to be having quite a bit of fun. Of course, that didn't mean the vixen wanted to try it herself.
Nerissa watched as Ianthe returned to the shore, and she thought it was time she did the same. She pushed off the rock and paddled toward the shore. She mostly allowed the waves to push her toward the shore, rather than propelling herself. She finally reached the shore and headed toward Ianthe and the others. She wondered idly where Nereida had wandered off to; probably with Merlin somewhere.
Nereida smiled, watching contentedly as Merlin swam around in the river in front of her. She lay on a treebranch that extended over the water. Knowing the river was deep for safe diving, Nereida suddenly jumped off the branch and plummeted toward the river. With a shout of excitement, she dove into the river, turning her face upwards just before she hit the floor. Her head resurfaced and she glanced around for Merlin. "That was fun," she informed him with a smile. "You should try it sometime."

"Sure," Aidan replied quickly, nodding his head briefly. He turned...and crashed straight into Nerissa, landing them both in a tangled heap. "Errr...er..."
Righting himself quickly, he shook himself, sending water droplets spraying out in every direction. "Sorry," he mumbled to the vixen, offering a sheepish winning smile.
"Why don't...er, you guys catch up?" With that, Aidan slipped away, wholly and completely embarrassed. Why did he always mess up? And why was it always either in front of a vixen or Ianthe or his father? It just wasn't fair.
Sighing to himself and shaking his head, he stumbled upon the rest of the family. He went to his twin, Nadia, first, giving her an affectionate n** to the top of the ear. "C'mon, wakeywakey. I have fish," He knew the promise of food would get her up, even if he didn't actually have any.
Then, to the rest of the family, Aidan said, "Ianthe wants to hold a Tribe meeting, she's down on the beach where we go cliffdiving. Have any of you seen anybody el--ah, there's two other scents. See you guys in a bit!"
Without giving his mother a chance to respond, Aidan bounced off, following the scent of his Tribemates. One male, one female, he could tell that. Hmm...who could it be? His nose wasn't the best in the world afterall.
Soon, he came to a river and spotted, in fact, a male and a female fox, both bearing the Bateau tattoo. Without any further ado, he bounced towards the river's edge and said loudly enough for them to hear him, "Hey, guys, Ianthe wants a Tribemeeting, she told me to come get everybody. D'you know where anyone else could be?"
"Big brother needs to loosen up," Nausika commented as she stretched her unused muscles. She then continued, in an overdone stuffy 'male' voice that was obviously intended to be impersonating Aidan, "'Scuse me, Mr. Important coming through with messages from the Elder. I have no time for silly games, little girl."
Sika chuffed and shook her head, then looked to her parents. "You ever gonna let me go cliffdiving with Ianthe? It looks like so much fun." Just because her parents hadn't given her permission didn't mean she hadn't done it anyways...But they didn't know that.
"C'mon!" Sika said after a moment of silence, offering a happy grin. "Let's go~!" She turned away then and started merrily trotting towards the beach, a smile lighting her young face.
Marina blinked as her oldest then her second-youngest ran off in opposite directions, then shook her head and muttered, "Don't wait up,"
Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Marina looked down at her mate and smiled some, nuzzling him gently. "Le's go if we're going. Is Leviathan still...?" Marina looked pained, then, for her youngest child hadn't been seen in far too long. It was her greatest fear that the storm had--
Cutting off that thought before she could be reduced to tears (again) and this time in front of her children, Marina shook her head sharply and offered another weak smile.
"See if Nadia plans on joining us," With that, Marina walked away, swallowing thickly. She needed to be positive, for her family and her Tribe. She had to.
