/This is Adams we're heading into the hanger, Armor's toasted, but we have effectivly cut off the outside Covenant assualt on the hanger. What is your status?/
"/This is Second Lieutenant Edwards, responding. Am approaching your position via internal corridors. I've been out a while. Who is our current CO?/" Edwards pistol-whipped a grunt that attempted to run past him to safety. It seems to me that they're scattered. Better watch my back as I continue forward. Ensuring his sniper rifle was secure on his back, Edwards reloaded his empty M6D pistol and walked closer to hnagar twleve, albeit more cautiously.

Mike swung the butt of his rifle into the face of a Jackal. It crumpled from the force and fell in a heap on the metallic floor. "Fire at will! All lines fire! Push them back outside." He turned behind him, pointing to some crates. "Get these set up. I want some barricades now!' He barked, firing his MA5B into the Grunt charging towards him. Plasma bolts streaked by his face, the heat causing the hair on his cheek to stand on end. Suddenly, the world began to spin, Mike's body suddenly felt elevated as he flew through the air. He could feel his arms flailing trying to act as wings as he continued to glide. The MA5B left his hand, crashing to the ground with a plastic clatter. The air caught Mike's face as the world began to flip. Blurs of plasma and bullets passed through his eyeside before he felt the ground meet his body with a massive shock.
The world faded to black, sound muted, he lost feeling in his entire body. For a second, he was in a void, nothing could touch him, and he couldn't move, hear, speak or anything, but then, the scene came into clear view. His eyes focused on the rafters and metal scaffalding above. Mike used all of his strength to lift himself up. The bright sun from the outside filtered into the bay, gleaming off of the metallic plating of the bay. He reached down at his side, gripping the M3D pistol in his holster and drawing it, racking the slide. "All marines, I want a full retreat. We're going to seal off the Hangar. We can try a bottleneck manuver outside the door. Grab as much as you can, crates, weapons, ammo, anything."

0608 HOURS, NOVEMBER 2, 2552 (MILITARY CALENDAR) BETA SYGMA SYSTEM , PLANET VERCROUSE , BELFAST BASE , COMMAND AND CONTROL CENTER_______________________________________________________ Colonel Kenneth Chenault stood in the center of his command center with his hands placed behind his back, his eyes scanning cautiously along the wall-sized monitor before him. He didn't trust the Navy above to protect his base for him, and planned on them failing to do much other than slow the Covenant down for him. He waited patiently for the old Admiral above to tell him something useful as he gazed at the results from the sensors that surrounded the base. They were getting readings all over the place, which either meant they were malfunctioning, which wasn't very likely, or they were screwed. He didn't think much about either as he absentmindedly touched the handle of his M6C in its holster, watching as dozens of the pod sensors that lined the 'Great Wall' on the northern side flickered, indicating they were firing. _______________________________________________________ Anaconda and Ardent V Missiles criss-crossed in the sky as the automated firing system let loose on the oncoming wave of Phantoms. The full force of the Covenant couldn't truly hide from them as it finally appeared, and didn't need to, as the large troop transports glided through the sky towards the base. Over a hundred of the things opened fire on a single side of the hopefully mighty human fortress, their plasma cannons aiming at both the wall itself and the missile pods mounted atop it. The smell of smoke and burning matter filled the air as salvos from both sides hit their marks. The two massive 50mm MLA Autocannons guarding this particular portion of the wall rattled within their even larger protective bunkers as they fired upon the enemy air fleet, the heavy rounds ripping through the bulky alien craft with ease. Whenever one was brought down by eight or so hits from surface-to-air missiles three would take its place. Some of the craft settled for dropping off their loads of blood-thirsty Covenant a great distance from the wall itself, practically making it a suicide run for them as they advanced blindly toward the enemy stronghold. Those forces unlucky enough to be on the ground were met with mines which exploded upward without warning, taking out chunks of land and enemies in the process. Their overwhelming numbers, however, proved to be enough as the battle for entry into the base was soon over. It only took a single group of suicidal -as well as camoflauged- Elites to place several of their all too familiar plasma charges at the wall's base to move things along. The ground shook as the explosions ripped through the solid barrier that protected Belfast and exposing the humans within to the elements of war. The battle for the base was still far from over, however, as the Covenant attempted to secure their entrance. The turrets that lined the rest of that wall's section continued assaulting the enemy hoard, now simply firing into the growing crowd of aliens on the ground as the Phantoms mostly withdrew. Dozens upon dozens of Ghosts and Wraiths pushed through to the front of the wave, the heavy tanks lobbing orbs of plasma into the human installations as they advanced. The two MLA's were overrun with ease, the large guns still firing to the last second as the Marine teams within those bunkers fought with no hope of survival. On the other side of the Great Wall, however, the Covenant were met with another wall, this one made up off Scorpion tanks, M12 Warthogs, and battle-hardened Marines. The two forces collided and pounded repeatedly into one another, showing no signs of surrender as they all gladly sacrificed themselves. _______________________________________________________ The Colonel watched on the monitor as the wall crumbled and his men were instantly at the throats of every alien that attempted to crawl into his base. He was slightly surprised a fleet of Covenant warships hadn't broken through the clouds above and fried this place completely by now, but took it as a good sign. The cleanly shaven leader smiled slightly as the casualty estimates already began showing up in the corner of the screen, noting how the enemy's was rising at a much more rapid rate than their own. He squinted slightly as he looked at the enemy force, watching it a moment longer before deciding he'd hit them while he could as he spoke to the COM officer linked with the airfield. "Launch all of our VTOL Fighters and have them do some bombing runs near those heavy enemy tanks, since they're clear of our own forces. Banshee numbers are small and can be avoided right now, but that can change..." Kenneth knew his tone always came off as arrogant to the lower ranks, but he couldn't bother caring about that anymore as he focused on finding a weak point within the Covenant armada.

