Keekin sat up, her hands shaking from the ride and her adreneline pumping. "Do you think it is safe?" She asked. She looked a bit dizzy. "are we out of the marsh yet..." She turned around and looked at her surroundings... trying to get a grasp of her balance.
Pook jumped up and down on the unicorns back. "Abin abin abin!!" he mumbled loudly. He was leaving his slime on the pretty fur.

"Yes, yes, it is surely safer here than in that horrible marsh. There is more shelter here. We must not drop our guard however. Let us continue on, we must get this pulpit to the firebird as soon as possible."

Keelin nodded noticing that it was indeed outside the marsh as soon as she asked the question. She sniffed the air. "AHH! No more putrid stench" She looked at Pook. "well, almost none..."
"Alright, onward we go! Do you think we should make haste in a gallop. If so we can continue riding you and it would be faster. But if you want to just trot, I can possibly skip as fast as your trot. It takes tons out of me though."
Pook pouted. "bwi bwi bwodden!" He started crying.

"I don't think I could manage any more galloping. But it is no hardship for me to carry you while I trot. Pook might feel at home with all the gunk I have picked up on my fur." Chael rolled his eyes but it was not noticeable with the fur hanging over them. "Let us hope the last leg of our journey is uneventful."

"Ow whoo whoo," Everett hooted. His claws were free and had slashed open his wings and tail. Now was just cutting his back free. But this didn't seem like any spiderweb...it look handmade...

Nefar whirled around Edana lazily. *Why are you bothering with a stupid firebird anyhow? There are better things to do.* he grumbled. *You could be out catching the one who poisoned it. Of course, you'd need my help for that. Not sure I'll give it. This is getting old quick."
He spun around nearly running into her. *Maybe I'll just take that flower from you and let it die.* he smirked slightly, teasing her as he passed close by it. *Or even fry it to a crisp. I wonder what that plant would taste like.* Suddenly bored, he drifted lower.
Flying closer to the ground, he swooped low over the unicorn carrying its strange passengers.
*Now those three might roast up tasty.* he smirked aloud knowing they'd hear him. *Well, maybe two would. That mudge would taste like swamp I think.*

As they started the journey along the path back to the firebird, Chael turned his head slightly. "Did you, um, hear anything just before we left the marsh?" he asked cryptically.

Edana looked at Nefar with a disgusted look. How can you say such a thing? The firebird did nothing wrong. It does not deserve to die this way. Almost colliding with the elder threw her of center. Her wings tipping slightly to ensure against the collision. Although finding the wicked thing that could do this to such a beautiful bird sounds interesting. But how do I know I can trust what you say? You would enjoy sending me off on a wild creature chase. Even in the short time knowing Nefar, Edana knew he was just as much a trickster as the great Puck himself.

Chael set off at a trot, his mind set on getting the pulpit safely to the firebird. He put the thought of the shadow behind him, and the silly notion that he had heard a voice from the sky. They had cover now at least, he thought.

Nefar tilted his head and snorted. A bit of smoke came out his nostrils. Whirling ahead of them, he suddenly swooped down directly in front of them.
*Looks like lunch to me!* he smirked, opening his mouth to let some smoke out. A few flames could be seen. *As soon as they are toasted and roasted just right.*

It had taken Ranger some time to realize that not only had he been disregarded, he had also been ignored.
Indignant, he flapped after the group, ready to give them a piece of his mind. And hey-who WOULDN'T want a piece of him, anyway?
His thoughts were consumed with such fluffery, until he realized there were some sounds of distress coming up ahead.
"hey, hey, HEY!" he greeted, a bit downcast that he wasn't able to make the same zipping entrance twice.
But it fell on deaf hearing. It looked as if the owl had gotten himself more than a little ensnared.
"Well, gee." he said. "Isn't THAT a bummer?"

Paige took out her stick and tried again to free the poor owl. "Gah, trying not to stick, but pick. These webs are so ICK!" She stuck out her tongue and made a rasberry at them, gettting the owl too. "Gah, sorry." The stick caught in the owl as well. "Hmmm well, a sharper one may do better." She flew to the ground searching for one. "GAH! That is REALLY sharp! It will do nicely!' She picked it up and was going to try again when she saw the dragon.
"Urm, Gah! Scarey." She went invisible all of a sudden, a stick dropped from the air.

Keelin looked up. "I think.. ur... there is something up there." Her hand went into her pouch to her sling. Sure that was a useful thing for smaller animals... but dragons?! Non-the-less it comforted her to hold it.

Edana saw the torment Nefar was causing. In order to reassure her friends, she dropped down beside them as if to provide support. Don't worry about him he's all smoke. Have any of you found the pulpit flower? Trying to keep a hold of the one she had, while still flying low was not an easy thing to do.

((I have a headache, but I think Nefar is in front of Chael, still not sure if he's on the ground or in the air.))
As the wyrm swooped across their path, Chael almost came to a halt, but realising the danger had swooped off as quickly as it had appeared, he changed from a trot to a gallop. Having regained some energy, he was able to race on ahead at top speed. He hoped Keelin and Pook were hanging on tightly. "Not much further now," he thought to himself.
((edited, because Nefar is not on the ground as I thought))
