Ptooey!
A hand made its way across a brown striped, tan face. Looking up, Rexier Gaver grinned goofily into the mirror, his mouth almost numb from the minty coldness of toothpaste and water. The boy then switched toothbrushes and turned around, then proceeded to brush his twin brother's teeth rather skillfully. Once done, Rex threw the toothbrushes into their appropriate places and shot out of the bathroom.
"Morning Mum!" the boy yelled, literally(and purposely) thundering into the kitchen where he proceeded to squeeze the breath out of his mother in a deathhug in childish enthusiasm. Laughing as his hair was ruffled, the boy squirmed aside and proceeded to the oven, where a large slab of beef was thawing. Rex took it out, and fed it to the eagerly awaiting King.
How's it? Rex asked, chuckling as King tore through the meat.
Still a little cold on the inside, but it's good otherwise.
King paused, licking his lips, then wolfed down what remained floating before him.
"Mum, it's still..."
"Not thoroughly thawed?" Silencer turned to look at her son, though her hands continued working on breakfast. "It's been thawing for ages in that oven. Looks like I'll need to order smaller chunks after all next time," she continued, shaking her head and returning her attention to the job at hand.
Rex nodded, though King did seem a little disappointed. Big chunks were fun, they're lovely to tear up...
Looking around him, Rex called for Zarrol and Kineath before his eyes travelled to the door and caught sight of something. Slipping over to the door, Rex picked up the something(a card, it seemed) and exclaimed with delighted surprise upon seeing who it was from.
"From Kunjiro?" Rex blinked, and flipped it open.Card from Kunjiro Heya Rex and King! How are both of you and your family? I'm doing great here and I'm sending you this to inform you that the Science class I mentioned the other day will begin soon. Hope to see you in my room and my mother was happy when I told her that you would me for the class. The class will begin at 10.00 a.m. and ends at 11.30 a.m. but you have to reach my room before 9.55 a.m and you will need to bring some writing materials (Forgot to get you some when I was buying them, sorry!). I have papers so you don't need to bring them. That's all for now, hope to see you soon. -Kunjiro Grinning, Rex made his way back to the kitchen while waving the card in his hand. "Kunjiro says Science class is today," the boy announced, and glanced briefly at the clock.
8.18 am. Plenty of time.

-- :: Science Class with Kunjiro :: -- Location: Kunjiro's Room Participants: Rexier Gaver & King, Atsutoshi Kunjiro & Xiao Ling---------- :: ~ :: ---------- ---------- :: ~ :: ---------- T'was a quarter to 10.
Rexier Gaver stood nervously before the door with a card in hand, peering down at it. Th boy shifted restlessly, and fidgetted with one edge of said card. Holding it up, he read it again. The card Heya Rex and King! -Kunjiro What are you so nervous about? Came a voice in Rex's head, causing the boy to jump slightly. You never were this flighty before - this is very unlike you.
I don't know, King. Rex sighed, fiddling with his card and backpack. The boy was truly puzzled. It wasn't like him to get all frightened and worried, not even about class. I guess... this is my first class with a stranger teaching- not that Kunjiro's a stranger, but his mother, ... I don't really know her well, and from what he said about her not liking magic...
Rex let out another sigh. That could be it. Oh well. He was there now, and with thoughtful comforting by King, Rex gathered his courage and knocked on the door.
----- "Please place these on the table for me," called Xiao Ling to Kunjiro as she was busy arranging the tables and chairs for her students in the living room. She had been busy preparing for the last few hours, and if Kunjiro was not there to help her she would have fainted from exhaustion and would have postpone the class(which was not a good thing, especially with Kunjiro's friend as her student). The arrangement of the tables and chairs were soon done, and Xiao Ling reached out to the rectangle-shaped table and grabbed a tissue to wipe her sweat. "Phew!"
"Okay," replied the excited boy, grabbing the apparatus from his guardian. The boy then placed them on the table beside the tissue box and looked at the clock hanging on the wall. "9.40 a.m. Wow, that was really long. We started preparing at 7 a.m. and now it's almost time. Rex will be here anytime soon," said Kunjiro.
The doorbell rang when Kunjiro had just finished talking. Without much thinking the boy rushed to the door and opened it. To his surprise, the visitor was not Rex, but someone else delivery the groceries Xiao Ling had ordered earlier. "Hello," said the visitor. "Is your mother in? She ordered something earlier."
"Yes, my mother's in. I'll call her," replied Kunjiro coldly. "Mom! The groceries are here," the boy called, before storming off and sat on one of the chairs arranged for the class and sulked.
Xiao Ling laughed as she closed the door after the man left. "You thought it was Rex, right?" she asked, laughing a little. It was quite funny and surprising to see Kunjiro sulking for the first time in his life. "And... knock knock!" There were knocks on the door which interrupted Xiao Ling, who was talking to the sulking boy. "I guess your friend has arrived," she said, heading towards the door. She then opened the door and smiled at the visitor. "Hello," greeted Xiao Ling. "Do come in and take your seat over there," she said, pointing to the set of table and chair beside Kunjiro. "And I think Kunjiro's in shock, so best leave him alone until he feels better."
----- "Good morning," Rex smiled, bowing slightly. The boy went slightly tense at the fact that he did not know her name, but collected himself just in time to utter "miss".
"I hope I'm not late or something."
Still smiling, Rex nodded to Xiao Ling and made his way towards the tables and chairs, pausing hesitantly as he sized up the chairs. They weren't small for him but they did seem rather... fragile. For him, that is. Rex wondered if the wooden chairs could support his and King's weight, before finally pulling on slightly aside and placing his bag on it. The boy opened and reached into the backpack, and retrieved from it a bamboo dimsum container, still rather warm.
"Here's a little something from me and my mum," Rex said, offering it to Kunjiro's guardian. "Mother just made it, so it's still warm."
