You rock. You know that, right? biggrin DD What arguments did they pull, if I may ask? Was it the usual "abortion is murder, personhood begins at conception"? *is curious* My school doesn't have any religious clubs. One of the guys in my forum (homeroom-ish class) is considering starting a JSU. Since nearly half of our school's population is Jewish (I think there are more Jews there than Christians).

Thanks, you're sweet. heart They, quite frequently, cited Biblical text that suggested that the fetus is a person -- this was the hardest to counter only because they would not let it drop. They did raise up the 'abortion is murder' argument once -- I shot it down with my one-two-punch combination of the legal definition combined with a "you can believe that personally; however, I do not share your worldview." Fetal pain was an issue that was raised. And, when I asked whether or not they made exceptions they only allowed abortions in scenarios that would result in death -- that was it. I exploited on that a little bit. Beyond that, they really did not have much to say.

So, they're using the Bible to preach to the general public that abortion is ebil and should be illegal? I don't know why I'm surprised. Maybe because most of the lifers I've seen using the Bible as evidence only use it for their own opinions, not for legislation or anything.

I live in a very rural area during the summer and, as such, they are allowed to get away with such things because they are related to much of the general population anyway. Come to think of it, that is probably why they were itching for a fight to begin with -- I imagine they get pretty bored sitting back in their corner dwarfed by Culligan and Mary Kay. xd
