Me and the members of my school's jazz band were talking about Jazz Oboe! Imagine what that would be like!
Anyway, I joined Jazz Band this year, not this summer, but the previous school year. (I'm in 7th grade going to 8th) And I was so happy because I got my first solo! We played Blue Rondo Ala Turk! OMG! It was actually quite hard at first, but we made it through. It was funny because the second alto's (That's what I play) actually had a written solo! Anyway, I got to play it and my BD said I had the best solo!
I was so happy! But sadly, our BD told us that Jazz Band might die this year due to lack of participants crying I love jazz band! I don't want it to die!!!

I'm going to be a new Jazz Band member starting next year!
I've been playing the piano since I was 3, and I've loved it since. I've never had any formal instruction, but I've gotten pretty good by myself. My Choir teacher last year actually gave me some private piano lessons during lunch, so my skills kept increasing.
Luckily, the pianist for the Jazz Band at my school last year was a senior. Now that she's graduated, I can fill her role! I'm pretty excited; I know mostly everyone in the Jazz Band from before, so I think I'll get along with everyone pretty well.

i love jazz band. its like something pretty much anyone can do. i just dont know y some people in my school dont want to join. btw, i play trumpet

fatcheehcs Tubariffic Alas there is no jazz tuba -emo- sad, yes, for the tuba is the awesomeness. they don't need tuba they have bass trombone

jeff dragon fatcheehcs Tubariffic Alas there is no jazz tuba -emo- sad, yes, for the tuba is the awesomeness. they don't need tuba they have bass trombone Depends what arrangement your playing. The bass bone players in the bands i've been in played tuba so if the chart called for it they'd play it.

I tried out for junior jazz band and didn't make it. I was disappointed, and the people who made is were being really smug.
But then the BD asked me to join SENIOR jazz band, I was happy. And the smug people, they saw me at a rehearsal, the next thing I knew, they were rushing out of the music room. hahaha

I love Jazz Band. I told my friends I could stay in the band room all day. They looked at my like I was crazy xd . I play the tenor saxophone in Jazz, by the way.

Cool! I'm in jazz band, 8th grade this year! ^.^ I play trigger trombone, and i can't believe it, but i missed our first concert crying

Ahh, jazz band's starting up in m yschool.
I made it on vibes and my friend is my understudy. So at least I get to play other things this year! 8D
Last year, our bassist was going to miss a show and oh-so-conveniently, our director can play bass.
So we had no one conducting, our director on bass (and looking ridiculous), and just me and the understudy piano girl holding the band together. And I was holding her in line since she hadn't practiced. So really...I was the one who saved the entire band. And nobody seems to know this except me and the director. :l
Oh well.
My best friend made it too so I know things are going to be great, no matter what. 8D

I play trombone in jazz band. I'm a freshie though, and not even in the class (I have to skip English sometimes, to be in the class)
I think it'll be pretty damn hard. But I like a challenge.

its cool that they put a jazz section in this guild. i've been doin jazz since 7th grade (i'm a junior now). i play trombone and vibes. weird combination i know but that's what being in the PIT for marching band does to a guy haha
so anyone here in a jazz combo?