"/This is Second Lieutenant Edwards, responding. Am approaching your position via internal corridors. I've been out a while. Who is our current CO?/"
More much needed aid. Seth'd thank god if he was a religious man. Flipping on his COM to a return signal Seth spoke, "Glad to here another voice, Sir. If your inside you should be reaching the CO and his men near the doors. It was a Captain Brennan the last time I heard Sir. But there's been no word from anyone inside for a while now."
Finally Seth reached the outside hanger doors, after a short, but painful walk. Seth leaned himself on the side of the hanger door just outside the entrance. "I'm outside with an eager Sergeant Kobra, my orders from the Cpt are to go in and kill some uglies." He continued in a hushed voice. Seth peeked around the corner cautiously. Inside he could see Brutes and Grunts mingling, pilling towards the opposite end. What once was a clean hanger packed full of combat ordinance was now, a battle ground in it's purest sense. Singed and melted rubble and metal. The Brutes all seemed to be dancing with anxiousnes back and forth the grunts buzzed and skittered with fear and nerves, although both groups put off a bloodthirsty roar. Seth couldn't quite tell how many there were. But the Marines were more the obviously outnumbered. All of the activity seemed to be directed towards one end of the Hanger, it must be the doors, where the others were. He could see flashes of red blue and green plasma. Small isolated hollow sounding detenations sounded, echoed by the hanger walls.
It was a viscious sight. And to think that Marines were on the other side of it could chill a soldier to the bone.
"Kobra, take the biggest gun you've got and take a five count after these go off, then go crazy." He said quietly to his fellow Marine. Sighting the largest cluster of Brutes, maybe four or five were standing close enough together. Seth opened his pouch full of grenades and lobed two of them in their direction. "Nade out" He said quietly into his COM, no need for nasty surprises on his side. Bringing up his BR55 to pick off survivors, Seth felt like what he thought was a prayer coming on. He hoped in the Chaos the Grunts would start shooting, as they often did when confused. He hoped htings would escalate out of control and none of them would know he or Kobra were there. Seth hoped a lot of things.