Meanwhile, King peered at Kunjiro curiously. Puzzled at the mushroom boy's behaviour just then, the tyrannosaur let out a low rumble, then barked softly out to him.
----- Xiao Ling smiled at the boy. "No, you're not late," she replied as she closed the door behind her. "Then we can start the class soon, after you're ready. Please take out a piece of paper and a pencil," instructed the guardian.
"And thank you, Rex," thanked the guardian as she took the container from him. "Please say thank you to your mother for me. This is for you and your family," she continued, handing Rex a wrapped box.
Kunjiro was still sulking when his friend entered the house, but he felt better when the tyrannosaur barked softly to him. "Hello," greeted the mushroom kid. Kunjiro then took out what his guardian instructed from the drawer and place them on the table. "The papers I promised are in your drawer, Rex."
----- "I will," Rex nodded, then received the box from Xiao Ling with a smile. "Thank you," the boy said, and placed it carefully in his bag.
Rex then went over to his table and took his seat, placing his bag gently on the floor in order not to shake the gift up too much. Reaching down into the black backpack, the boy drew out his writing material.
"Thank you," the boy whispered as Kunjiro settled down beside him. Grinning, he reached for the papers provided by his friend.
King panted at Kunjiro's greeting, jaws slackened and looking his he was laughing, which in fact he was. The tyrannosaur churred and wagged his tail, preparing himself for a nap. It was the most sensible thing to do during another of these lessons, as King learned, and he would do just that now, unless someone has plans for him.
----- "We'll start the class now, since everyone's ready. We'll end it early if we start the class early."
"Seeing that this is our first class, we'll start with the basics first so today's topic is 'Introduction to Science'," said Xiao Ling to her students. "I'm sorry if you have already learned that Rex, maybe you can take it as a revision? This is Kunjiro's first class, so I have to teach him the basics," the guardian explained.
"Science is the knowledge of everyday life, I repeat, Science is the knowlege of everyday life. Please write that on the blank paper. Science also helps us to understand ourselves and many other things better. For example, how does our digestive system work? Why do coconuts fall downwards and not upwards?"
Kunjiro took his pencil and wrote the important notes as he listened to his guardian. There were some spelling errors for words that are complex to him, and the paper he used was very untidy and dirty with scribbles.
"Kunjiro, you only have to write 'Science is the knowledge of everyday life'. The others are just explanation to make you understand the statement better," said Xiao Ling, pointing her finger to the first line of her book.
The boy nodded and erased everything on the paper before copying the sentence on the book Xiao Ling was showing. "Gah!" he thought.
Xiao Ling waited for Kunjiro to finished copying before turning to her other student. "Did you managed to write that too? Remember, it's only 'Science is the knowledge of everyday life', just like what I told Kunjiro earlier," she said.
----- Rex nodded at Xiao Ling's explanation, and scribbled down the phrase on his paper.
----- After writing the notes slowly and neatly again, Kunjiro closed the book and called to Xiao Ling as he raised his hand with the book on the northwest direction of his table.
Xiao Ling saw the boy's reaction and went to his table to get her book back. "Thank you, Kunjiro. We will continue the lesson now," she asked, heading towards the larger(and messy) table. The guardian then opened the book and continued with the teaching. "Without Science, the world would not be as developed as what we see and own now. Now, can any one of you here tell me what are the things that Science has contributed?"
Kunjiro raised his hand excitedly as he was eager to answer the question. "I know, Science has taught people how to make aeroplanes and cars!" he answered.
"That's right, but that will be under 'transports'. Other things like medicines, telephones, electrical appliances as well as the food we eat are all contributed by Science. Now I'll give both of you a book each and you can take your time to read the information about the things you learned today. Also, please bring this book every week so that you don't have to write notes again," said Xiao Ling as she placed the books on the tables in front of her. "Now, any questions before we move on?"
The boy grabbed the book and turned it back and front to investigate the cover. He then flipped the pages but stopped when the kid found some interesting photos. Without removing his eyes from them the kid said 'no' to Xiao Ling's question.
----- Rex, as always in class, had been listening attentively and jotting down whatever facts he deemed important, even if they were in fact not. Accepting the book handed to him with a grateful 'thanks', the boy flipped through it, skimming the pages for... stuff.
At Xiao Ling's question, Rex looked up and raised a hand. Keeping in mind not to mention magic in any way possible, the boy queried, "I heard somewhere that science can't explain everything, even though covers a lot of things. Is this true?"
----- The guardian saw the hand and smiled after Rex's inquiry."Good question. Yes, there are things that science cannot explain but some are awaiting to be discovered. For example, animals that are not discovered by the scientists. You can't say that these animals can't be explained by science, it's just that little is known about them. No one knows the name of the animal as well as their habitat and so on.
Kunjiro listened in interest as Xiao Ling explained to his friend about the question he asked earlier. Curious to learn more, the mushroom kid raised his hand and asked. "Then what are the things that science cannot explain?"
"Time is one of things that science cannot explain. I'm sure both of you have already watched cartoons and read books about people using time machine to turn back the time. These things are not real because science cannot explain how the thing works and the positive as well as the negative effects f the time machine. Another thing that science cannot explain is magic. But I'm not a magician or something related to magic, so I'm not going to explain anything about magic.
Now we'll move on to the next topic for the day. For physical quantities, it'll be faster if you read those yourself. Feel free to ask me if you are not clear with them. Please open your book and turn to page 9.
The next topic is 'Density'. Density is the relative heaviness of objects, measured in units of mass or weight per units of volume. Objects with higher density that water or 1g/cubic cm will sink while objects lighter than water will float. Before the time is up, let's do two small experiments on density. I'd like both of you to join your tables together so that there will more space for you to do them. Also keep whatever is on your table into the drawer please.
