1. a fair decision with yuffie can not be maid because nothing with here changed the course of the game SHE WAS OPTIONAL, chemistry can not build when the posibility of her being there is 50/50.
2. cloud LIKED tifa from childhood. it was basicly just a crush that lasted into adulthood.
3. cloud fell in LOVE with aeris, some point in the game, near the end tifa even says that she knows cloud loved aeris. and, in the ending fmv, cloud just saves tifa and the first thing he says to her is that he can find aeris.
tifa loves cloud, but she knows he loves aeris, and is really only there to console him afte her death.

it couldnt be yuffie, because shes a secret character and so square didnt put much into her character.
but it seems cloud liked aeris and it also seemed that he liked tifa as well, but more as an old friend (since they do go back a long way)
so I think cloud loved aeris

Amylin I see more evidance supporting there being a romantic relationship between Cloud&Aeris (not Aries). I do think he loved Tifa but in a brother/sister way. Agreed. And Yuffie is definitely out of the picture. Not only is she a secret character that's not entirely needed in the game, but I just can't honestly picture her with Cloud. Cloud preferred Aeris. This was shown on several different occasions. Namely how he reacted to her death. He was devastated. With Tifa, as stated earlier, he acted as more of a...big brother/close friend.

I thought if I got stronger I could get someone to notice...... Tifa: Someone to notice you...? ......who? Second Cloud: You...... But, "oh no! He liked Aeris!" rolleyes Nutcases. mrgreen (jk) Actually the line was "I was devastated. ......I wanted to be noticed." I will admit... Cloud is very much a man to dwell on the past however; a childhood crush can simply be that... a childhood crush. I will not deny that there were romantic feelings from Cloud to Tifa, but all of these things a in past tense. Tifa has present feelings to Cloud but, unless the gamer instructs Cloud otherwise, Cloud shows no romantic affection to Tifa. Every mutually "romantic" sequence between Cloud and Tifa either is gamer optional (Cloud being affectionate to Tifa under the Highwind) or is refering to Cloud's feelings in past tense (The Lifestream scene). All manditory present refering scenes used to argue the CloudxTifa pairing such as Cloud dressing up to "save" Tifa (he thinks he's saving her) from Don are scenes that can just as easily argued to my point of a brother/sister relationship between Cloud and Tifa. However, Cloud numerously shows light hints of his present romantic feelings to Aeris in lines such as "But I'm... we're here for you." or even after Aeris' death "Don't worry Aeris; I'll take care of everything." and "I think I can meet her there." I suppose whatever floats your boat. Personally, I think TifaxZack are the best couple. lol sorry about the typo. I was typing too fast sweatdrop

Well, it could be Aeris, it could be Tifa (and it'd DEFINATELY not Yuffie), but I'm sticking to what I believe in, and that was that he liked Tifa. He could have liked Aeris, I don't know for sure, but I have always thought it was Tifa. I don't think that there's a definate answer, really. They never said. I wish they would have. stressed

If you think of it, Cloud liked Aeris as Tifa liked Cloud. Cloud didn't think of Tifa unless she was talking to him, unlike Aeris who he keeps thinking about.

It's one of those games where the things that you want or expect to happen don't. For example, I didn't know that Aeris was going to be killed. That was a real surprise for me (though it probably was obvious, but I wasn't paying adequate attention). And I wanted something to happen between Cloud and Tifa, but nothing did. It's just one of those games, I guess.

I wish they would have. stressed As I said... whatever floats your boat. I have nothing against the CloudxTifa coupling. I honestly think Tifa would do Cloud a lot of good. What turns me off from the pairing is that while Tifa COULD fulfill all of Cloud's mental/emotional/phyiscal needs I don't think Cloud could do the same for Tifa. Anyways, I think its a good thing that left the game so open for interruptation. Then it wouldn't be as interesting.

um... you spelt aeris wrong. you spelt it aries, which is the god of war... but personally i believe that cloud loved aeris more than he loved tifa. i am not sure why, but it is just a hunch i have.

hmmm if i were cloud i'd choose Tifa lol. Shes attractive and really brave caring. I mean Aeris is like all the same too and has good characteristics. But I'm going to have to go with the person he knew for a long time. Also Yuffie is too childish for Cloud lol. XD
