He looks upwards at the sky. "I- ah, that's not quite what I mean..." sweatdrop He fidgets again, wrapping his tail around his leg, the spikes brushing agaisnt the sand as he idly flicks one of his ram-horns with a finger.

Yume brushes the sand off her lap that you flicked up. Looking over at you, she smiled and giggled slight. "Zuko, what is on your mind? Something isn't right."

Sirene Naiads Yume brushes the sand off her lap that you flicked up. Looking over at you, she smiled and giggled slight. "Zuko, what is on your mind? Something isn't right."

Yume's gold eyes went wide. Her ears stood up as far as they could and her tail was still behind her. "Um..." She stumbled to get out. Her heart was racing in her chest and it was hard for her to form her words.
Zuko...wants me as his girlfriend? How...how...what should I say.... Thoughts raced through her mind before she took a deep breath. "Zuko...I don't know..." She half screamed, half whispered as her gripped her pants in her hands. She was shaking a bit scared of what was going to come from this.

Yume could tell that he was hurting a bit and she knew she had caused it. She looked out into the sea and reached out to grab his hand. "Zuko...I like you alot. I just don't know if I'm ready to become someone's girlfriend." She spoke and held his hand in hers. "I never meant to hurt you and I never want to hurt you..." She sighed and said softly looking over at him. Her eyes were soft and sad.

He jumps a little at the sudden touch on his hand, and he looks at Yume, startled, with faint sadness in his eyes. He shakes his head again. "No, I-I shouldn't've asked. I should've waited..." He smiles again, but it isn't a happy and cheery one, kind of morose and somber. He kisses her lightly on the forehead. "Don't worry about it, kitten. We're still friends, right?" He grins, play-punching her shoulder lightly.

Yume smiled softly and the punch in her shoulder. "Friends..." She whispered before locking her eyes with him. She got a sudden beating in her heart before she could breathe again. Suddenly, she felt herself moving towards him and placing a hand on the otherside of his face. Slowly, she moved in and kissed his lips softly.

He smiles at her words, and his eyes widen as his body freezes when she kisses him. He is unresponsive for a moment as the surprise looses it's grip on his body, and after a moment he hesitantly kisses her back, unsure of her feelings.

Yume leans more into the kiss as she feels him starting to kiss back. She moves closer to him sliding her hand up his arm before freezing. Suddenly, she completely pulls back and blinks staring straight at him. It was easy to see she was breathy faster and turning pale.
A moment later, she pushed herself up and started running down the beach away from him.

A moment later, she pushed herself up and started running down the beach away from him.

Yume's eyes were full of tears as Zuko turned her to face him. She was shaking and holding her arms over her chest. "I'm....I'm so sorry..." She whispered looking away. Her tail was limp behind her and her ears flat against her head. "I lost control...I...I sometimes lose it every now and then..." She whispered trying to pull away.

He shakes his head quickly. "It's alright to lose control now and then! Hell, look at me and remember what happened when I did? This isn't nearly so bad when you think about it that way, isn't it? It's okay Yume..." He wraps his arms around her shoulders in a tight hug, his chin resting on top of her head as he just holds her in his arms. "Yume, I don't think any less of you for losing control. You've been strong in times when any other person probably would've crumbled or ran..." He smiles encouragingly at her, holding her away a little, and lifting her chin up with a finger. "Believe me on that one. You're still the same fiery kitten you were before." He kisses her lightly on the forehead, hugging her encouragingly again.

She was shaking as she listened to Zuko. Her eyes were locked on yours as she tried to hold back any more tears. Slowly, with his arms around her, she stopped her shivering and just held onto him. "Even...even though I am strong then...I'm weak when it comes to this..." She whispered between sobs and moved into his hold. "I'm just scared..."

He just rests her head on his shoulder, hugging her again and crooning softly. "Don't be scared, there's nothing to be afraid of, I'll protect you. I'm always here for you, Yume, don't worry..." He murmers in her ear, rubbing a hand up and down her back comfortingly.