Both of you will receive two beakers each, a cork, a stone, an ice, a small packet of salt, an egg and some oil. Place your egg and the packet of salt into one of the beakers and leave it aside. Do not open the packet of salt. After that, fill the other beaker with water. You can use the kitchen's sink to do so. I'll give you 2 minutes to fill it and we'll have a short break before we continue the experiment. Feel free to take some food from the plastic here but please don't make a mess."
Kunjiro did what Xiao Ling instructed and place the filled beaker aside before taking the other empty beaker to the kitchen sink to fill it. The boy did not take a long time to fill the beaker and upon hearing the word 'break', Kunjiro placed the beaker on the table and rushed to the plastic to grab a packet of peanut biscuit and a small bottle of water.
----- Rex nodded at Xiao Ling's answer, apparently satisfied for now. Noting to himself that magic and science were two totally unrelated fields, the boy decided to just push aside all magical knowledge he had into a corner of his mind, and focused on this curious science thing. Obviously not many cared to fill his mind up with this topic in Criffelance and the Wolf household.
Turning to page 9 as instructed, Rex scanned through the page, before dog-earing the page for later. The boy focused his attention on Xiao Ling and the topic on hand. He then scribbled down the main points of said topic, before clearing the table hastily and joining it with Kunjiro's.
This temporary commotion woke King up, who snorted sleepily and peered around the room groggily. Are we done? The tyrannosaur queried and yawned, tears coming to his eyes.
No, not yet.
Rex blinked at the assorted items for the upcoming experiment, then promptly placed his egg and packet of salt into a beaker. The boy then grabbed the other beaker and nodded to Xiao Ling. "Okay, thank you."
Rex followed after his friend to the sink and filled the beaker as instructed, before moving carefully back to his table. Once there he placed the beaker (almost too hard) on said table before taking a sandwich and a bottle of water from the plastic bag. Settling himself back down on his chair, Rex grinned as King realised the presence of food around and unwrapped the cling film from his sandwich.
"Here you go," the boy said, tearing a small chunk off for himself and handed the larger portion for his twin. Rex then proceeded to nibble on his share of the sandwich, glancing from the teacher to Kunjiro.
----- Xiao Ling sat on the teacher's table and watched her students going in and out of the kitchen with their beakers. She then reached her hand out for the plastic and took out a small hamburger and started chewing it after the wrapper was removed.
... ...
Ten minutes passed quickly as the class were having their short break. When the class is ready, Xiao Ling stood up from her chair and went to the joined tables and called to her students to stop eating. "Break's over, so we'll continue the experiment. I see that both beaker's were filled with water, well done, both of you," she praised.
"The next step you need to do is simple. Place the cork, then the stone, followed by the ice and last is the oil into the filled beaker and tell me what will happen after that."
Kunjiro stopped when the break is over. The boy then threw the biscuit wrappers into the trash can beside the teacher's table and went back to his seat, ready to continue the experiment. After listening to his guardian, the boy did what was instructed and found out that some of the things float, while the others sink to the base of the beaker.
"I saw some of the items float and some sink," said Kunjiro, staring at the beaker. "Is this related to density?"
"That's right. What you see now is related to density. Stone sinks because it is more dense than water. To make stone float, you'll have to increse the density of water. To do that, you can add salt into the water. We'll do that after this. Any questions before we move on to the next one?"
----- Rex balled the cling wrap up and shoved it into his pocket, making mental note to dispose of it when he got home later. Scrambling to his feet, the boy picked and dunked each of the items into the beaker one after another (except the oil, which he poured carefully in last).
As expected some items floated and some sank, like what Kunjiro said, and Rex was interested to note that adding salt increases the density of water.
"Is this why we aren't as... floaty-- buoyant in swimming pools than in the sea at the beach?" Rex asked as the thought came into mind.
----- "Yes," replied Xiao Ling. "That's why we aren't as bouyant in swimming pools than in the sea. That is because salt is present in sea water, making it more dense. If you are swimming or playing in the sea and the water accidentally got into your mouth, you'll notice that it is very salty.
Now we'll move on to the next experiment, but I need you two to wash the beaker on your table and leave them beside the sink to dry and throw the items into the thrash can. After that, you can take out the other beaker and pour the salt into it before filling the beaker with water. Also, don't forget to stir the water and please do not put the egg into the beaker until you are told to do so."
Kunjiro nodded and went into the kitchen with two beakers on both of his hands. Once the boy reached the sink, he washed the one filled with water first by pouring the oil-layered water out first. Kunjiro then threw the cork and the stone into the thrash can nearby before pouring the other beaker with water. After doing so, the kid took a spoon nearby and stirred it. When the salt has fully dissolved, Kunjiro left the spoon beside the sink for his friend and went back to his seat.
"Please place the egg into the salty water. If it sinks, tell me and I'll give you more salt. Pour the salt into the beaker until the egg floats."
The mushroom boy grabbed the egg on his table and placed it into the beaker but it sank to the base of the beaker. "Can I have more salt, please?"
"Here you go," said Xiao Ling, handing another small packet of salt to Kunjiro.
"Thank you mom," replied Kunjiro as he took the salt from her hand. The boy then placed the salt into the beaker and the egg started to float. Feeling amazed, he added more salt until the small packet was empty. As more salt were added, the egg moved higher and higher from the base.
----- "Yes indeed," Rex mumbled, making a face and sticking out a small part of his tongue. It was worse than just salty. Rex shivered, and went over to the sink to clean up.
Rex then moved on to the next experiment after spending some time at the sink. Like Kunjiro, the boy started out with small amounts of salt, stirred into his beaker. And more. And more. And more. And... his egg stayed put at the bottom of the beaker. Frustrated and getting impatient, Rex emptied what remained of his packet of salt into it, stirring furiously and as a result sending the egg swirling dizzyingly around the mini whirlpool in his beaker.
When the 'storm' had finally settled, Rex gazed into the beaker and presto! His egg was finally floating on top. "Lemme try something," he mumbled, and fished out his bottle of water from earlier. Twisting the cap off, Rex poured a small amount into the salt solution, and noted with delight the egg beginning to sink.