/Glad to here another voice, Sir. If your inside you should be reaching the CO and his men near the doors. It was a Captain Brennan the last time I heard Sir. But there's been no word from anyone inside for a while now./
Edwards nodded to himself. Okay then, I'd better go help, ehh? Arriving at the corridor's exit into hangar 12, Edwards identified the other marines following Brennan's orders, and concluding there wasn't enough time to search for the Captain personally, Daniel hurriedly helped the other marines form a barricade whilst pausing to shoot a stray grunt every once in a while, which seemed to become more frequent within the few minutes of moving the crates. Soon, Edwards had to reload his pistol, did so, and then unslung his sniper rifle. "I think it would be good if this retreat happened a lot quicker." Sticking by the wall, Edwards ducked and crawled around various sizeable crates to his left, searching for a good position to defend the other marines. He squeezed through a narrow passage formed between two large crates and jumped back immediately, heart racing. It seems these elites had the same idea as I. No way am I going to let them through though. Hurling two frag grenades through the gap, Edwards stepped further backward, raising his sniper rifle to chest level. After a few agonisingly slow seconds, Daniel flinched as the two crates around him moved with the explosion, attempting to sandwich the marine between them. Thinking quickly, he placed his sniper rifle sideways and the 'alloy rod' between the two crates bent a little before finally stopping the crates. "s**t. I liked that rifle! Damnit, these Covenant are going to pay!" Edwards ignored the fact that it was his fault that the explosion occurred in the first place, and ducked under his suspended rifle as he equipped his pistol. 'At least you won't fail me,' he almost said aloud.
Daniel found no alien corpses, nor any bluish purple blood as he passed out into the open space. Now I'll have to kill them twice as hard. "/Heads up, marines. A small squad of elites are attempting to find an alternative route to the barricade area of hangar 12. I'm armed only with a pistol, but I'm after them. Edwards out./" Searching for the elites' trail, Edwards hid from a pair of brutes and continued his search. A frontal enemy the marines could handle, but one from behind or another unknown position was potentially fatal.

Saminoz put the COM next to his hear..." This... Adams... *Kshh* FIRE AT WILL! (Long Pause) Take the biggest gun.....*Kshh*"After that last word a big explosion went off in the background and that was the last he heard from the COM."Well... That's a good sign." Saminoz said grimly, sweating a little bit, as he mashed the gas pedal that much harder.
After 5 more minutes Saminoz finally approached the hanger as he began to slowly decrease his speed. When the Warthog came to a full stop he jumped out of it, leaving it running just in case he needed to quickly get back in. With his gun around his back as he entered the Hanger...
What he saw shocked him a bit. He saw menb creeping to the hanger. Some of them running, others limping, and some being carried out on the brink of death. Inside the hanger was no better as soliders were crying for help. Directly behind him was a man who completely demutilized weeping on a make-shift bed. "What a sight...." he said as rubbed his chin. "What the hell happend here? " Saminoz said out loud hoping for a response from someone.

*Kobra put his BR55 on his shoulder. He also opened his grande poch. He stood with his back on the corner Next to adams peeking around the corner down the hall.* "Okay I got it. What if thier is some else down their they'll get hit. After you frags go off I bomb some more down thier. With short fuses. Which mean i hold them 3 sceonds each after the pin is relased causing then to go off when they get thier for mimum reaction time for them.Okay. According to that sign, thier a Hanger close by here. Hangers have Amroies!!! We need to re stock. Also the hanger is near where we are going so we should be close." *Kobra switch his Radio/COM to his helmet so He could here them better. His helment has a HUD displaying that thier are about 5 brutes but that wasn't a direct cont due to the interfrence of some other avtivty. He also noticed that there are Jammed signlas.* "A Adams I figured out why we barely can here anyone. The guy must have set up a trancever/ which alowes then to resive messages but jams out signal. When we take them out we should take it out. Then radio for a mission up-date."

