Well, now would be as good as time as any, might as well get yourself comfortable, meditation needs a bit of patience.
Daemon replied.

Gion sat just inside the mouth of the cave with his back against the wall.

You don't feel that, do you? he asked, hoping that Daemon didn't feel that he was being pressed between Gion's body and the cave wall.

Feel what?

Daemon inquired back curiously. There were always time Gion asked that, granted swords felt nothing.

Gion grinned. Nothing, he replied, satisfied. All right, tell me what to do.

Close your eyes, I'll lead you through the counting, we are going to control your breathing as well as clear your thoughts. At least that's the point of the excerise.
Daemon explained.

Gion crossed his legs and closed his eyes obediently.

Take a deep breath in.....

Daemon counted to three slowly as it was taught before telling Gion to breath out, he kept this up for about a minute trying to use the most gentle voice he could. Getting Gion to just empty his mind. He had an idea.. he just wasn't sure if it was going to work, but at least he could focus on other things.. hopefuly.

Gion did as Daemon instructed and felt himself relaxing.

This bit is the hardest, you need to open up your mind a bit, listen to everything around you imagine yourself drift out.

Daemon wasn't much of a magic user though he did have an aura like all beings. It was just it was harder for him to make his aura more noticable.

Gion tried to do as Daemon asked, but there was nothing to listen to but the sound of his breathing, his own heart beating in his chest, the hint of a desert breeze ...

... the stars ...

Daemon tried something he wouldn't have dared to try two weeks ago, and that was to project himself, it took though training to see people who projected themselves, but it was the only way he could think of to make his energies more noticable.

An invisible hand on the shoulder.

Gion jumped, startled, and whirled around, his eyes wild. There was nothing but the wall ...

What was that? he demanded, his heart pounding.

Hey it worked.

Daemon replied cheerfily.

I didn't think I was strong enough to pull that little bit off.... astra projecting myself using my aura... otherwise I'm not all that good making my own aura noticable.

Well warn me if you're going to do that, Gion thought sourly. It scared me.

He tried to settle down again, and took several deep breaths.

Well you felt it? People generally don't unless they have the gift for it.. or they were doing what you are now... It didn't feel solid did it?

Daemon replied back thoughtfuly and knowningly at the same time.

It felt different did it?