"Awesome. This is fun."
----- Xiao Ling laughed at the mini whirlpool in Rex's beaker. "Interesting, isn't it? This one is one of the most interesting experiment that is simple. You can try this experiment with other materials and you can use a basin instead of a small beaker, it can carry more water and items," said the guardian.
She then looked at the clock hanging on the wall nearby. "Looks like it's almost time, please wash the beaker and left it to dry like the others, you can keep the egg as a souvenir. And also, please copy this question on a piece of paper and complete it at home before passing it to me here."
"Write down the definition of density and it's function in note form please."
"That's all for now, thank you class."
----- It was Rex's turn to laugh then, as Xiao Ling suggested a basin. "I'll need a huge amount of salt for that," the boy quipped, grinning at the teacher. The boy shifted his gaze to the clock as well, and felt slightly disappointed as Xiao Ling announced time was up.
Rex tidied up his table and shuffled over to the sink to clean the beakers before putting them up to dry as instructed. Then he returned to his seat and copied down the assignment question.
"Thank you, miss," Rex said with a smile, standing up in respect to her. The boy stood where he was for a few seconds, before looking around awkwardly.
"Um... uh. Would you like me to help tidy up the place?" Rex asked, looking from Xiao Ling to kunjiro then back again.
King, on the other hand, was glad class was over. Expecting Rex to pick up his bag and leave anytime soon, the reptile blinked, puzzled, as nothing happened.
"Chrrr?"
----- "Your welcome," replied the guardian. "And I guess I forgot to tell you my name," she continued, feeling embarrassed. "My name's Xiao Ling."
Kunjiro stood up and cleaned the apparatus(again) before carrying his table and chair and put it in the store. The boy then did the same thing on Rex's table and chair. "I'll put these back," he said. "You can help my mom put her table back into the store, if you want to."
"Like Kunjiro said, you can help me with my table. But I think I'll leave it here first," said Xiao Ling, sitting on the teacher's table. "Are you free now? If you are, you can stay longer and chat with us."
----- "Miss Ling," Rex said, smiling at Xiao Ling. "Nice to meet you."
Looking over at Kunjiro, Rex hurried over to help him put away the tables, and was just about to settle down on the couch when King decided that it was time to go.
The twin-of-Rex willed their legs to move in the direction of Rex's bag, while at the same time flooding Rex's head with his point.
Homehomehomehomehome...
Rex yelped in surprise as he lost control of his legs. The boy spent the next few seconds stumbling and fighing for control, before his twin surrendered at his reassurance that they would be heading home soon. Reaching down for his bag, Rex grabbed hold of said item and turned towards Xiao Ling and Kunjiro.
"I'm sorry- I'd love to stay, but King would like to head home now."
----- Xiao Ling jumped in surprised at the boy's condition and heaved a sigh when the situation has calmed down. "It's okay, Rex," replied the guardian after knowing that the tyrannosaur kid had to go.
"So soon?" said Kunjiro to his best friend. The boy then frowned for a while before heading towards Rex to give him a hug, taking it as an advantage to ask his friend more about the magic class. "When will magic class start?" whispered Kunjiro to his friend as he let go.
The guardian then head towards the door and opened it for Rex. Kunjiro followed too, and the kid was waving to his friend as he bid farewell. "Do visit us soon, I know Kunjiro will be very happy if you do," said Xiao Ling, waving her hand to bid farewell.
----- Rex blinked in surprise as Kunjiro huggled him suddenly. A smile soon crept onto his face as the boy caught what the latter said. "I'll try to ask Uncle Gryff when he'll have it next," came the whispered reply as Rex returned the hug. "I'll call you when I know."
"Thank you," Rex bowed to Xiao Ling as she held the door open for him. The boy stepped out of the room and turned around to face both the guardian and mishap.
"I will, thanks again," Rex said, then turned and waved back at the two before taking off at a trot in the direction of his own room.
End. Assignment Science Assignment "Density"Facts - a measure of mass per volume. - the average density of an object equals its total mass divided by its total volume. - the SI unit is generally kilogram per cubic metre (kg/m) or grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm)
Formula:
with ρ = the object's density (measured in kilograms per cubic meter) m = the object's total mass (measured in kilograms) V = the object's total volume (measured in cubic meters)
Density is used to: - figure out the buoyancy of objects/liquids - categorize and identify different materials

-- :: Meeting a new face :: -- Location: The Grounds - Playground [Green Area] Participants: Rexier Gaver & King, Silencer, Leyrandia, Pyren & Shane (dark7777 cool ---------- :: ~ :: ---------- ---------- :: ~ :: ---------- Shane had come back from his chores for the day to get Pyren's new room set up, and in spirit of Pyren's recent growth, decided to take him to the outdoor playgound. He warned Pyren to stay away from the sandbox and not to play in the snow, as he knew that both of them, like water, were almost a deathtrap to him. He didn't think that sand would have the exact same effect as snow or water, but Shane didn't want to risk it and find out. Instead, Pyren amused himself by running up and down along the jungle gym, while Shane followed alongside him, making sure that he didn't get stuck or fall down.
Pyren was having a blast on the jungle gym. He felt like he was so tall that he could even possibly be a giant. A blue, orange-loving giant in a castle with a bridge and a secret slide. Pyren began to hum a song he heard about a giant and his castle. "Fee dee dee dee, fi hi hi, fo doh dah fum!" he sang before he got to the slide and launched himself down the spiral tube where Shane was waiting for him, "Weee! I'm gonna up again!"
Shane didn't even have a second to say 'okay', before Pyren was racing up the stairs again, singing his giant song.
-----
It was a rare occasion indeed. Silencer, who was rarely seen in the premises of the Magical Mishaps HQ, was out and about, dwarved by her significantly taller charge.