"We're at the hanger Kobra. And we have our orders, we need to take out those covenant." Adams barked to Kobra, lobbing yet another grenade into a group of grunts. The earlier grenades had killed several Brutes. The grunts nearest broke into a panic and fled into the sides of the hanger, away from the door where the Marines had created a baricade. Bringing up his BR55 Seth sighted enemies and began to open fire on Brutes Grunts and Jackles. Pumping his newly refreshed clip into many of the alien bodies.
The hanger was a mess with chaos and plasma, dead corpses and explosions. The Grunts had done what he had hoped and began firing at random, as the often did when scared or confused. Unfortunately too many of those explosions were close to the hanger doors, and the bulk of attention was still there.
It was then Seth saw something that made his neck hairs stand on end. In the midst of the roars, the screeching, Seth saw the Brute shipmaster, in all of his terrifying glory. His armor seemed to radiate in the large hanger.
The fearsome Shipmaster turned just as Seth was bringing his BR55 to round on it's head. The Shipmaster screamed, roared, a bloodthirsty call as it stared right at Seth. With that roar the surviving covenant, a good twenty or so, followed the shipmaster's gaze to find Seth and Kobra leaning against the hanger outside doors. And this time, their roars of frustration, of anger, their defiant roars of battle were absolute. And to Seth's dispair, they all opened Fire at the humans who dared to attack them. "Cover!" Seth yelled out, the message being sent through the COM, but directed towards Kobra. The last thing Seth saw as he threw himself out of the way was the Shipmaster's sinister grin. It spoke only of confidence, of triumph.
Well, at the very least they were ignoring the hanger doors now. He'd done his mission. But with his bad leg he wasn't going anywhere fast. Not fast enough anyway. Propping himself up against the outside wall of the hanger, just around the corner from where he last stood, Seth could hear the angry covenant war cry. He could feel the Brutes and grunts stomping like beasts towards the hanger doors where Seth had just been standing moments ago.
Seth quickly sent out, what may be his last message on the long range broadcast COM frequency. "Covenant have been surpressed for the moment. Twenty or so, survived and are currently en route out of the hanger...towards my position." Seth took a deep breath, they weren't far away now, less than half a minute maybe. "Kobra and I could use some help fast out here." He could shoot down maybe one or two as they left the hanger and rounded the corner, more with Kobra's help. Plus that, He had a few grenades left in his pouch. That'd stall them. But with twenty very angry covenant storming to thwir position, even with Kobra's help they'd both be overwhelmed within moments.

Aaron said as he shot at another Grunt coming towards him. "Sh*t, I'm out of ammo. Private, you got any pistol ammo with you?" Aaron asked.

Edwards sighed as he heard the broadcast on his COM frequency. "If I knew where you were, I'd probably be able to help." Looking around, he almost kicked himself in frustration. "Hell! If I knew where I was, I'd probably be able to help. Where are those damned elites, anyway? I've lost their trail." Being struck with a hard object from behind, Edwards fell to the hangar floor, the pain to his shoulder pulsating towards his brain. I think I found them again. s**t. Jumping up as quick as his body would allow, Edwards emptied his pistol's clip into the chest of an elite, then backed away, running in any random direction that would increase his chance of survival. His muscles tense, Daniel turned another corner and glanced back, noting four or five Covenant following hotly on his heels. Damnit! No time to reload!
After another minute or few of running, Edwards took a turn that brought him out into the open space of the hangar, and deciding that the closed space behind wasn't safe, ran to the nearest exit: the gaping hangar doors. "Pardon me!" he shouted as he nudged past a group of angry Covenant heading in the same direction. This startled the brutes and grunts, and before they could raise their firearms to kill this stupid lifeform, Daniel ran outside the hangar, turning to run along the base's perimeter. "What do ya know?" he stated, dumbfounded. "I now know my location, and yours!" The marine grinned at the wounded man he assumed to be Adams, and looked cautiously at the grenades he was holding. "You weren't planning on bombing a superior officer, were you Adams?" he asked in jest. "Let's go. I can't say you'll be glad that I, of all people, came. Alongside the brutes and grunts, I had elites in close pursuit." By the time he had finished talking, Edwards had reloaded his pistol, turning around to aim at the hangar doors. "I'll cover you. Retreat as fast as you can, and throw a few of those fireworks occasionally to help." Phoenix then ducked down to reduce himself as a target and to provide the wounded marine behind him with a clear field of view for lobbing grenades. "Kobra, I'd appreciate your help also. We're going to survive this mission, understand, men?"

