"thanks, yeah everyone will know which blue is mind thanks to those whiskers"
he hugged the jar as he jogged back over to his dragonet and smoothed some of the numbweed onto the cuts not caring if his fingers went numb in the process

much better mine, thank you. can we eat now?
K'ther nodded and guided his blue over to the other feeding dragonets. the tiny blue stopped a little ways ahead of everyone
do i have to eat over there with everyone?
the dragonet was obviously like his rider prefering solidarity to large groups. Kinther shook his head and strode over to the table gathering a bowl full of the sliced raw meat and returning to his dragon. he sat down and rest his back against the wall as he began to toss his dragonet pieces of the meat.
"i don't like crowds either little one"
he said softley to the blue as it munched the sliced pieces down slowley

Riran was lingering on the outside of the hatching grounds, pacing back and forth and muttering to himself. He'd refused to allow the caravan to leave until he could get his hands on his sister and discipline her properly.
"Sir, maybe we shouldn't wait... She could have Impre--"
"SHE COULDN'T!" Riran exclaimed, whirling on the young man that had spoken up. "I didn't Impress when given the chance! What would make her any different?!" He hissed, kneeding his fist into his palm. "I swear, Kirana, you are going to get it... How does five months of gutting fish rather than helping with the lessons strike you?" He muttered insanely to himself as he continued to pace.
(^^; Not sure if anyone wanted me to post this, but hehehe. >> aftermath is fuuun!)

Nevaeh smiled at Fae. "This is truly amazing. An odd turn of events to see to golds come from one egg. Wow is all I can say." Nevaeh said giving Javareth another piece watching him carefully he was doing good so far and looked to be almost full by his actions.
Naeryn impressed one of the gold mine. She says her name is Cyhiraeth. Javareth informed Nevaeh of this just before she heard Naeryn shout out the exact same thing.
"Well you seem to be a pretty observitive one love. I think you and me will get along good." Nevaeh said to Javareth.

Tears flowing unnoticed down her face, Nae leads her Cyhiraeth to the tables to give her her first meal.
Mine... you are leaking.
"Hmm? Oh..." Nae bursts into laughter, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand. Seeing Faerra and her green a table away, she walks over, the gold right on her heels. "Faerra!" She picks up a peice of meat and feeds it to Cyhiraeth.
(fyi, it's pronounced Sy-hirr-ay-eth (you'd be amazed how many people don't get that))

((I just happened to be online at just the right time, and believe me, events moved very quickly indeed.))
K'elt's smile grew wider and wider with each pair that bonded. Then there was a final egg on the sands. It was big, and he was guessing it would be a gold from it's sheer size. His jaw dropped when he saw that not only was it a gold...but it was TWO! He was happy to see that one quickly locked eyes with Naeryn, she had been very kind to him after the last fall. And he nearly choked when the second little queen choose the focal point of the disturbance earlier. It was all he could do to keep from bursting out laughing at the thought of what that fool would do when he found out...most likely pop a blood vessel and drop dead and good riddance. Aoki walked up to him as he fought to keep his composure. To her question he replied "Sure, I would love some company. And yes, things do seem to be quite interesting around here. One of our old farm hands spoke of an ancient curse of his people, something like 'May you live in interesting times...' or some such. Back then, I had no idea what he meant...now, I am beginning to think I do. Shall we collect G'dor? I don't think it would be nice to leave him napping in the viewing area while everyone leaves. People might think he had begun to celebrate a little early, eh?" He gave Aoki a sly wink. "Speaking of celebrating, I believe R'ign was bringing some wine....???" He gallantly extended his arm for the lady to take...

Faerra grinned, and with a whoop, dragged Neveah over with her to Naeryn. "Congratulations Nae!!! I'm so happy for all of us, it's the best!" Mystith crooned in agreement, eyes whirling happily as the ivy studded dragonet looked at her clutchsiblings. Faerra couldn't stop the wide grin from spreading across her face. It was the best feeling ever!!