To add to the rarity of the occasion, perched on Silencer's shoulder was Leyrandia, a bright, striking lesser bird-of-paradise. Silence hung about the foursome as they strolled towards the garden, making them seem quite the solemn 'little' group.
It is a beautiful day, isn't it? Leyrandia chirped, her voice ringing through human, mishap and tyrannosaur's heads. I can't remember seeing such a good weather in the grounds, can you Silencer dear? The bird chattered on, fluffing herself up against the chill of December snow.
"But Andi, you've never been out in the grounds before," Silencer pointed out, perplexed.
"And it's chilling out now," Rex added, pulling his sweater up closer against his twin as the tyrannosaur shivered, then grumbled. "And King never liked the cold."
True, that.
Before Leyrandia could retort, there was a disturbance in the heard, and all heads turned in the direction of the playground.
"Oh, someone's out in this weather too?" Silencer squinted, trying to make out who or what was on the other side. She mumbled to herself, hating her human eyesight more than ever, "Don't think I've seen them before... a guy, and a blue kid?"
Why don't we go see?
"Let's."
Rex grinned and took off in the direction of the playground. A typical reaction for the boy with a love for social settings, and a new face or two was more than good enough reason to check out.
"Hi there!"
-----
At the friendly call, Shane and Pyren both looked up to see a boy in the distance sprinting towards them. Shane began to wave back in a friendly fashion, until he was struck by the size of the boy comming towards them. "Woah..." Shane half exclaimed, half amazed and half amused. The boy was enormous! Still, he seemed nice enough, so Shane kept waving.
Pyren on the other hand, was terrified. Here he thought he was a giant. He thought wrong. "Ahhh! Run daddy! GIANT! Run awaaay!" Pyren began to shout as he ran around in circles, trying to find a decent hiding place. Pyren spotted the slide and thought of a perfect hiding spot. Quickly, he dove inside the slide and used all his might to stop himself in the bend of the tube to sit and wait for the giant to go away, certain that the giant would never find him there.
-----
Rex skidded to a stop before Shane, an ever present grin plastered onto his face. True to his mother's words, Rex had never seen the man before - but then again, everyone in the household spent more time in Criffelance than in the HQ lately.
"Hi, mister. I haven't seen you around here, are you new?" Rex managed to ask, before his attention was drawn to Pyren and his screams of terror.
"Um.. Oh hi Mom."
Having finally caught up with Rex(with much effort), Silencer leaned herself against him, panting heavily. Obviously she was not as athletic as her son. Very not-athletic.
Still panting, the girl managed a smile to Shane. Speech has yet to find its way back to her.
Just then a rust-brown, yellow and white shape lauched itself off Silencer and swooped past, landing gracefully on the entrance of the slide. I beg your pardon, child. Came a voice in Pyren's head as Leyrandia addressed him, glancing down into the slide. There is no reason to react the way you did, you know?
-----
"Hello," Shane greeted both the lady and boy, who was unmistakeably a Mishap. "Yeah, I'm a little new still I guess. Haven't seen the whole grounds yet, but I've met quite a few Mishaps. There's been Lenore, Osso, Kunjiro, miss Retta, Delphi...and oh who's that other one..." Shane said, snapping his fingers trying to remember "Oh, and Sabri! He was an adventurous one. Anyways, I'm Shane..."
Pyren sat in the bend of the slide, waiting for the giant to go away. Shane wasn't moving, and seemed to be standing up to the giant. That was brave, Pyren thought. Suddenly, when the voice rang out in his head, he leaned up to look for its source, and began to slide backwards. "Ahhh!" he screamed when he reached the bottom. Quickly, he then began to try and scramble up and inside the slide again, but it was no use. It was too slippery and cold. Instead, Pyren sat with wide eyes looking up at the giant that was pleasently talking to Shane.
"And this is Pyren." Shane said, pointing with his thumb to the blue, cowering MP3 boy. When he saw that Pyren was scared stiff, Shane blinked,
"H'okay," Shane grunted as he picked up Pyren and put him on his shoulders. "There, now you're taller than me, so say hello."
Pyren was still very much afraid, but he managed to squeek out a very high pitched and rapid little 'hi', before becoming stiff as a board yet again.

Rex's attention was fully trained on Shane as he listed out mishap names. "I know Kunjiro!" he chirped upon hearing a familiar name. "He's my close pal. We have classes together," the boy added, beaming down at Shane.
"I know Lenore and Osso too, though it's been a long time since I've last seen them," Rex chattered on, frowning slightly. "But the Retta, Delphi and Sabri, never heard of them," the boy said with a shake of his head, forgetting that he had, in fact, met Sabriel once.
Meanwhile Silencer uttered not a single word and instead stood listening to her charge's ramblings, nodding at names familiar to her. There was then a sudden distraction in the form of Pyren, and, upon catching sight of the mishap's terrified expression, Silencer laughed.
"Nice to meet you, Shane," the girl smiled, bowing a nod. "Pyren."
"I'm Silencer, and..."
"I'm Rex," the boy continued where his mother trailed off, before angling his head to reveal a tyrannosaurus rex joined to him at the head and back. "And this is my brother, King."
King, feeling as miserable and sluggish as ever, was in no mood for introductions and socialising. The tyrannosaur merely gave a disinterested grunt of acknowledgement at Rex's introduction, then returned to being feeling very sorry for himself.
"He's not too happy about the weather," Rex explained sheepishly, waving at Pyren. "Hello blue-guy!"
Just then Leyrandia did her swooping trick again, this time fluttering onto Silencer's head before turning to gaze majestically at both man and boy before her.
-----
"Yeah, Kunjiro's a nice boy," Shane said "It's thanks to him now though that Pyren won't even think about ever eating fish, and I learned my lesson about getting this guy too close to water. That was not fun."
When Rex turned his head, and Shane noticed there was a T-Rex on the back of his neck, he not only realized why Rex was so tall, but also possibly a way to convince Pyren not to be afraid of Rex.
