I'm rather fond of the name Mink Biscuit, even though it means nothing at all; I got the name by opening up random pages in the dictionary and slamming together the first two words I saw.

I love Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, and Ursula K. Le Guin, and for a good year I spent all my time just catching up on all the things they've done over the years that I hadn't known about 'em. (I'm still not completely caught up on that.) Lately I've been trying to expand my horizons and pick up books by authors I've never heard of; this largely amounts to me buying all sorts of things I find in airport bookstores.

God willing, someday I'll be a writer, and help other people find stories to get lost in.

I am Peach. Not Manga. Peach. I love to read and right now my favorite author is Terry Pratchett, though it tends to shift every few months or so.

Favorite book? Tough one. I'll have to get back to you on that.

names not really kusare but meh. i usually read books based not on their author so can't say i have a fav. I'm getting into historical fiction and my latest was The QUeen's Fool. Haven't been keeping upo to date with the lastest ones so most of the books i read are kinda dated.

I overlooked this page. xD

My name is Kal, inching slowly on 22.
I'm an English and Literary major in my third year of college, soon to be fourth. Just switched majors, actually. I'm a mother to a beautiful, brilliant, hilarious soon to be four year old and am also a social worker / mental health CLS worker.

For contemporary fiction I enjoy Gaiman, Vonnegut, Palahniuk, Lackey, Ehrenreich, Rowling, Reichert, Grisham, yada yada.
I have a passion for classic literature, my two favorites being Dumas and Poe.
I also love: Ellison, Jacobs, London, Crane, Harte, Auden, Shakespeare, Chopin, Stevenson, Shelley, Wharton, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Lowry, Hawthorne, Thoreau, ect.

As far as poetry goes, Eliot, Plath, Whitman, Longfellow, Marvelle, Marlowe, Dickinson. I love the oddballs. =o3

I'm a lover of all types of printed words and broadcasted opinions. Journalism, scholarly, literature, fiction, nonfiction, blargh-blah-bleh. I mentioned in a previous thread that I've been printed quite a few times, thoroughly loved it, and plan on it continuing to happen throughout my life. I hope to meet lots of other book-hugging maniacs. <3

Hello! I'm not going to post my real name on the internet (no intelligent person would), so just call me bijou3owl. Favorite book? I have more than one. Some of my favorites include His Dark Materials (trilogy), Harry Potter (series), Lord of the Rings (trilogy), and Inheritance (trilogy). I recently read Fahrenheit 451, Dracula, Frankenstien, and War of the Worlds. Favorite authors include JK Rowling (who doesn't love her?), Christopher Paolini, Philip Pullman, Cornilia Fuke (is that how you spell her name? Author of Inkheart), and any one else that can write a captivating story.

Back to the basics, eh Bijou? Bradberry, Stoker, Shelley and Wells. <3.
Was this your first time reading any of them?

Welcome to the guild. ^^

Allo, all. Just call me Gexx, if you want. I've been reading for a while, so I really can't list a single favorite book. There are quite a few books I'm looking forward to reading this summer, now that the semester is OVER!! YAAY! I tend to enjoy sci-fi, pulps, and civil/social/political satire/commentary (LeGuine, Vonnegut, Huxley, Rand, and bunches others). I'm not much of a romance fan. Mixed in with my summer pleasure fiction will be a ton of required nonfiction, but I like the topic, so ::shrug::

Oh my gosh, kalandra, you have found yourself a fellow book-hugging maniac!

Ok, well, I just joined the guild, so here's a bit about me, just in case you are interested, for some strange reason.

My name really is Arenyie, don't ask, cause I won't tell. I go by Em or Aren, as that is what my friends have always called me. It's easier to remember.

I am a total book-reading freak! I read in most of my spare time. I would need a really long list to name all of the authors that I love, but here are a few: Ursula K. Leguinn, Orson Scott-Card, Frank Herbert, and Aldous Huxley. That is a very select few of my favorite authors. A few favorite books would have to be: Brave New World, The Redemption of Christopher Columbus, Dune, A Wizard of Earthsea, and Homer's The Odyssey.

Anne McCaffrey's Pern series is what first got me hooked on reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar and McCaffrey's Acorna books continued that trend. I also write fiction, though I have yet to be published. I will read most genres, though my favorites are fiction/fantasy/sci-fi, and one romance book: P.S., I Love You, by Cecilia Ahern. What can I say, I'm a sap at times.

Well, I'll stop rambling now, but to make a long post even longer, I love to read... and I have ready WAY too many books for my own good, even though I have loved every word of the books!

If you read my whole post, you must have some serious free time to fill.

Thanks!
--Aren