Spartan-019 sat up and looked around for his helmet. Finding it was to his left, he reached over and grabbed the object, placing it on his head. A plasma torpedo was dropped on the right side of the hog and had sent him flying with it. He had made it, but the Private in the drivers seat hadn't. Assuming he was near the location determined as Belfast, he began to run along the road, passing covenant in the bushes and trees, some of them even walking along the road; all they could see was a large green blur. Above in the air several VTOL Fighters began their bombing runs on the Wraiths; not very good for a lone Spartan behind enemy lines. Doing his best to keep ahead of the bombs, several Wraiths exploded around him, and even more covenant. There was one Wraith that hadn't been hit yet and it had found its way ahead of all the others. The Chief ran as fast as he could, priming a grenade and jumping onto the back of it. He ripped open a panel and shoved it inside, jumping off and running ahead of it. After three seconds of hell the Wraith exploded from the inside out, making a small blue fire for all the Marines to see. Ahead of him was the Covenants only hope, only way of winning this battle. Their troops and their guns. This wouldn't be an easy job for Leito, but he knew he'd have to do it. He opened up a COM, "this is Spartan-019. I'm advancing upon your position as we speak." "From where? God dammit, I don't have time to play games son!" came back. He heaved a few heavy breaths before picking up the pace, dodging incoming friendly rounds. Passing a few elites and grunts, a few brutes as well, the Chief made his way to the front lines where he stepped onto a Scorpion and then jumped over several Marines in the friendly zone. But it wasn't over yet, he needed to find their CO.

Saminoz soon realized that standing around stupidly wasn't going to help his chances in finding what was going on. He needed to find a higher rank. Mabey they knew what was amist, or had a better understanding on the situation at hand.
Saminoz ran towards the door, BR in hand, as his heart began to beat faster. As he ran into the hall an Elite popped up looking to enter where he was leaving. Saminoz shot at the Elite which only enraged it. It went to knock Saminoz out with a clobber to the head. Lucky Saminoz doged its flying hand. As he ducked under it, Saminoz jabbed him in the gut and shot 5 burts killing the Elite letting purple blood spill to the ground as it screamed falling to the ground. He fell back against the wall. "That's one down..." He said catching his breath for a breaf moment as he took off running down the wall.
He got to the end of the hall and opend the door leading him back outside. Further down the wall was an injured marine with another providing cover for him. Saminoz ran up to them. He decided now was not the best time to talk as he lobbed a frag grenade into five grunts. He didn't have time to look as plasma shot grazed the skin on his forehead. He pulled back momentarily next to the wounded marine checking the rader on his HUD showing a group of enemies. He stayed put hoping they would fall into a trap.

*Kobra just starded at the appoching group of cavnat. He was in shock because he was thinking that the end was here. He started down the sites of his gun and watching the brutes.* "Umm... Yes sir. I do my best. I don't know how we are going to do it. Do you have any smoke Grandes. Madey if I got to a higher point I could shoot them. With me Sniper. Also what is the game play I have barlly no bulltes. I have exstra Frags. About 3 exstra. If you need some." *Kobra stood up placing his back on the wall while peeking out of the wall. He grabbed a frag and help it in his left hand while awaiting the signal of what ever. His hud showed abnormal readding on vaital signs and ab-normal readdings.* "A guys my HUD is showing some wiered activity. It not covanet either."