"Pyren, see! He's not a giant, he's a dinosaur." Shane told the boy
"Ooooh! A Dinozar! Rarr!" Pyren exclaimed, no longer afraid. So when Rex greeted Pyren, he replied, instead of screaming, with "Hello Dinozar! I'm Pywen! Who'reyou? Rar!"
Shane chuckled at the influence of pop culture over Pyren. He always wondered why giant humans were seen as bad, and giant hungry lizards were seen as good. Then again, he wasn't going to complain.
"Anyways, nice to meet you Silencer, King, Rex, and umm..." Shane glanced towards the shimmering bird that just set itself upon Silencer's head and an expression of awe lit his face "Well, isn't that a gorgeous bird! Never seen one like that before!" Completely unaware of whether or not the bird did or didn't belong to Silencer.
-----
"I'm Rex, and this is my brother King, the dinozar," Rex said, looking down at Pyren rather amusedly before getting down to one knee. "What were you doing, Pyren?"
"You mean Leyrandia?" Silencer laughed, reaching at arm to the side of her head. "She's a bird of paradise, but most importantly, my gaian angel," the girl smiled, then added, "This is only her physical form."
What Silencer said. Nice to meet you, Shane.
-----
Shane was taken aback by the voice in his head. It was a weird feeling, as the voice was distinctly not his own. It must have come from Leyrandia.
"King, Rex! Watch!" Pyren exclaimed as he raced up the jungle gym again and began to dance and stomp about.
"See, I a giant!" he said, then suddenly looked at Rex and noticed that he still towered over Pyren by a little bit.
"Heey!" Pyren complained after realizing his miscalculation in height "Daad! Ar dinozaur bigger den giants?" he asked
Shane tried and failed to stiffle a laugh at Pyren's question
"Afraid so Pyren, it looks like Rex is still bigger."
"Aww weally?!" Pyren complained.
-----
"Of course! No one is taller than me, 'cept perhaps Jabir," Rex boasted, puffing out in pride. Looking down at Pyren, who was almost at the same height as him, the boy grinned.
"I know one way you can be taller than me though."
"Rex... you be careful," Silencer cautioned, recognising the playful glint in her boy's eyes. She was just about to warn him of his previous stunt in Criffelance when there was a sharp ring in her ears. Looking down at her pocket in reflex her heart clenched as a red glow showed through the cloth, pulsing frantically for her attention. Oh no..
"Rex, just be careful alright?" Turning to Shane, Silencer gave a slight bow, her actions swift and hurried. "Sorry Shane, but I'll have to leave immediately. Emergency. It's been nice knowing you, hope to see you around again sometime."
With that the girl took off in the direction of the HQ, morphing into her swifter Greften form while on the run, with Leyrandia leading the way in flight. Only Rex and King were left behind.

.. after dinner .. Rex was, for once, sprawled on the improvised sofa(normal 'open end' sofa with a few extensions here and there), his eyes fixed on the new television set. Occasionally a yawn or two would make their great escape from the twins' mouth, and it was not long before Silencer ambled forth and slapped the boy's foot to get him to sit up right.
"Don't watch tv while lying down, it's bad for your eyes," the 19-year-old scolded, planting herself beside her charge and handing him a bowl of ice-cream as the latter scrambled hastily into a proper sitting position.
"Sorry," Rex mumbled, accepting the dessert gladly. "Thank you."
"No worries. Here King, catch! Rex grinned, tossing a ball of ice-cream wrapped in bread up at King, which he caught neatly in one fluid motion. Instead of giving it a crunch and swallowing the ice-cream 'ball' at one go, however, he played it around with his tongue, having learned that ice-cream was best enjoyed slowly.
"Well done!" Silencer cheered, laughing. "What's on tv by the way, Rex?" She asked, turning to the television.
"N'thing much, just some documentaries and news and ridiculously silly animes and... here, take the remote." Rex prodded the tv control in his mother's direction, shifting his attention to the ice-cream in his hands instead. He was clearly bored and disinterested in the programs offered that night. But then again, Rex has never been interested in anything tv-related.
"Mmmm! Cookies 'n Cream?"
"Yup!" Clipping the bowl between her knees, Silencer dug into her own bowl, switching idly between channels. "You're right, there's absolutely nothing on tonight..."
The girl made a face before switching the television set off. Just then, one of the glass pearls on the coffee table before them glowed briefly before dying out. A second later, a gryphon emerged from the portal connecting the room to Criffelance.
Aaahh... Having ice-cream and not letting me in on it? Gryffenc teased, spotting the bowls in both Silencer and Rex's hands. The gryphon bounded over to the three, nodding acknowledgingly to King as he rumbled in greeting, still enjoying his big ball of bread and vanilla ice-cream.
Why, even King gets a portion, the gryphon mulled, pretending to feel hurt. He sighed, and turned away when Rex offered him Rex's own bowl, faking a sob.
"Oh c'mon Gryff, we didn't know you're coming. Don't be such a drama king," Silencer said, putting on a serious face. Upon receiving nothing but silence on the gryphon's part, she grinned and jabbed him with the unused end of her spoon, laughing as he glared at her and fluffed up in 'anger'. "I'll go get you some then, big hatchling. What flavour do you want, vanilla, raspberry swirls or cookies 'n cream?"
No need! Gryffenc continued with his act, turning his beak up at them and straightening up with dignity. Casting a haughty look at the two before him, the gryphon de-fluffed and announced majestically, I'm a very busy gryphon. Turning to Rex, he angled his head. You, boy, I want to see in an hour's time. In Criffelance. Bring your friend along. Don't forget that.
And you... Gryff trailed off, staring down at the human before him. Silencer blinked, trying to put up as serious a face as she could muster. A few moments of silence passed. Suddenly Gryff turned sharply around before stalking off to the kitchen area, leaving the two-- no, three laughing away in the lounge.

