EchoLimaFoxtrot Nagual didn't trust the man, not even when the two-leggers congratulated him. She couldn't understand why, though. Eyeing the two-leggers, the mare snorted, and then looked to Yei, "I don't know... but I think he would, at the least. There are just too many mingled scents, they do not piece together correctly..."
The mare shook her mane, "Pale-faces? I do not know what you mean..." Nagual had been in the wild so long, with only seeing a few others and Sanika. News did not travel to her. Oyohusa couldn't believe his ears. The village chief was now congratulating him on killing the beast. Wasn't he the beast? He must of been but this feeling of love was hitting him hard. His black heart began to beat and this frightened him.
The dark spirit within clutched at his heart to try to make it stop beating. "Heart... no heart here.. only hate and darkness.. hissss" it screamed in his ear. Oyohusa shook his head to get it to stop. His body started to twitch violently as all his muscles began to spaz at once.
After awhile he stopped and his heart turned black again as did his eyes. He spat on the ground.
"I am no brother you worthless man. I bow to no one.. I will eat alone and in peace" he growled.
There was a girl who looked at him with distrust. "That's right.. don't trust you.. idiot." he yelled.

Yes. Thanking the stars that someone had an ounce of sense, Verbena moved back, in case the chief and the man needed more room to get to the center of the village. This had seemed too far blown out of proportion - she conveniently forgot the two Soquili that had been injured, the scent of blood washed away by the scents of many other villagers, the sight of the two fallen blocked as well.
"I would like to hear the story as well." Verbena said aloud to no-one in particular, sounding greatly satisfied with this outcome. He was innocent after all, if the chief trusted him.

Rot nodded curtly to the mare that spoke to him. "If we Kalona had done this, we'd be the first to admit to it. The truth is, our own land was.. desecrated. Whoever had done such at thing will pay with their life and nothing less. That is the Kalona way." Though the truce was in place, it was easy to see the malice behind the Kalona's words. He hoped he could kill the culprit himself.

Myoa didn't trust the stranger. She felt like she needed to warn Chief Tawai, but didn't want to appear rude, especially without proof. Instead, Myoa stepped closed to Degewi and Tawai.

Maeryn wandered among the panicked Soquili, feeling slightly vindicated by the whispers that she heard in defense of her own kind. Perhaps they had finally come to their senses. She didn't have a great deal of trust in them, and she certainly did believe much of them... but still, it was an improvement. What an ironic situation this was. It might prove to be a lesson to the people, to teach them that there were more things to be feared than Kalona. Then, finally, they might understand the nobility of her proud race. Yes, there was wickedness among them... and she herself was fully aware of her own darkness, but they were an integral part of Soquili. Absolutely essential.

Nayuli smiled in agreement with the chief. "Yes come and tell us of your tale." She smiled still holding the food for the man.
Zira growled and stomp her hooves giving a whinny. She did not like this old man and was going to let it be know.
Sgina galloped beside the man and attemped to sniff him up close. She wanted to know if this man was really a man or a demon.
Degewi snorted abit trying to get the cheifs attention. He was non to sure that he like the smell of the strange man and so he was not about to leave the cheif's side as his blind eyes seemingly glared at the beggar man.

Nagual listened to Yei, unsure. Her mind, though, and her eyes were on the man. "It is possible, but he looks like one of these two-leggers, not light or pale at all...."
The mare watched as the pelted man seemed to change. The emotions of his face and then his twitching. She took a step back and ground her teeth. Why was everyone around him, "Yei.... they shouldn't...." and then he yelled and Nagual's ears pinned again.
She side-stepped, never taking his eyes off him, "We should keep an eye on him... he's...." Nagual tried to think of the word. He reminded her of the river, with its currents and secrets. "He's unstable, in the least."

Selene snorted at the old man, tossing her carrot at him. It flew towards his hair, heading for his head. And she hoped it hit him to. He had no right to be so mean to all the people. Many were being nice to him, and those that weren't had good reason. Look at what he was wearing! It stunk of danger, and death.

Tifa didn't see Cloud since there were so many soquili around. She stuck near Yei, but she felt a little bit better with a familiar soquili close to her. It was late and she was getting tired, but no way was she returning to the teepee in the middle of the forest. It was just too dangerous.

Arwentia stepped back at the man's sudden outburst. Where had that come from? He seemed so polite, so kind, and now... Her senses flared up, and she did not trust him suddenly.
Inali, standing apart from the other soquili, tried to gather her thoughts. It was difficult to untangle one scent from the next- perhaps if she had come earlier, there would have been more residual scent. She cursed her kind for being too stupid to realize they should walk carefully, and not get their own scent over that of the intruder. Following a slim trail, she looked up at the man. Something was not right... his scent was too similar to the one that was lying everywhere, yet it was still different. Puzzled, Inali drew into herself, looking as lost as the rest of them. At least they were banding up- for the first time in her life, Inali felt lonely. Shouldn't she be in on this teamwork? Oh well, she didn't need them. She could untangle this herself, starting with the similar scents.

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki Aruna allowed Astia to pull away from the smell and sight of the humans. "It's okay, my love, it's okay," she said, trying to comfort her sister. "Were you hungry? You were out for so long, I fell asleep without warning." She knew there had to be some kind of food around here, but with all this devastation, she wasn't so sure anymore. "This.. This.. It's horrible!" Astia whimpered again. "Leave.. I want to leave.." She babbled nonsense, before being jerked back to her senses. "What..? Uhm.. I think so.. Yeah.. I was pretty hungry." The mare lifted her head and nodded quickly. "I'm fine now though.. my appetite is gone.." Astia swallowed, and forced herself to focus on Ru, just Ru. Ignore the rest.. Her fast, uneven breathing stopped, and she allowed her tense shoulders to relax.Lightning raised a brow, and looked at the stallion Two'er in the skin. Maybe he had food? No.. he looked mean.. He nuzzled Tala harder, hoping for food. "Please..?"

"He's unstable, in the least." Yei quivered and flattened her own ears as the expression on the man's face clouded and changed. His entire demeanor seemed to shift and as he made his outburst she couldn't help but bare her teeth ever so slightly in response to his raised voice, even then, she refused to move from her spot and continued to stare at him.
"I agree." She mumured at last and gave a nod to Nagual although her eyes still remained trained on the pelted man, "The two-leggers may not see it but he's very dangerous...there is something very wrong about him."

Myoa felt that Degewi's unease was as great as her own, if not more. She snorted with Degewi. If both of them didn't trust the stranger...could he really have a kind heart?

Chief Tawadi couldn't believe his ears. This hero was now cursing and disrespecting him. "What on.. earth?" he wondered. Didn't this warrior want to be rewarded for ridding the village of evil?
There was a few people who tried to get his attention. "I'm all ears. tell me what you want to say." he said.

Nayuli gasped and dropped the food on the ground infront of Oyohusa. She backed up and stood in shoch slightly behind the chief. "What are you?! Who are you?!"
