Just finished one of Hannah Howell's highlander romance novels. Her books are quick reads that keep momentum.
Not sure what I'll read next... Maybe I'll finish the hunger game series up finally.

THINNER by Stephen King
If you've ever seen the movie (it um, came out in um...early 2000)...the book (as mostly usual) is WAY better!
This guy was driving home with his wife from their honeymoon, and suddenly, OUT OF NOWHERE (well...actually from behind two parked cars...but whatever) this old lady comes into view and...BAM he hits her...body parts go flying everywhere! Well, okay...her body goes flying...but...body parts flying everywhere is WAY cooler! Ahem...anyways...some time after, the guy goes to court to serve a sentence for the accident...then after, he goes to a carnival where the old lady's hubby bumps into the guy who hit the old dude's wife and puts a curse on him that makes him...*drumroll* THINNER!!!! Yeah, I know...it seems lame...but...TRUST ME....GOOOOOOD BOOK!

gaia_nitemareleft I also managed to finish the Anansi's boys -book so now I have to think of something new to read. I've read scifi books lately (mainly Ian Banks) so I might switch back to fantasy. I just haven't found any good series lately that wouldn't be a reincarnation attempt from earlier stories. @Kitty: I liked the hunger games series. It got better towards the ending. 3nodding gaia_angelright

I'm reading The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper.
When I'm finished with that book, I might reread something else like The Kite Runner.

I want to see it when it comes out, so I thought that I would read the book before it did.

I liked The Hunger Games too, but I felt it sort of fell apart towards the end. I mean, Mockingbird WTF?

I'm reading Ender's Game right now, and am really enjoying it.
The guy at the bookstore told me they're making a film adaptation of it; looks like it will be out November 2013. It's one I've been wanting to read for a few years actually, and I'm glad I've finally gotten my hands on it before the movie hype.

I mean, Mockingbird WTF? gaia_nitemareleft Oh yeah, the American Gods was brilliant! I think the American Gods and The Anansi's boys was really similar in the story line and atmosphere. I'm also a really a big fan of Gaiman. Have you read The Graveyard Book? I really enjoyed that one. He has also made a good collaboration with Terry Pratchet, another favorite author of mine. It's called The Good Omens. I warmly suggest that one too. 3nodding gaia_angelright