-- :: An invitation to class :: -- Location: Kunjiro's Room Participants: Rexier Gaver & King, Atsutoshi Kunjiro---------- :: ~ :: ----------.:: Link to RP ::. .. page 9 .. starting post 13---------- :: ~ :: ---------- Once again, Rexier Gaver stood before the door of his good friend Atsutoshi Kunjiro's home, wondering if it was a good idea to be there after all. It was rather late by Silencer's standard at 7.30 pm, and the boy was unsure whether it would be the same for Kunjiro's mother.
Oh well, he'd have to try.
"But I feel rude! Trust Uncle Gryff to come up with such a time to ask Kunjiro over..." Rex said aloud to himself, straightening his clothes. Reaching a hand in front of him, Rex asked the only one with him right there and then, "Should I, King?
Mrrm. A nod. You have to.
"True. I hope Miss Ling doesn't get angry at me. Here goes..."
Rap-a-tap-tap!
-----
The door was unbolted and opened not long after it was knocked by the tyrannosaurus boy. Behind the door stood Kunjiro in his pajamas, and the kid was surprised to see his friend at this late hour.
"Hey Rex! I didn't expect you to visit us at this time," greeted Kunjiro. "Mum and the others are asleep, so come in and take a seat while I go and change for a while."
After closing the door Kunjiro ran quickly into his room and changed his outfit before pouring two glasses of water for both Rex and King. "I was surprised just now," said Kunjiro as he offered the glass of water to his friend. "That you suddenly visit us at night. Is it something interesting you want to share it me?"
-----
Rex took the glass from Kunjiro with a nod and a word of thanks, before taking a sip. Holding it in his right hand and fingering the rim with his left fingers, the boy smiled sheepishly down at his friend.
"Well, I'm not sure if it is, but remember--" The boy stole a glance towards the rooms and lowered his voice, "I told you about joining me for magic lessons? Well, Uncle Gryff's having the class tonight."
King peered at Kunjiro through the side of his eyes, eyeing the glass of water in the mushroom boy's hand disdainfully. The tyrannosaur was being unusually quiet that night, as the excitement and thrill of sneaking around got to him - a misinterpretation, of course.
-----
"HU...Whoops," whispered Kunjiro who was about to shout in excitement when he realised that the other family members were asleep. Trying his best not to wake them up, the kid closed the room doors quietly.
"So, when does the class start? I hope it's not too late, I'm not allowed to stay up late," asked the excited boy. "What do I have to bring?"
-----
Rex chuckled softly at his friend's reaction.
"Well, it's in half an hour, I'm afraid. Can you come? To my house, that is." There was a pause as Rex tried to recall things he needed to bring along to class.
"I don't remember having to bring anything to Uncle Gryff's lesson. But bring along something to write with, in case you need to jot down notes."
-----
The smile on Kunjiro's face turned down upon hearing the time. "Mum will be angry if I go out that late," said the boy sadly as he sat on the nearest sofa. "But I really, really want to attend the class."
He then left his friend alone and thought hard. Isn't there any way not to let his guardian know about him attending the magic that late? He cannot afford to say 'no' to his friend, for the boy had already promised to attend it with him. That would only waste Rex's time visiting and informing him about the magic class.
Suddenly, Kunjiro had an idea. The boy jumped up from his seat and clapped his hands in glee, feeling excited. "I know! I can stuff something on my bed and cover them up with my blanket and I'm sure no one will know that I'm still awake and away," said Kunjiro. "Then I'll be able to attend the class without mother knowing about it!"
-----
Rex felt a tug in his heart upon seeing Kunjiro's expression. A short while later the boy jumped at his friend's sudden movements, a sly smile creeping across his face at the mushroom boy's suggestion.
"Great idea!" Rex exclaimed, careful to keep his voice low so as to not wake Xiao Ling up. The boy bit his lips as he paused for a thought, then offered to enchant Kunjiro's pillows so they would move accordingly so as to give the impression of life.
With the suggestion came guilt, as a wave realization hit him a moment later - they were going to cheat. Worse, they would be cheating a parent.
-----
"Hehe," said Kunjiro cheerfully as he entered his room with some pillows taken from the store. The boy then placed them carefully on his bed and covered them up with the blanket. "Thanks for the help," said the boy to his friend, after hearing the offer.
"Er... can we go quickly?" asked Kunjiro, feeling nervous. "Sometimes mum will go into my room to see if I'm asleep, so I'm afraid what will happen to me if she knew that I'm still awake."
-----
"You're welcome," Rex said as he waved his hand, palm down, along the the pillows. Almost immediate the pillows started to rise and fall rhymically, as if the makeshift figure was a living, breathing person.
"There we are," the boy said, turning to Kunjiro. "Of course, let's go."
With a nod Rex slid out of Kunjiro's room and the house into the hallway, careful not to make any noise that would wake Xiao Ling up. The boy was thankful for King's cooperation, and thanked his twin while waiting for his friend.
"Well come on Kunjiro, my room's this way." With that Rex let the way to his 'room', which was quite a distance away from Kunjiro's.
-----
"Okay," replied the excited kid as he grabbed the stationeries required. He then stuffed them into his pocket as he made his way to the door, following his friend. Kunjiro grew more and more excited as he closed the door quietly and walked along the corridor to his friend's room.

-- :: Magic Class with Gryffenc :: -- Rex led Kunjiro quietly to his room/apartment, while King gazed silently at the mushroom boy before him. It did not take long for the boys to arrive at Rex's door. With a grin to his friend, Rex opened the door and led the way in.
"Mum, Gryff, I'm back! And look who I brought over!" Rex announced, stepping swinging the door open and stepping aside for Kunjiro.
"Come on in, Mum and Gryff's inside," the boy said, turning to the mushroom boy and keeping in mind to address the gryphon by his name as preferred in the latter's presence.
"Oh!" Silencer exclaimed, half-squealing in delight at having Kunjiro over again. The teenager scarmbled to her feet and hurried over to greet the mushroom boy, her face all smiles. "Come in, come in."