Naeryn gestures to the other girl. "Sorry, you're... Nevaeh, right? Congratulations on Impressing a blue! I have to say, I wasn't sure I'd wind up Impressing, but... oh wow, it was worth the wait." She beams down at her gold, who gives a happy croon and returns to munching on her bit of meat.

K'elt also bowed to the weyrwoman when she walked up to him and Aoki. "I will check with Garanth, he has been keeping a discreet eye on him since his...departure." *So, is that fool still around?* Yes, and he seems to be getting hotter by the minute. I think he just learned of his sister impressing, and it looks like he was rejected once. That would explain his anger, and his anger would explain why he was rejected. Be prepared, he could still be a problem. *Nothing that we cannot handle, a whole weyr of dragons and riders...*
"I am sorry Tolara, but he is still here, and Garanth says he is getting more and more angry with each passing second. Garanth and I will keep an eye on him and prevent him from harrassing the new queen pair, and perhaps a few of the older riders should be conspiquous by their prescence?"

As Kirana went to feed Tithenth, Riran couldn't wait anymore and slinked into the hatching grounds, turning to the closest rider to the entrance as her crossed his arms over his chest, "I would like my sister back now, thank you."
Kirana glanced towards the exit as she heard her brother's voice, only brought back into reality as Tithenth accidently nipped at her fingers as she tried to take the scrap of meat pressed between them.
Lower, mine. My neck isn't that long... Tithenth rumbled as she slinked closer to Kirana.

Nevaeh smiled at Naeryn. "Thank you. And Congratulations to you as well. A gold is a great honor." Nevaeh said looking down at the gold at naeryns feet. "Cyhiraeth right? My little phsyic Javareth here gave me her name before you even called it out." Javareth crooned with a wide yawn. "Well we're all dragonriders and for some reason I feel a great bond between us. It's an odd feeling or maybe it's him." Nevaeh said looking at Javareth who chirped sleepily at her.

R'dan sat down on the sands, the excitement that he'd felt since he'd awoken that morning was starting to drain out of him. Amlaith laid down next to him, her wedge-shaped head lying in the boy's lap as the pair waited for further instructions. R'dan watched as several of the new weyrlings began grouping together, congradulating one another on their Impressions. Sighing softly, he gently stroked the soft green hide of his lifebond.

Cyhiraeth rumbles threateningly, deep in her throat.

That man is back...
Naeryn looks over at the entrance to the grounds. Seeing the *ahem* man there, she frowns. Absently passing another bit of meat to her gold, she walks over to her gold's twin's rider. "Hey... do you know that guy?"

Tolara nodded to herself.
"I'll get Glith to spread the word. You two enjoy the feast and I'll see if I can get him headed out of here safely. I doubt he would argue too much with the Weyrwoman. And if he does..." She let the thread hang ominously in the air before smiling for the, she felt, youngsters.
Dragging a hand through her short hair Tolara smiled again wearily. She probably wasn't much older than either one of them, but the turns she had spent as a dragonrider seemed to add and indecipherable age to her.
A sudden passing throught crossed through her and she shook her head with a brief smile. About to shoo the two off, the man entered the sands solving her problem of finding him for her. How kind...

"Sadly, he's my brother," Kirana said, heaving a sigh. "Nobody likes him, and I'm not surprised he's creating a scene like this..." She said, grinning as Tithenth nipped the meat from her hands. "He's just lonely is the problem," She said, glancing over at the entrance. "And he doesn't know how to express it properly."

K'elt turned...and speak of the Devil, the wingnut was here. He moved to position himself between the angry man and the newly impressed weyrlings.
"You should be very happy for you sister, sir. She has impressed, and a fine golden queen at that. Now she will be honored as a queen rider of Fort Weyr. You should indeed be happy...I insist." K'elt's voice grew very flat at that point. *Garanth, you ready?* Of course...