"Make yourself at home, I'll be right back." With that, Silencer disappeared into the kitchen.

"Err... Thank you," said the boy nervously to his friend after entering the room. Due to the fact that the room of his friend's environment is way different than his, Kunjiro felt more nervous than before and jumped in surprise as the guardian 'half-squealed' in delight. "Hello," greeted the kid shyly.

In the kitchen, Silencer snaked her way towards the fridge and picked out a tub of ice-cream. The girl then went over to get a dessert bowl before moving to the counter and gave Gryff, who has assumed the form of a human, a bump on the way.
"Stop eating, and get out there," she said, filling the bowl with on, two scoops. The girl contemplated for a moment, before adding another scoop. "Kunjiro's here - you do remember him right?"
"Mmph. The mushroom kid from last time?" Gryff made a face at her, and finished the last spoonful of CnC before stuffing bowl and spoon into the dishwasher. Taking the bowl from Silencer's hand, he reached for a spoon and started on his way to the living/guest room. "Of course!"
Outside, Rex motioned for Kunjiro to take a seat. Not a second later a green hued skeletal creature appeared from behind the fish pond, peering cautiously at the stranger. A growl emanated from the creature's throat(somehow), and he took a threatening posture. Who dared enter the residence?
"Down Zar. It's okay, Kunjiro's a friend," Gryff said as he emerged from the kitchen and made his way towards the boys, followed shortly by a calm but still wary Zarrol. "Here you go, kid. Take a break first before your first lesson."
"It's nice to have you over again. I'm so glad your mother allows you to come, Kunjiro," Silncer said, coming out of the kitchen just then.
"Yep. We're gonna go to Criffelance after this, so eat up. There's more space for us there," Rex added, enthusiasm clearly in his voice as he plopped onto the couch. The boy did not say anything else, but instead reached down and patted Zarrol, who returned the gesture with a wag of his tail and an affectionate nibble on Rex's hand before squirming off to King's side. Between the twins, it was clear the cerexi liked the tyrannosaur better.
It was clear that King loved Zarrol too. The tyrannosaur reached out and licked Zarrol lovingly, happy to be in company the latter.

The kid walked further into the room, not as nervous now. The room was full of chatters and noise which the boy was not used to it. Feeling tired, he then decided to take a seat on one of the chairs and bowed slightly to thank his friend, not noticing the green-colored skeletal creature growling at him.
"Oh, thank you," said Kunjiro as he took the ice cream thankfully. The kid then ate them slowly for his teeth hurts every time he consumes something freezing cold.
Kunjiro then felt guilty upon hearing what Silencer said. His guardian knew nothing about him sneaking out at night just to attend the class. The boy said nothing and continued eating the ice cream. Time passed, and the ice cream bowl was getting emptier and emptier.

"You're welcome kid."
Smiling, Gryffenc ambled over to the single seater to the left of the kids and settled down on it, watching the mushroom mishap eat for a moment before shifting his gaze towards the clock. Satisfied that they had a few minutes to go before class, Gryff sat back into the sofa and went through the upcoming lesson in his head while Silencer took the seat opposite him.
An awkward silence hung in the air.
"So," Silencer started in an attempt to break the ice. "How is your family doing, Kunjiro?" My, he is such a quiet kid, she thought to herself, gazing at Kunjiro while he ate his ice-cream.
"Uncle Gryff, what'll we do tonight?" Rex asked, scooting closer towards the shapeshifter.
Pretty much deep in thought, Gryff missed the mishap addressing him as 'uncle' and instead caught just the last three words.
"Oh? Yes. Well, we'll be doing some introductory lessons, seeing as this is your friend's first time in learning magic. For you, it'll be a revision of sorts," Gryff explained. Seeing Rexier's disappointed look, he chuckled and added, "Of course, there will be practical lessons as always."
At the mention of pactical lessons Rex perked up. "King too?"
"Yes, if he's willing to listen. He'll still be learning control though. If he wants to do anything else, he'll have to master it first."
"Oh, can I come?"
"Of course you can. You know that already. As soon as Kunjiro here finishes his ice-cream, we'll set off."

Kunjiro was still eating the ice cream when the guardian asked him about his family, which made him looked up. After some time licking his mouth, the boy answered with a cheerful tone. "They are good, thank you," said the kid, still licking his mouth. He then ate his last scoop of ice cream and he was done with them. Not wanting to be rude, Kunjiro stood up wandered around the house before knowing the way to the kitchen with the bowl on his hand and placed it in the sink.
"Well, I'm done. Sorry for the wait," apologised Kunjiro, seeing that he wasted a lot of time on eating a bowl of ice cream. "So..." said the boy as he sat on one of the empty chairs. "What should I do next?" asked Kunjiro, feeling akward.

"You're welcome, Kunjiro. I'm glad you like it." Silencer's gaze followed the boy as he disappeared into the kitchen and smiled at his politeness.
"Just put it on the counter. I'll take care of the washing up later," she added, getting up after Gryffenc. This was followed by Rex, and soon the three were congregated before a door beside the indoor fish pond. The very same pearl that glowed prior to Gryff's arrival shone brightly once again, indicating the portal was ready(and safe) to be used.
"Come, Kunjiro." Gryff motioned to the mishap. He reached for the doorknob and opened the door, holding it open to reveal a lush, green garden on the other side of the wooden frame. He stood aside, still holding the door open, waiting for Kunjiro. Silencer and Rex, as well as King, had already made it past the doorway and into the castle grounds.

"Okay," said the boy as he stood up from the chair and took his belongings when he was called. After seeing the others entered the portal to the castle grounds, he took a deep breath before running towards the door.
Upon reaching the castle grounds, the boy saw the other members and quickly rushed towards them. Kunjiro wasn't used to places full of magic, the boy felt dizzy and uncomfortable.
